Welcome to my Dream House!
My beautiful house,
All pink glitter and play.
We all love being girly
And wearing costumes all day!
.
My room is all pink with castle wall decor!
I love my barbies the most.
.
Dad and I host tea parties with my stuffed animals,
I wear my princess dress as I play;
Dad is my best friend
Throughout the night and day.
.
Mom is quiet and watches TV,
She loves Ballet
And watched soap operas on it religiously,
every day.
.
She lays around
And doesn't come out that much,
But that's okay,
Because my daddy is fun!
.
Not everything in this neighborhood is lovely,
Amongst the beautiful trees
and friendly smiles
That the neighbors share.
.
They shake their fingers at the kids,
And warn us about the tree-napper.
.
Do not go too far to the tree
That lives in the backstreets;
That's the evil tree
That everyone warns about —
It captures little children
Because of their luck.
.
"Hey dad, the window in yours and mommy's room cracked," I say.
"Don't worry, we will fix it someday," dad smiles.
"It's broken, but so are we," mother proclaims. "Nothing is perfect."
.
Welcome to my Dream House,
Where ribbons dance with glee,
Where all is pink, it seems.
.
But every fairytale begins
Beneath a haunted tree.
.
I am just a child,
Too young to understand
The Rotten Apple Tree
Has reached its twisted hand.
.
Here, you'll come to see
What became of me —
How the Rotten Apple Tree,
Stole the glitter out of me.
