"Protect the High Priest!"
A dozen Temple Priests quickly gathered around, taking positions to guard the High Priest in the center.
Their variety of sorcery descended upon the swarm of Shade Ghosts, repelling some, but the frail bodies of the Priests were unable to withstand the Shade Ghosts' direct assault. Soon, agonizing screams rang out as these Barbarian Priests, one after another, fell under the possession of the Shade Ghosts and collapsed.
The High Priest's face hardened slightly. With a wave of his hand, a spell rune emerged in his grasp, dissolved by his True Qi flame. Shortly after, a black rune light circle appeared around him.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
The Shade Ghosts struck the rune light circle, causing astonishing ripples. However, no matter how they attacked, they could not break through the circle to harm the High Priest.
Yet under this onslaught, the light from the rune circle flickered, its brightness waxing and waning, growing dim and uncertain.
"A futile struggle!"
