"The other villages are also participating in the chunin exams for political reasons. It is very rare to see four of the five great Shinobi villages participating in the chunin exams. Normally everyone is hostile against each other." Shikuro said
"Iwa is mostly curious to see how we have gotten so many Anbus despite the losses that we suffered in the third great ninja war as well as the nine tails attack. That sly old fox was surely planning to take advantage of Konoha's weakness but the extra Ambu forces thwarted his plans." Shikuro snorted as he said that before continuing,
"Even I don't know how Hokage-sama managed to recruit so many strong Anbus. It is also one of the reasons that I have been given the opportunity to become a Jonin sensei since there are others who can undertake A or S rank missions in my stead."
'It must be the addition of the Root Shinobi in the Anbu. To think that Danzo had done something good for the village even though it was unintentional and against his will. Maybe I should convince grandpa to take the other half of the Root too under his command. That would surely make Danzo do something reckless and that way Grandpa can finally see the real nature of that man.' Ken thought
Danzo had collected so many talented Shinobi with him and even trained them essentially making them perfect Anbus. Their mission completion rate was far better than other normal Anbus. They have no emotional attachments thanks to Danzo's training. If more of them joined the Anbus under the Hokage, the village would have no problem completing all sorts of dangerous missions fairly quickly.
Shikuro continued to explain why the other great villages were going to participate in the chunin exams.
"Kiri is probably participating to kill Genin of other villages while also showing that their methods of training their Shinobi is better to others. A bunch of bloodthirsty bastards they are."
"Kumo's reason to participate in the chunin tournament is to make peace with Konoha. Lord Hokage was thrilled after the Raikage accepted the peace terms."
"Kumo and Konoha would sign a peace treaty at the start of the third round of chunin exams when the Raikage himself will arrive in the village. Both the Damiyos of land of fire and land of lightning have already discussed the peace terms. It is only a matter of time before there are no more battles on the borders between the two nations." Shikuro was both thrilled and relieved to share this news. He was glad that his students and his son won't have to suffer in such conflicts and wars.
'Kumo is going to sign peace treaty during the chunin exams? Nothing of this sort happened in the anime. In fact, it looked like Kumo did not want peace and had an upper hand on Konoha. Maybe the additional Anbu forces made them view Konoha as a threat. The Raikage probably realised that a continued assault on Konoha would also lead to heavy losses for Kumo.' Ken thought as he praised himself for saving lot of lives that would have been lost between the battle of the two great villages, after all it was him who had convinced his grandpa to 'borrow' some Shinobi from Uncle Danzo.
'I even pissed Danzo off by taking away his Root Shinobi. Does it even get better than this?' Ken grinned mentally but stopped after he remembered something unpleasant.
'In the anime, did not Kumo try to kidnap Hinata for her eyes while they were in the village for signing the peace treaty? I don't think that they would try it this time around.'
'Ā does not seem to have the personality to kidnap a little girl for her eyes. There must be definitely more to Hinata's kidnapping but the anime did not bother to explain the facts.' Ken did not think much about it as he was more interested in the fact
on who all were participating in the chunin exams.
"So sensei, you mentioned that some pretty strong genins from other villages would be participating. Tell us more." Ken asked hoping to hear some familiar names.
"Well, Iwa is sending the third Tsuchikage's disciple, Deidara of the explosion release and his team. If that was not enough, he is also sending his granddaughter who possesses the Kekkei Genkai of Lava release. Of course, their team mates are also exceptional and talented." Shikuro said as both Kabuto and Itachi looked at Ken after hearing someone with Lava release was going to participate in the exams.
'Kurotsuchi was older than Naruto so it makes sense that she is going to participate in this chunin exams which is way before canon starts. Well, I would love to exchange some pointers on Lava release with her. She should have some pretty cool lava jutsus since the lava release kekkei genkai clan belongs to Iwa. In the manga, even Onoki had the lava release. I wonder does he have it in this world?' Ken thought
