This scene was too sudden. People had thought the duel would involve back-and-forth exchanges for more than a dozen rounds, yet after just one encounter, Zhang Lingfeng lay dead by Chu Hao's hand. Many people screamed, closing their eyes, especially those who had previously hurled insults at Chu Hao; they felt a cold shiver run from head to toe.
Just moments before, this fellow had worn a pretentious smirk. No one could have imagined that when he got serious, he could be so terrifying. Even Chu Hao's friends were shocked. How could he have just killed someone? It didn't fit his usual playful and smiling demeanor at all.

"You actually killed him!" roared one of Zhang Lingfeng's martial uncles.
Chu Hao calmly said, "He threatened to kill me. Did he think I was an easy target?"
