...
Fans speculated that the bare knuckle brawler realized the sinking ship couldn't be salvaged. He had taken matters into his own hands, managed to convince Ryback to join his mutiny, and officially severed ties with Sandro's leadership. If Barrett and Ryback were going their separate ways, creating their own splinter faction to survive the hostile locker room, it signaled the true, final death knell of the Undisputed System.
But the biggest question of all remained unanswered, What would the God King's reaction be?
The fans desperately hoped Sandro would break his digital silence. They constantly refreshed his social media pages, waiting for a fiery tweet, a recorded video promo, a legal threat, anything to indicate that he was still pulling the strings. But the billionaire prodigy remained completely, terrifyingly silent. Not a single word leaked from his camp.
As this mystery brewed online, the days quickly ticked by, moving the wrestling world closer to the weekend.
Saturday finally arrived, bringing the highly anticipated Over The Limit Pay Per View to the Pacific Northwest.
The gloomy, rain slicked streets of Seattle, Washington, stood in stark contrast to the electric, vibrant atmosphere building inside the KeyArena. Fans flocked through the turnstiles by the thousands, wearing their favorite superstars' merchandise, carrying colorful homemade signs, and buzzing with nervous, kinetic energy.
The card for the evening was incredibly stacked, promising a night of unforgettable violence and high stakes drama. The fans were paying their hard earned money to see the sheer brutality of Brock Lesnar versus Bobby Lashley in a lawless, unscripted Unsanctioned match, a bout that promised to be a grueling test of human endurance.
They were eager to see if Drew McIntyre could actually back up his bold claims and chop down the Big Show to claim his first singles championship in the company.
But underneath all the advertised matches, a single, burning question dominated the concourses, the merchandise lines, and the concession stands, Will the God King return tonight?
Sandro hadn't been seen since his painful defeat at Extreme Rules. With his faction collapsing, his mercenary turning against him, and his United States Championship gone, the fans felt that tonight was the logical place for him to reemerge.
Would he interfere in the main event? Would he attack Wade and Ryback? The anticipation hung thick in the air, creating a palpable sense of unease inside the arena.
The clock struck the top of the hour, and the lights inside the KeyArena dropped to pitch black.
A heavy, pulsing drumbeat echoed through the sound system, followed by a massive, blinding display of pyrotechnics that shot up from the entrance stage, illuminating the rafters with bright flashes of red and gold fire.
The camera swept gracefully across the sold out crowd, capturing a sea of waving signs. Some read "SUPLEX CITY BOUND," others declared "CLAYMORE COUNTRY," and a few simply asked, "WHERE IS SANDRO?"
The broadcast feed cut smoothly from the roaring audience to the ringside area, settling on the familiar faces of the commentary team.
"Welcome, everyone, to the Emerald City!" Michael Cole shouted, his voice fighting a desperate battle to be heard over the deafening roar of the Seattle fans. "We are coming to you live from the KeyArena, and tonight, scores will be settled, bodies will be broken, and careers will be altered forever! I am Michael Cole, alongside Jerry 'The King' Lawler and John Bradshaw Layfield, and we want to welcome you, whether you're watching live here in the building or tuning in from around the world, to the Over The Limit Pay Per View!"
Lawler was practically jumping out of his seat at the broadcast desk, a massive grin on his face. "Michael, I have had goosebumps since I woke up this morning! I honestly can't wait to see the matches that have filled this card tonight. We are going to witness absolute history! The main events alone are worth the price of admission. We have Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley in a lawless, unsanctioned fight to the finish. And of course, the United States Championship match between Drew McIntyre and the Big Show! I am very sure that the fans here live in Seattle, and all around the world, are feeling the exact same electricity!"
At the end of the desk, John Bradshaw Layfield rolled his eyes in disgust, violently adjusting his headset. "You two are delusional cheerleaders," JBL sneered, his tone dripping with venom.
"I look at this card and it makes me sick to my stomach. This Pay Per View is a monument to treason! I hate everyone involved in these main events. Drew McIntyre? A backstabber. Bobby Lashley? A greedy, ungrateful mercenary. Big Show? An opportunist who stole gold from a wounded man. The only reason any of these ingrates are relevant is because of the God King! Sandro Zhang built this company's current success, and you two are sitting here celebrating the very people who stabbed him in the back!"
"Sandro Zhang pushed his luck, John, and he paid the price," Cole countered swiftly. "And tonight, the WWE Universe moves forward. Speaking of moving forward, we are kicking off this massive event with high stakes! The World Tag Team Championships are currently vacant, and right now, two elite teams are going to clash to claim the gold!"
The arena lights dimmed, shifting to a vibrant, pulsing blue. A heavy, rhythmic drumbeat echoed through the sound system, followed by the fierce, traditional chanting of a Samoan Siva Tau.
The Seattle crowd erupted into cheers as Jey and Jimmy Uso burst through the curtain. The twin brothers stepped onto the stage, slapping their chests and executing their signature, synchronized war dance. They were intensely focused, their eyes locked on the ring.
Dressed in bright, colorful ring gear and traditional leis, the Usos marched down the long entrance ramp, high fiving the fans in the front row. They slid into the ring in perfect unison, climbing opposite turnbuckles and throwing their arms into the air, soaking in the admiration of the WWE Universe.
"Look at the focus of the Usos," Lawler praised. "These two brothers have tag team wrestling flowing through their veins. They want those vacant titles more than anything."
Suddenly, the lights cut out completely. A booming, incredibly theatrical voice echoed through the darkness of the KeyArena.
"OHHHHHH SEATTLE! DON'T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLAP FOR YOUR FUTURE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPS, AND FEEEEEEEEL THE POWER!"
The crowd went absolutely nuclear. The arena exploded in a wash of neon pink and bright blue lighting. The upbeat, infectious gospel funk beat of The New Day blasted through the speakers, instantly transforming the tense atmosphere into a massive party.
Big E and Xavier Woods burst onto the stage, skipping to the rhythm, while Kofi Kingston flanked them, holding a silver tray piled high with freshly made pancakes. All three men were wearing their brightly colored neon wrestling gear, complete with absurd, glowing unicorn horn headbands strapped to their foreheads.
Woods raised a shiny brass trombone to his lips and began playing the melody of their theme song perfectly, dancing alongside Big E, who was aggressively swiveling his hips in a hilarious, hypnotic gyration. Kofi tossed pancakes into the outstretched hands of the ecstatic fans as the trio made their way down the ramp.
"This is a joke! A complete and utter joke!" JBL yelled over the incredibly loud cheers of the crowd. "Look at them! They are court jesters! These three men used to be the elite, disciplined enforcers of the Undisputed System! Now they're wearing plastic horns and throwing breakfast food at people! They are traitors to the God King, and I hope the Usos knock their teeth down their throats!"
"They aren't traitors, JBL, they're free!" Cole laughed, clearly enjoying the spectacle. "The New Day is all about the power of positivity, and the WWE Universe is eating it up!"
The New Day slid into the ring, continuing their dancing as Woods played a loud, triumphant blast on the trombone right in Jimmy Uso's face. Jimmy didn't flinch, merely shaking his head with a tight, focused smile. Kofi handed the pancake tray to a ringside crew member and stepped to the outside, taking his place on the floor to support his brothers.
The referee stepped into the center of the ring, holding the two gleaming, vacant World Tag Team Championships high in the air for the Seattle crowd to see. The fans roared at the sight of the gold. The official handed the belts to the timekeeper, checked the legal men, Jey Uso and Xavier Woods, and signaled for the bell.
DING! DING! DING!
The opening contest of Over The Limit was officially underway.
Woods and Jey circled each other, the crowd buzzing with anticipation. They locked up in the center of the ring, a classic collar and elbow tie up. Jey used his strength advantage to back Woods into the corner. The referee called for a clean break. Jey backed away, but not before delivering a swift, disrespectful pat to Woods' chest.
Woods smiled, shaking his head. He stepped forward, caught Jey's arm, and executed a lightning fast arm drag, followed immediately by a drop toe hold that sent the Samoan crashing to the mat. Woods popped up, miming playing his trombone with his bare hands while Kofi Kingston cheered wildly from the floor.
"Great agility shown early by Xavier Woods," Lawler noted. "He has an incredible amateur background that gets overshadowed by the comedy."
Jey frowned, getting back to his feet. He charged forward, but Woods ducked a clothesline, hit the ropes, and came back with a flying headscissors takedown. Jey rolled through, tagging in Jimmy.
Jimmy vaulted over the top rope, hitting the ring with a head of steam. Woods tried for a hip toss, but Jimmy countered, spinning Woods around and dropping him with a stiff Samoan Drop.
"The Usos showing that seamless twin magic!" Cole called out as Jimmy hooked the leg. Woods kicked out at one.
Jimmy grabbed Woods by the hair, dragging him toward the neon-colored corner. Woods desperately reached out and tagged in Big E.
The mood in the ring instantly shifted. The massive, three hundred pound powerhouse stepped through the ropes, clapping his hands heavily together and staring Jimmy down. Jimmy threw a hard right hand. Big E absorbed it without blinking. Jimmy threw another. Big E just smiled, pounded his own massive chest, and shoved Jimmy so hard the Samoan flew backward into the ropes.
As Jimmy bounced back, Big E scooped him up effortlessly, showcasing his terrifying power, and drove him into the mat with a thunderous belly to belly suplex.
"Look at the raw power of Big E!" Cole shouted.
Big E dragged Jimmy to the corner and tagged Woods back in. What followed was a brilliant, highly entertaining display of New Day's unique offense. Big E stomped Jimmy in the chest, then tagged Woods, who stomped Jimmy, who then tagged Big E back in. It was the infamous Unicorn Stampede.
They rapidly tagged in and out, relentlessly stomping their opponent in the corner while Kofi Kingston cheered and Xavier Woods briefly grabbed his actual trombone from ringside to play a triumphant marching tune.
"This is a mockery of championship wrestling!" JBL complained loudly. "The referee needs to disqualify them for playing an instrument during a match!"
"It's effective teamwork, John!" Lawler laughed.
The New Day's dominance didn't last forever. As Woods went for a running splash in the corner, Jimmy managed to roll out of the way. Woods crashed face first into the turnbuckle. Jimmy quickly scrambled to his corner and made the hot tag to Jey.
Jey sprang into the ring, ducking a wild clothesline from a recovering Woods. Jey hit the ropes and delivered a beautiful, leaping flying clothesline. Woods scrambled to his feet, but Jey hit a spinning heel kick that caught Woods flush on the jaw.
"The Usos are taking control!" Cole announced as Jey dragged Woods to their corner.
For the next several minutes, The Usos put on an absolute tag team clinic. They cut the ring in half, utilizing quick tags and brilliant double team maneuvers to keep Xavier Woods isolated from his powerhouse partner.
Jimmy locked Woods in a punishing grounded chin lock, trying to squeeze the breath out of him. The Seattle crowd began to rally, clapping their hands in unison, feeding off Kofi Kingston, who was slamming his hands against the ring steps to create a rhythm.
"New Day Rocks! New Day Rocks!" the crowd chanted loudly.
Woods used the energy to fight to his feet. He delivered three sharp elbows to Jimmy's midsection, breaking the hold. Woods lunged for his corner, his fingertips inches away from Big E's outstretched hand. But Jimmy caught Woods by the ankle, dragging him back into hostile territory. Jimmy tagged Jey, and the twins hoisted Woods into the air, bringing him down hard with a double flapjack.
Jey went for the cover.
One. Two.
Big E stepped into the ring to break the count, but the referee forced him back out, allowing Jey to continue the assault.
"You have to admire the ring psychology of Jimmy and Jey," Lawler analyzed. "They know if Big E gets into this match, the dynamic changes completely. They are slowly dismantling Woods."
Woods was battered and exhausted. Jey whipped him into the ropes, lowering his head for a back body drop. But Woods saw it coming. He stopped his momentum, kicked Jey square in the chest, and followed it up with a desperate, spinning enzuigiri that connected perfectly with the side of Jey's head.
Both men collapsed to the canvas. The arena buzzed with nervous energy as Woods and Jey began the agonizing, slow crawl toward their respective corners.
"This is it!" Cole yelled. "Who is going to make the tag first?!"
Jey dove and tagged Jimmy. A split second later, Woods lunged forward and slapped the massive hand of Big E!
The crowd erupted! Big E charged into the ring like a runaway freight train. Jimmy threw a punch, but Big E ducked, grabbed Jimmy around the waist, and launched him across the ring with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Jey tried to interfere, but Big E caught him too, delivering a second belly to belly that sent Jey flying.
Big E hit the ropes, building terrifying speed, and launched his massive frame into the air, hitting a colossal running big splash directly across Jimmy's chest.
Big E hooked the leg.
One! Two!
Jimmy kicked out just in time.
"Big E is a one man wrecking crew!" Lawler shouted.
Big E pulled Jimmy to his feet, hauling him onto his broad right shoulder, signaling for the Big Ending. But Jimmy fought back fiercely, raining sharp elbows down on the side of Big E's head. Big E's grip loosened, and Jimmy slid out the back door.
Jimmy shoved Big E toward the ropes. As Big E rebounded, Jey, who had blind tagged himself in, hit the ring and delivered a lightning fast superkick that caught Big E right on the chin.
Big E staggered but didn't fall. Jimmy followed up with a superkick of his own. Big E dropped to one knee. Jey hit the ropes and delivered a running, sliding knee strike right to the face.
Jey hooked the leg.
One! Two! Thr—
Woods flew through the air, breaking up the pinfall with a flying elbow drop!
"What a save by Xavier Woods!" Cole screamed. "The World Tag Team Titles were seconds away from belonging to the Usos!"
The match officially descended into absolute, thrilling chaos. The referee lost all control as all four men began brawling in the ring. The Seattle fans were on their feet, completely captivated by the escalating intensity. Jimmy tossed Woods over the top rope, but Woods landed gracefully on the ring apron. Jimmy charged, but Woods hit a shoulder thrust to the gut, flipped back into the ring over the top rope, and nailed Jimmy with a devastating tornado DDT.
