...
Nikki let out a long, shuddering breath. She set the ice pack down on the table, pushed herself off the edge, and walked over, wrapping her strong arms around both of them. The Three Terrors stood in the middle of the sterile medical room, holding onto each other, realizing that they were the only true family they had left in this brutal industry. "I'm sorry, Lexi," Nikki whispered, kissing the top of Alexa's blonde head. "I'm just... I'm so angry. I'm hurting. I shouldn't have accused you of that."
"We believe you," AJ added softly, rubbing Alexa's back. "We know you wouldn't betray us like that."
They slowly pulled apart, wiping their eyes, the bond between them solidified in the face of the encroaching darkness.
"So, what do we do?" Alexa asked, her voice trembling slightly. "How do we fix him?"
"We don't let him push us away," AJ stated firmly, her dark eyes flashing with determination. "He thinks he can just detach himself from reality. He thinks he can treat us like independent contractors. But we are his foundation."
"AJ is right," Nikki agreed, a fierce, protective fire returning to her gaze. "He is drowning right now. He lost everything, and his brain is short circuiting. But we aren't going to let him become that monster he was pretending to be at the commentary desk."
"We are going to confront him," AJ declared. "We are going to corner him in that hotel room tonight, and we are going to force him to explain himself. We are going to remind him that he isn't just the God King... he is our partner. And whatever he is going through, we go through it together.".
"We bring the old Sandro back," Alexa nodded, wiping her face, a new sense of resolve settling over her. "Whatever it takes."
The camera slowly pulled back, framing the three women standing united in the medical room, ready to wage war not for a championship, but for the soul of the man they loved.
"What an incredibly powerful moment," Cole noted as the broadcast transitioned back to the arena. "Those three women just survived a physical war with each other, and they are putting it all behind them to try and save Sandro Zhang from himself."
"It is exactly what I was telling you, Michael!" JBL cheered loudly, slamming his hand on the desk in absolute triumph. "That bond is unbreakable! The Three Terrors are family! Sandro Zhang is a lucky man, and with those three women standing behind him, he will reclaim his empire in no time!"
"I don't know, John," Lawler sighed, looking highly skeptical. "They have a lot of heart, but did you hear Alexa? She said he looked at her like a piece of machinery. I think the Sandro Zhang they knew might be gone for good."
"We will have to wait and see how that volatile situation develops," Cole transitioned smoothly, looking at the time. "Because right now, gentlemen, we have reached the main event of Monday Night RAW! And it is time for the Franchise to step into the spotlight!"
The blaring, energetic horns of *The Time is Now* ripped through the stadium speakers.
The Stamford crowd, looking for a reason to genuinely cheer after the emotional heaviness of the evening, absolutely erupted.
John Cena burst through the curtain, wearing his bright neon green t-shirt and matching baseball cap, holding the United States Championship firmly in his hand. He sprinted down the long steel walkway, flashing his signature military salute, feeding off the incredible energy of the building.
Cena slid under the bottom rope, popping up to his feet instantly. He walked to the center of the ring, unstrapping the heavy gold and leather belt, and raised it high above his head for the four corners of the arena, drawing another massive roar from the fans.
Cena tossed his baseball cap into the front row and walked over to the ropes, requesting a microphone from a ringside crew member.
The music faded, leaving Cena alone in the center of the ring. He was heavily taped, his lower back wrapped securely, the physical toll of his brutal title defense against Drew McIntyre in Paris clearly evident. But he carried himself with the undeniable pride of a fighting champion.
"Stamford, Connecticut!" Cena yelled, his voice echoing clearly through the building.
The crowd roared in approval.
"Two weeks ago in Paris, France... Drew McIntyre and I went to absolute war," Cena began, pacing slowly, his tone grounded and serious. "He pushed me to my absolute physical limit. But when the dust settled, I kept my promise. I walked out with this United States Championship, and Drew McIntyre can never challenge for it again as long as I am holding it."
Cena tapped the heavy gold plate of the title resting on his shoulder.
"I said I was going to bring the prestige back to this championship, and that means taking on all comers," Cena declared, his voice rising in volume and passion. "I am not taking a night off. I am not hiding in the back. Because tonight, the John Cena United States Championship Open Challenge... is officially open!"
Cena tossed the microphone down, throwing his arms wide, looking toward the entrance stage.
The crowd buzzed with anticipation, wondering who from the RAW locker room was going to step up.
Ten seconds passed. The silence stretched.
Suddenly, the triumphant, orchestral horns of Ride of the Valkyries blasted through the PA system!
The Stamford crowd completely lost its mind! The pop was nuclear, a massive, deafening roar of absolute shock and pure joy.
"Are you kidding me?!" Cole screamed, practically jumping out of his chair. "Listen to this ovation! I don't believe who is walking out of that curtain!"
"This is incredible!" Lawler shrieked, throwing his hands in the air.
Stepping out onto the entrance stage, wearing his signature maroon wrestling trunks and kickpads, was the ultimate underdog.
Daniel Bryan had arrived on Monday Night RAW.
The former two time NXT North American Champion and former NXT Champion marched down the steel ramp, his eyes locked intensely on John Cena. Bryan didn't smile. He didn't point to the crowd. He carried the aura of a man who was out to prove he belonged at the absolute top of the industry.
"Daniel Bryan is here!" Cole yelled over the deafening noise. "The workhorse of NXT! What is he doing on RAW?! Has he been officially drafted to the main roster?!"
"Who cares why he is here?!" JBL scoffed, rolling his eyes. "He is a vanilla midget who got lucky in developmental! He has no business being in the same ring as a franchise player like John Cena!"
"Are you blind, John?!" Lawler argued passionately. "Daniel Bryan is one of the greatest technical wrestlers on the planet! He just answered the Open Challenge! This is going to be an absolute clinic!"
Bryan slid under the bottom rope, popping up to his feet instantly. He walked directly to the center of the ring, stopping just a few feet away from Cena. The size difference was apparent, but Bryan didn't look intimidated in the slightest.
Bryan requested a microphone from the ringside crew. He took it, looking at Cena, then looking out at the roaring Stamford crowd.
"My name is Daniel Bryan," he began, his voice calm but laced with intense conviction.
The crowd cheered his name loudly.
"I have spent the last year bleeding in NXT," Bryan continued, maintaining eye contact with the champion. "I have won championships. I have put on clinics. But I didn't come to this company to be a big fish in a small pond. I came here to make a name for myself on the biggest stage possible."
Bryan pointed a firm finger directly at Cena's chest.
"And what better way to introduce myself to Monday Night RAW," Bryan declared, his voice rising, "than going toe to toe with the benchmark of this industry. I want that United States Championship, John. And I want to prove that I am the best wrestler in the world."
The crowd erupted in a massive huge shout of cheers and Yes chant, completely backing the challenger.
Cena didn't look insulted. He didn't look angry. A wide, competitive smile spread across the champion's face. He nodded his head slowly, recognizing the incredible talent standing in front of him.
"It is very nice to meet you, Bryan," Cena replied without a microphone, his voice picked up by the ringside cameras. He tossed his neon green t-shirt into the crowd, revealing his heavily taped back. "You want an opportunity? You want to prove you're the best? Well... what are we waiting for? Let's get to work!"
The crowd roared in approval as Cena backed into his corner, readying himself for battle. Bryan tossed the microphone out of the ring, bouncing on his toes in the opposite corner, a fierce, determined fire burning in his eyes.
The referee stepped into the center of the canvas, demanding the championship from Cena. He took the title, turning to face the hard camera, and raised it high in the air, formally establishing the stakes for the impromptu main event.
The official handed the belt through the ropes to the timekeeper. He quickly moved to both corners, checking the boots and wrists of the competitors, ensuring everything was clean and legal.
Satisfied, the referee moved to the side and raised his hand toward the timekeeper's area.
DING! DING! DING!
The main event was officially underway.
The atmosphere in the XL Center was absolutely electric. The fans were sitting on the edge of their seats, fully aware they were about to witness a massive clash of styles, the raw, undeniable power of the franchise player against the elite, rapid fire technical prowess of the submission specialist.
They slowly circled the center of the ring. They locked up in a classic collar and elbow tie up. Cena, utilizing his significant size advantage, immediately overpowered Bryan, shoving him aggressively backward into the corner turnbuckles.
The referee stepped in, calling for a clean break. Cena held his hands up, taking a respectful step back.
As Cena backed away, Bryan exploded out of the corner with blinding speed. He didn't try to lock up again. He launched a blistering sequence of stiff, echoing kicks directly into Cena's heavily taped lower back.
Smack! Smack! Smack!
Cena winced, stumbling forward, completely caught off guard by the rapid fire assault.
"Daniel Bryan targeting the lower back immediately!" Cole analyzed excitedly. "He knows Cena went through a war with Drew McIntyre two weeks ago and there's still marks from that match! He is like a shark smelling blood in the water!"
Bryan didn't give Cena a second to breathe. As Cena dropped to a knee, clutching his spine, Bryan hit the ropes and delivered a devastating, running European uppercut that nearly took the champion's head off!
Cena collapsed to the mat. Bryan quickly floated over, hooking the leg.
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
Cena powered his shoulder off the canvas, throwing Bryan off him.
"Look at the aggression from the NXT call up!" Lawler praised. "He is not intimidated by the bright lights of RAW!"
"He's a pest!" JBL complained. "Cena just needs to grab him and throw him into the fifth row!"
Cena scrambled to his feet, a look of serious focus replacing his initial competitive smile. He realized Bryan wasn't just a technical wrestler, he was a highly aggressive striker.
Cena charged forward, looking for a heavy clothesline. Bryan ducked under it smoothly. As Cena turned around, Bryan leaped into the air, wrapping his legs tightly around Cena's head, and executed a flawless, high speed hurricanrana that sent the massive champion flying across the ring.
Before Cena could even hit the canvas, Bryan held on, rolling through the momentum and instantly locking Cena in a tight, agonizing LeBell Lock submission maneuver right in the center of the ring!
The Stamford crowd lost their absolute minds!
"He's got it locked in!" Cole shrieked, jumping out of his chair. "The LeBell Lock is applied in the first three minutes of the match! John Cena is in serious trouble!"
Cena screamed in pain, his face turning crimson as Bryan applied maximum torque to the champion's shoulder and neck, utilizing the crossface to pull Cena's head back at a sickening angle.
Cena clawed frantically at the canvas. He couldn't reach the ropes. He realized he couldn't out wrestle Bryan on the mat. Relying entirely on his legendary, freakish strength, Cena planted his hands and pushed up.
With a guttural roar, Cena slowly pushed himself up to a vertical base, lifting the one hundred and ninety pound challenger completely off the mat while still trapped in the submission hold!
"Look at the sheer power of John Cena!" Lawler yelled in awe.
Cena shifted his weight, adjusting his grip, and forcefully dropped backward, driving Bryan into the canvas with a desperate, heavy backpack stunner to break the hold.
The impact broke the submission, and both men lay flat on the mat, chests heaving, as the physical reality of the match set in.
"That was incredibly close!" Cole gasped. "Daniel Bryan almost shocked the world in record time!"
The match crossed the fifteen minute mark, escalating into a grueling, highly competitive war of attrition. Bryan continued to utilize his elite speed and technical precision to keep Cena off balance, focusing a relentless assault on Cena's damaged lower back with stiff kicks, precise knee drops, and agonizing submission stretches.
Cena, relying on his raw power and unbreakable will, absorbed the punishment, finding small windows to launch devastating counter attacks. He caught Bryan off the top rope with a massive mid air belly to belly suplex that shook the foundation of the ring, earning a very close two count.
The action spilled to the outside floor.
Bryan charged along the ring apron, launching himself into the air for a running knee strike. But Cena caught him perfectly in mid air. Cena hoisted Bryan onto his massive shoulders, looking to execute the Attitude Adjustment directly onto the thin ringside mats.
"He is going to end his career right here!" JBL yelled excitedly.
But Bryan fought out with frantic elbows to the side of Cena's head. He slipped down Cena's back, landing on his feet. Bryan shoved Cena hard, sending the champion crashing spine first into the steel ring post!
The sickening thud echoed through the front rows. Cena collapsed to the floor in absolute agony, clutching his lower back.
Bryan quickly rolled back under the bottom rope, allowing the referee to begin the ten count.
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
"THREE!"
Cena dragged himself up using the barricade, his face twisted in pain. He rolled back under the bottom rope at the count of eight, barely surviving the count out.
Bryan was waiting.
As Cena staggered to his feet in the center of the ring, Bryan backed into the corner, leading the Stamford crowd in a massive, unified chant.
"YES! YES! YES!"
Bryan charged forward with blinding speed, launching himself into the air, looking for his signature Busaiku Knee Kick to end the match!
The crowd roared in anticipation.
But John Cena's veteran instincts kicked in.
At the absolute last possible second, Cena dropped to the mat. Bryan soared completely over him, crashing heavily into the opposite turnbuckles.
At the absolute last possible millisecond, Cena dropped to the mat. Bryan soared completely over him, crashing heavily into the opposite turnbuckles.
As Bryan stumbled backward, dazed from the impact, Cena pounced. Moving with explosive speed that belied his massive frame, Cena ducked under Bryan's arm, hauling the challenger effortlessly onto his broad shoulders in the fireman's carry position.
"He's got him up!" Cole yelled. "The AA is coming!"
Cena didn't hesitate. With a fierce shout, he delivered a devastating, thunderous Attitude Adjustment, driving Daniel Bryan violently into the canvas!
The arena exploded!
But Cena wasn't done. He knew a simple pinfall might not be enough to keep the resilient challenger down.
Instead of going for the cover, Cena immediately grabbed Bryan's leg. He stepped over, twisting the knee violently, and locked his arms securely around Bryan's neck, locking in a deep, suffocating STF right in the dead center of the ring!
"Cena transitions directly into the STF!" Cole shrieked. "He has Bryan trapped in the middle of the ring! There is nowhere to go!"
Bryan screamed in agony, his face turning a deep shade of purple as Cena applied maximum pressure, leaning all of his weight backward to stretch Bryan's spine to its absolute limit.
Bryan clawed desperately at the canvas. He reached for the ropes, but they were miles away. He tried to adjust his weight, trying to find the same leverage he had used earlier, but the physical exhaustion of the twenty five minute classic had drained his reserves.
"Don't tap, Bryan! Fight it!" Lawler begged, fully invested in the underdog's effort.
But the torque was too much. The pain in his lower back and neck was blinding.
With nowhere left to go, his vision fading, Daniel Bryan finally raised his hand and slapped the canvas three times.
DING! DING! DING!
The blaring horns of The Time is Now hit the stadium speakers, washing over a crowd that was giving both men a massive, incredibly well deserved standing ovation.
"He tapped! Daniel Bryan tapped!" Cole yelled over the noise, his voice raw with emotion. "John Cena survives an absolute masterpiece of a match to retain the United States Championship!"
"What an unbelievable main event!" Lawler cheered, applauding wildly from the desk. "Daniel Bryan took the franchise player to the absolute limit! He may have lost the match, but he just proved to the entire world that he belongs in the main event picture on Monday Night RAW!"
"It was a valiant effort," JBL admitted, wiping sweat from his brow. "But John Cena is the benchmark for a reason. He endured the storm and proved why he is a fighting champion!"
Inside the ring, Cena released the hold, rolling backward and pushing himself up to his knees, his chest heaving with exhaustion. The referee handed him the United States Championship. Cena clutched it tightly, pushing himself up to his feet. Down on the mat, Daniel Bryan slowly rolled over, clutching his neck and lower back. He pushed himself up to a kneeling position, looking up at the champion.
