Chapter 26 - Chapter 026: Friendly Neighborhood Press Conference

"Why does this look a bit familiar?"

On the other side, Shawn's phone rang. He took it out, glanced at it, and the expression on his face became strange.

"What looks familiar?" Mira, who was leaning on his shoulder, asked casually.

Shawn looked serious. "Brad is seeking life advice from Mr. Shawn, but he doesn't know that Mr. Superman has just gained a brilliant idea because of it!"

Mira was confused and tilted her head. "What on earth are you talking about?"

Shawn had already stood up and changed into that familiar red and blue suit.

He smiled and said, "Superman's first major debut moment is about to begin."

He walked out the door, rose into the air, and vanished into the horizon in the blink of an eye.

Mira stood at the doorway, stroking her belly with a light laugh. "My dear, the way you act mysterious and try so hard to cover things up is still the same as before."

Trust stems from mutual understanding, and Mira found her husband adorably silly.

The children seemed to sense their mother's change in mood and kicked gently.

'Whoosh!'

SupermanShawn, having been seen right through, was now hovering above Rendell Town with his hands behind his back.

He hovered directly above the "House of Superman," looking down from above, his cape fluttering in the wind, like a god.

He slowly descended.

"What is that?"

More and more people below noticed a strange object standing above their heads.

"Look, it's Superman!"

"Superman! It's really him, I recognize his suit!"

"I have 1200-degree farsightedness; I can see Superman's face, and he's looking at me too!!"

"Ahhh! Am I not dreaming?! I'm going crazy!!"

Bursts of exclamation erupted, filled with surprise, adoration, and disbelief.

Some shady rats in the periphery felt that things weren't looking good and quietly dropped their placards on the ground.

On the other side, the interview was forced to a halt.

Ms. Jenny also noticed the commotion in the crowd. "Has Superman really come?"

Unlike Brad and Dalton, who had already excitedly stood up and were waving, she tried her best to remain elegant, slightly lifting her head to look up.

The spring sunlight was lovely. High above, the dappled light and shadow silhouetted the majestic figure of a man with his cape fluttering.

Ms. Jenny couldn't see his face; from her angle, she could only see a dark silhouette, witnessing a touch of mystery as Superman was obscured by the sunlight.

For some reason, the unflappable Jenny suddenly felt a flutter in her heart, but the feeling came and went quickly.

'Is it because of the shock...'

Superman's figure grew from small to large.

Under the gaze of many, it was as if a god were descending to the mortal world.

"Oh oh oh oh!!"

"Superman, Superman!!"

"Take a picture quickly, make sure you see my face!"

"Waaaah! Superman, you're finally here!!"

"I love you! Superman, I love you!!"

Amidst the cheers of countless people, Superman landed slowly, only a few meters away from everyone.

Standing about 191cm tall, with black hair and blue eyes, he had outstanding features and looked like a slightly taller big brother from next door.

"How is everyone doing?"

He looked at the excited, crowded, yet hesitant-to-approach crowd, revealing a gentle smile. "I am your friendly neighbor, Superman."

Never mind if it rhymes; use the slogan first.

The onlookers went quiet, then immediately erupted into even more fervent cheers.

It was exactly the same as what the "House of Superman" promoted; Superman really was this amiable!

This was so cool!

The effect was very satisfying.

Shawn even saw two women in their forties covering their flushed faces and spinning in place, looking like they were about to faint.

They had the intention to rush over, but fortunately, they were stopped by Gecko Matthew, who was working diligently nearby.

Matthew spread his arms to form a human wall, glanced back at Superman, a look of contemplation flashing across his dull face.

He thought to himself, Superman really knows how to cause trouble for others; compared to the thoughtful Mr. Shawn, he's absolutely terrible.

Under the gaze of the masses, Superman completed his first impression on everyone.

He was no longer a flat report on paper, no longer a superpower symbol that had appeared in videos, but a living, breathing Superman within arm's reach.

Jenny was also stunned by Superman's image for a moment. His handsomeness was already known to the world, but his temperament was so unique—possessing both kindness and majesty, ordinariness and mystery—that she could never have imagined it before.

No other superhero was like this.

Previously, more and more people had compared Superman to Homelander, believing that their strength should be roughly equal and their abilities very similar.

Now Jenny would say that they were completely different; Superman was one of a kind.

'How can there be such a charming man?!'

If looks and temperament equaled strength, Jenny didn't believe anyone in the world could be Superman's enemy.

Ms. Jenny's superhuman intellect kicked in at this moment. She quickly suppressed the shock in her heart and extended an invitation to the slowly approaching Superman.

"Mr. Superman, we are conducting an interview related to you. I wonder if we might have the honor of inviting you to participate yourself?"

Countless mobile phones and cameras were raised, aimed at this towering figure draped in a red cape.

Everyone was incredibly expectant of his answer.

Shawn looked at the woman opposite him, who was alluring yet professional, and felt a surge of emotion.

People's encounters differ; sometimes it's just like that, regardless of right or wrong, or regrets.

In the fallen and decaying world of The Boys, they all had their own bright futures.

"Perhaps you won't believe it, but that is exactly why I came."

Shawn revealed an open, honest smile. "From the day I appeared, there have been different voices defining me. Those are all inaccurate. I think it's time to let people know what the real Superman is like."

He paused, shrugged his shoulders, raised his voice, and said in a tone everyone could hear, "Right here, let's have a friendly neighbor press conference."

Jenny gestured an invitation.

The bystanders subconsciously cleared a path.

Behind them was the brand-new "House of Superman."

Brad and Dalton stood on the sidelines, accepting the inspection. Their emotions were so agitated they couldn't control themselves; they felt like their lives had reached the pinnacle.
