Chapter 37 - Chapter 037: Superman vs. Homelander (Part II)

Responding to him was an even harder punch from Homelander.

Homelander had already discovered that Shawn was a troublemaker; he wasn't afraid of the pressure of his words, so he had a simpler way to deal with such a person.

Blow after blow, the two superheroes went head-to-head, engaging in a fierce, superhuman-style brawl in the sky.

The booming sounds were like thunder in the horizon, and gusts of hurricanes were whipped up in the battlefield centered around them.

Homelander's blonde hair was tousled by the wind, but his expression was ferocious, determined to win this fight.

Waves of air rippled and spread out with a thundering roar, throwing the people below into chaos.

"Ahhh!!!"

"God, why are they fighting?!"

"Supersonic saved Black Noir, and Homelander came; is there some kind of misunderstanding here?!"

"Forget about it! Run! It's dangerous!"

...

The press conference had long been interrupted; the howling wind created an apocalyptic scene.

This scene was clearly captured by the cameras.

There was a brief communication between Homelander and Superman, followed by a sudden outbreak of fighting, but this didn't seem like a battle that could be resolved quickly.

In other words, Superman's strength far exceeded expectations.

Everyone was stunned; what exactly happened between the two during that brief communication just now?!

High in the sky.

Homelander's heart sank. For a moment, he was both shocked and angry, and there was even a trace of panic he hadn't noticed himself. In his thirty-one years of life, he had never encountered anyone who could contend with him.

In a clash of strength and body durability with Superman, he actually couldn't gain the upper hand?!

"Hmm? You can still be distracted while fighting Superman?"

Superman's voice was already by his ear. Homelander reacted, but he was still a half-beat too slow. An unprecedented, excruciating pain struck him as he was hit hard in the jaw.

'Whoosh—'

His body created a wave of air, and like a meteor, he was knocked toward the higher sky!

Superman's red cape fluttered as he gazed downward slightly, then in a flash, he also disappeared from everyone's sight.

In people's line of sight, they only saw the two's battlefield getting further and further away, becoming tiny dots difficult to observe with the naked eye, until they were completely invisible.

...

"Leave here quickly, don't stay below!!"

Supersonic shouted. As the only Superhuman on the ground at the moment, he quickly covered others as they retreated, yelling at a few reckless people: "Hey!! I told you to leave, stop filming!"

Poor Supersonic, his first brand-new appearance seemed to have been a bit botched.

Although they couldn't see them, they weren't necessarily safe, and they didn't dare to stay where they were.

The sounds of collision from high above were like thunder.

The ground was in chaos.

Brad and Dalton were so scared their legs went soft: "Why did they start fighting? Shouldn't this have been a great meeting?!"

They wished they could use their hands and feet together, wished they could grow two more legs, and in the end, they were carried out of the nightmarish scene by Supersonic, each grabbed by their clothes.

"Huff... huff..."

"That was too scary."

Several people hid in a wide-open area in the distance, panting heavily.

High above, the two god-like figures constantly gripped their attention.

Ten minutes later, they returned, bringing hurricanes and thunder, in a place that could barely be observed.

Supersonic looked up, and for a moment, he seemed to return to the scene when Superman defeated Bat-Freak.

But the current scene was far more shocking than that time.

The battlefield shifted again, and the two figures rose even higher; he had to squint his eyes to barely see clearly.

'Boom—!!'

'Boom—!!'

Every seemingly plain heavy punch exchanged between Superman and Homelander weighed at least hundreds of tons.

'Sizzle—!!!'

A bright light rose.

Two terrifying beams of light intersected in the air; the red energy rays, capable of piercing any material, were unable to push the other back upon collision.

Although Homelander's Heat Vision was scorching, it didn't seem to affect Superman, and this was his signature move!

At this moment, who was the real one?!

"Yaahhh!!!"

Madness and jealousy flickered in Homelander's eyes. He bared his teeth and let out a low roar from his throat. The Heat Vision from his eyes distorted the air in the high heat, but he was forced to deflect it for fear of hurting the innocent people below.

It wasn't out of kindness, but simply because Madelyn had said that doing so would cause Vought International unimaginable losses.

After a while, the beam clash ended.

"These damn people are holding me back!!"

Homelander stopped his laser vision indignantly, glanced downward, and instead used his Flight skills and speed to approach Superman. Now he could only rely on his powerful body to take the other down; he didn't believe Superman was truly without flaws.

He, Homelander, was the strongest Superhuman!

On the ground.

Supersonic felt like his eyes were a laggy computer screen; the Flight paths of Homelander and Superman were extremely difficult to capture. He could only see them at the exact moment of their clash!

'Too fast. Are these really creatures on Earth?'

In his sixteen years of life, he had never seen Homelander unleash such terrifying strength.

His title as the strongest Superhuman on Earth was well-deserved.

What made Supersonic even less able to calm down was Superman; he could actually keep up with Homelander's rhythm?!

God.

From his angle, Superman steadily caught the heavy punch thrown by Homelander. He appeared more composed than Homelander, his eyes seeming to reveal compassion, as he used absolute strength to suppress the other's violence, as if teaching an out-of-control child what a true hero was.

Homelander was gradually falling behind!

'So, Superman's strength is greater than Homelander's...'

Looking up at that red-cloaked figure truly soaring in the sky, Supersonic was completely lost in thought.

It was a pity that this scene could only be seen by him.

The reporters on the scene were struggling to film with their cameras on their shoulders, but they couldn't even manage basic focusing.

The two fighting flew back and forth at extremely high speeds, and the battlefield range was too vast.

Reflected on the screens of countless people on the internet, it was just two tiny figures occasionally flying by in the sky, sometimes colliding, sometimes flying backward, and sometimes two thin, thread-like Heat Vision beams shooting at each other.

Apart from that, the apocalyptic scene from the beginning never appeared again; the two's battlefield was too far away.

"Damn cameraman, his salary should be deducted!!"

"Vought International news department can go eat shit!!"

The live-stream viewers were almost dying of anxiety: "Can anyone say, Superman and Homelander, who is winning and who is losing?"

"I was happy for nothing just now; this great battle is like Onlyfans, ordinary people can't see the most exciting parts without paying."

"Please, is there any Superhuman who can fly and rush to the scene?"

There must be Superhumans who can fly, but they probably wouldn't dare to go join in the fun.

...

...

"Heh, the ceiling of Earth's Superhumans, truly strong."

After the brief clash, Shawn felt refreshed. Being able to go head-to-head and get injured made him wonder how Homelander died in the end; was it by Butcher with a crowbar?

Are you serious?!

Shawn had already tested Homelander's limits; in all fairness, he was really strong.

However, when playing in high-end matches, Homelander's shortcomings were still very obvious.

In terms of other abilities like Flight and Heat Vision, where everyone was on par, with both having LV6 strength, Shawn's power was clearly slightly superior.

And Homelander's recovery wasn't as good as his own, his body defense was also slightly worse, and he didn't have BUG-level talents like 'Bio-field' and 'Super Brain'.

Additionally, Homelander's 'Super Senses' were far worse than the 'Super Senses' he possessed.

All these differences added together...

Looking at Homelander opposite him, who was starting to pant heavily with a mix of shock and anger on his face.

Shawn revealed a smile that chilled him, "Little John, here I come~"

Perhaps he had successfully triggered a keyword.

Homelander ignored his image and roared: "Shut up!"

Anger was of no avail.

The counterattack began.

Shawn fully activated his 'Bio-field'. In an instant, his red cape flew, and his body radiated energy brilliance from the yellow sun; his LV5 speed suddenly increased to the limit.

'Hum—'

In Homelander's incredulous gaze, Shawn arrived right in front of him. His LV6 strength fully erupted, and every punch carried the roar of breaking the wind, striking Homelander fiercely.

'Boom!'

'Boom!'

'Boom!'

Homelander truly tasted the feeling of pain. He wore a ferocious expression and tried to resist, but under the suddenly increased difficulty of the confrontation, he couldn't keep up with the rhythm and was forced back to higher clouds.

"This is impossible!"

Homelander was still persisting. At this moment, his face was covered in blood, and there was a clear bruise on his left eye socket. But the Superman opposite him, who also had a punch mark on his face just now, had already seen it disappear in a mere dozen seconds.

His recovery ability is also stronger than mine?!

Homelander gritted his teeth and kept throwing heavy punches: "I haven't lost, I won't lose!!"

The air began to thin.

Shawn seemed not to notice, but Homelander, under the huge consumption, was gradually feeling powerless.

Their battlefield had unknowingly left everyone's sight.

'Boom—!!'

Shawn made a flying dash, viciously slamming into Homelander's abdomen, and violently carried him toward the more distant coastline!

"Fuck! What are you doing? Let go of me!!"

Shawn's speed was still too slow; long-distance crossing couldn't be completed in a short time. After realizing the danger, Homelander began to struggle fiercely.

His strength was also great, on the same level as Superman's.

As long as it wasn't a mandatory head-on clash, Shawn basically had no way to lock him down.

'Rip—'

In the end, at the cost of his upper-body uniform and the Stars and Stripes cape, Homelander successfully broke free from Shawn's grip.

He was furious, sweeping his laser vision at Shawn. As Shawn dodged, he suddenly approached, threw a heavy punch, and finally blasted Shawn away.

"Huff... huff..."

Homelander clutched his eye socket, panting heavily, and glared viciously at Shawn, who was hovering in the distance.

Then, he began to charge up.

'Is he going to risk his life?'

Shawn wiped the corner of his mouth; the place he was hit didn't bleed, but it really hurt.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, secretly focusing and guarding, not wanting to be turned around by Homelander at the last minute.

Homelander flashed, seemingly charging forward.

Shawn instinctively defended.

As a result.

'Boom—!!'

The sonic boom resounded across the sky.

Homelander, having lost his Stars and Stripes cape, flew off in another direction.

"Superman, I'll remember you!"

After leaving behind a maxim with zero lethality, Homelander flew away without looking back, and in the blink of an eye, only a tiny dot remained.

"..."

Shawn opened his mouth wide, stunned and speechless.

Didn't expect the dignified Homelander to flee in the face of battle?

Where was his backbone?!

Shawn realized he had been played by Homelander, and laughed in anger, "I'm not Butcher; you still have all your Superpowers!"

He didn't choose to pursue; he could win, but he couldn't crush the opponent yet.

However, beating up Homelander felt pretty good.

This not-so-perfect meeting didn't matter; he was very happy, just didn't know what Vought International and Homelander were thinking.

He was the Superman who could single-handedly take on Homelander; existing Superhumans and military weapons couldn't do anything to him.

As long as Vought International wasn't stupid, they should restrain themselves later on; at least they wouldn't come to pester him again.

Shawn stood high in the sky, letting his red cape flutter in the strong wind, the gold-stamped'S' icon on his chest shining in the sunlight. He gently wiped away a stain; thanks to the protection of the 'Bio-field', even his clothes weren't damaged.

He muttered to himself: "Next, it should be a bit more leisurely..."
