The Night Barracudas and the Dark Crabs were unpleasant opponents, but that wasn't what caused the look of shock on Adam's face.
He was impressed by the creativity of the Dark Crabs. They did everything they could to drag Adam beneath the island, closer to the bottom, and they succeeded, though not without casualties.
But these were ordinary foes against whom Adam had more than enough resources.
Given the size of the Gray Sea, he was still very close to the shore. Until he approached 100+ islands, it was unlikely that he would encounter any trouble on any of them.
However, this was only true if Adam himself was the monsters' target and he was on the surface rather than near the seabed.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
The massive Blue Jellyfish released one aura wave after another, in an attempt to overwhelm Adam or scare him off.
Unlike the Night Barracudas, the Blue Jellyfish didn't want to fight Adam, since its goal was something else, it wanted to get the Obsidian Compass.
