{Rigel's POV}
'''To you, my unknown successor, who finds themselves worthy enough to open these pages, I leave not mere spells, but the wisdom gathered across a lifetime. Healing is more than a magical discipline. It is the deepest dialogue one can hold with the very essence of life itself. With mana itself. My purpose in writing this chapter is not merely instructional, but to provide a platform for you to think, to reflect, and I hope my words resonate with the profound understanding necessary for those who truly wish to master the art of healing.
In my early days as a healer, I learned a truth from a fellow researcher that changed my entire approach: to heal effectively, you must first see clearly what you seek to heal. Many magical healers rely solely upon instinct or conventional magical incantations. Such methods, while occasionally effective, leave too much to chance. Healing requires utmost precision, as every body is unique. It requires a deep understanding of how mana moves within the human body, how intricately it intertwines with our flesh, bone, muscle, nerves, and even the mind itself.
Non-Magus medicine, a discipline I used to scoff at, has deeply inspired me, even though my colleagues still scoff at the very idea. "Why," they would argue, "should we, wielders of great magical power, look toward Non-Magus?" But it was through this humility and curiosity that I uncovered truths no wizard had yet seen clearly.
The Non-Magus's meticulous charts of bones, muscles, nerves, and even their primitive attempts to map the pathways of thought were revelations passed down through their generations. I realized true healing magic could reach its full potential only when combined with these insights. By peering through their insights and experimenting on my own, I created a few spells that encode my own insight into how to heal.
I used Parseltongue for these spells because it is an untouched language. I would rather not go into detail on how incantations came to be. But Sanskrit, which is used in most spells here, and even Latin from abroad, is a language that is already colored, and thus polluted with people's understanding of mana.
The reason a dead language is normally used for spells is to keep the spells from getting polluted, and that's why, for this entirely new framework of healing spells, I choose Parseltongue. The serpentine script is simple, yet within its scrawls I could imbue my own understanding without someone else polluting my insights with their own.
Spell I. Mending Fractured Bones: "Ssath-Netharss"
When a bone breaks, the mana channels surrounding it are violently disrupted. Conventional bone-mending spells are brutal and fast, forcibly knitting bones without care, leaving hidden weaknesses behind. Thus, I sought to develop a gentler spell: its Parseltongue invocation is Ssath-Netharss. This incantation works slowly, as it uses the body's own mana, persuading it to restore the damaged bone by following the body's natural healing process, but at an accelerated rate.
To mend bone effectively, visualize clearly how the mana naturally circulates within healthy bone tissue. Your mind must map this carefully for each individual injury. When you chant the spell, "Ssath-Nethar," allow your intent to flow through the spell, urging mana to rebuild bone gently, forming cartilage first and then gradually mineralizing into a stable, stronger structure. This slow healing is far superior, ensuring durability, flexibility, and long-lasting health. The staff movement and stances for each spell are added as a table at the end of the chapter.
Spell II. Healing Torn Muscles: "Sslythiss-Vasharss"
Muscles, unlike bones, are flexible and, to fully exert their strength, need to maintain their elasticity. With Sslythiss-Vasharss, the spell is imbued to gently guide mana to thread together torn muscle fibers with perfect alignment. Ensuring each muscle fiber is correctly attached to its counterpart.
Before casting the spell, picture clearly the intricate weave of muscle fibers, envisioning mana as threads carefully weaving themselves around the torn muscles. Whisper the incantation slowly, each chant carefully elongated, allowing mana to rebind the fibers one by one. Patience is critical here: rushing can cause scarring and stiffness. It is one of the spells that require patience the longest, as without proficiency, you need to treat every individual muscle fiber one by one.
III. Restoring Damaged Memories: "Thess-Menir"
Healing broken and damaged memory is a delicate process. Unlike muscles and bones that are physically present. Memories are the imprint of our soul that is easily accessible in our mind. A damaged memory is like a scar, and more often than not, it would resolve on its own. The first step, thus, to healing damaged memories is to determine when healing is required and when it is not.
Repairing memory is perhaps the most intricate part of healing, for the mind is sensitive and easily damaged. Thess-Menir uses Parseltongue to guide mana softly into these manifested scars on the soul, and attempts to reconnect broken memory strands. Only upon using the spell would you ever be able to envision what I'm about to describe, as it is unlike anything I have ever seen.
Before you attempt this spell, your patient needs to be calm, or better yet, unconscious. Next, clearly envision delicate silver threads connecting the mind to a metaphysical projection of the soul, some frayed or broken. With the utmost care, incant "Thess-Menir," guiding mana to prod at the scars visible on the projection, trying to force the stored memories of the soul to reproject them to the mind and make them accessible once again.
Remember, no magic in this world can ever take away someone's memories, as they are always safely stored inside the fortress of their soul. You just need someone skilled enough to prod these memories back to the surface.
Note: This spell can also be used to treat Nerve Damage, although I'm enclosing a more specific spell to do that next.
IV. Repairing Nerve Damage: "Nashal-Rynis"
Nerve cells are quite different and difficult to heal. It's not a common injury, and more often than not it is the result of a dark curse. So be careful and remove the traces of dark magic before proceeding with the treatment. Nashal-Rynis is a spell that guides your mana and changes it to electrical impulses combined with healing magic. This spell was developed by scrying into the future and learned from imitating a muggle technique called shock treatment.
The spell needs to be used in conjunction with a potion that helps rebalance some of the ingredients the body needs to handle these electrical impulses.
While using the spell, visualize nerves as delicate branches of a network that's always buzzing with energy. When you chant the spell "Nashal-Rynis," allow your voice to vibrate gently, coaxing mana to send a shock that traverses this network, followed by a pulse of healing mana that strengthens these connections with each pulse.
V. Diagnostic Spell for Mana Clusters: "Vysh-Shaal"
Not all injuries are obvious to the naked eye. To heal, you must first locate all hidden damage that someone has endured. Injuries in the body create distinct mana clusters and leave behind damage in the tapestry of life itself, places where mana gathers where it shouldn't, and even attempts by the patient's mana to regenerate tissue instinctively are signs of damage. Vysh-Shaal is a diagnostic spell that reveals these changes to your senses.
When whispering this incantation, try to extend your senses and trust your instincts. Mana clusters become obvious beneath your fingertips, dense, glowing points marking hidden wounds or subtle internal injuries. Your skill with this spell directly influences your healing effectiveness. Never underestimate the power of a clear diagnosis, knowing precisely what to heal is half the task accomplished.
Beyond these practical instructions, I must re-stress something fundamental: the importance of Parseltongue in these spells and even in general healing spells. I discovered this extraordinary gift after realizing conventional spells failed to channel mana with sufficient precision.
The dead languages of Latin or Aramaic lack flexibility. Their mana resonance is more rigid, polluted by the times. Parseltongue, however, is alive, untouched, and powerful.
Yet, heed my warning carefully: Parseltongue is very sensitive to intent. Emotions profoundly influence its effect. Anger, fear, or anxiety can warp the spells, causing unintended harm. Thus, before you attempt healing with Parseltongue, master your mind and heart. Discipline, whether through Occlumency or meditation, is essential.
Additionally, understanding space magic vastly improved my healing abilities. Mana does not simply heal, it can reshape reality. If you can grasp space magic's fundamentals, you can transport damaged tissues safely out of the body or gently reposition misaligned bones or nerves, reducing pain and speeding healing exponentially. Even more extraordinary possibilities await those patient enough to master both arts.
In conclusion, these lessons come not merely from pride in my discoveries, but from profound humility and endless curiosity. I hope, above all else, you recognize healing as I have. As a sacred trust, the most beautiful dialogue between wizard, mana, and life itself.
I leave you these spells, these insights, this understanding, in hopes that you will surpass me in the future. May your healing touch restore life, health, and hope.
If your mana aligns harmoniously with these words, if you grasp fully the significance and sensitivity of what I offer, seek my hidden sanctum. For within it lies far greater knowledge...a legacy awaiting only one worthy enough to continue this journey.

Staff Movements and Mana Infusion:
I. Ssath-Nethar – Mending Broken Bones
Begin by standing comfortably, staff vertical, the butt resting upon the earth. Inhale deeply, pulling mana slowly upward along your spine. Feel the warmth pass through your heart, traveling upward to gently fill the gemstone at the staff's tip. The gem should glow softly with pale gold light, indicating it is ready.
Once your gem is charged, gently raise it until level with your brow. With deliberate, calm motions, draw a slow clockwise circle in the air over the fracture. Picture clearly the bone segments you aim to mend, then draw a second, smaller circle within the first. Your movements must be smooth, don't rush or hesitate.
Now, gently tap the gem to the patient's skin, precisely above the injury. Whisper softly, "Ssath-Nethar," drawing out the final syllable with a long, steady hiss. Mana should gently seep into the fracture, prompting cartilage to form first, then solidify naturally into bone. Maintain a calm breath, visualizing the bone slowly and flawlessly mending itself.
Note: Move slowly and deliberately. Each rotation of the staff helps guide the mana.
May your mana flow ever clear,
Dhanvantari.'''

AN: Consider this whole chapter as part of the book that Rigel found.
First attempt at this new system of magic. Rigel will pick up a staff for now, and then slowly create corresponding spells for the wand based on how the mana flows, though it will take a full year or two for him to do that.
