Chapter 1
"I might just pop by for a surprise check-up," Lydia Mitchell said, worried that something might happen in the few days she would be away.
It was hard enough to stabilize her pregnancy; if there were any more incidents, her old heart wouldn't be able to take it.
Sofia Hamilton smiled sweetly, "I got it, Mom, don't worry. I won't do anything reckless."
While she agreed readily, inside she was overjoyed, eager to tell Ryan Gregory to come back...
Lydia wanted to stay, but due to her cold, she had to sigh and say, "I'll just have to trust you for now."
With that, she continued packing her things.
Sofia helped on the side, wanting to see her mother-in-law off downstairs, but Lydia refused.
"I'm catching a cold, so you better not follow me around. If you catch it, it'll be a problem. Besides, don't keep using the stairs. Stay in your room and be good."
"Well... Mom, take care of yourself on the way back and remember to take your medicine on time."
