Aurelia Wood didn't want to cause any unnecessary misunderstandings, so she denied it, "I wasn't with him. I left early because of something, but I was in such a hurry that I couldn't tell you."
"Is that really the case?"
"It really is."
Her answer was somewhat guilty, especially in the face of his sharp gaze.
Unexpectedly, Arthur Baker asked again, "What was the matter?"
That question really stumped her.
For a moment, she couldn't come up with any specific reason, and could only stammer, "It's... it's about work... I can't explain it in just a few words."
Her response was full of loopholes, and her expression was evasive.
Arthur Baker knew her very well; she was definitely lying with that demeanor.
But since she chose not to say, no matter how much he asked, it would be in vain. She would surely lie to deceive him.
However, he was certain about one thing: she might indeed be with Kevin Gregory.
