Chapter Nine
Aurelia Wood thought Kevin Gregory was just joking, but to her surprise, he really took her shopping for a bunch of things.
They didn't buy anything for the baby, but they bought a lot of things she could use, including more than a dozen maternity clothes. She also replaced all her shoes with comfortable flats. If she hadn't said she was a little tired, there's no telling how much more Kevin would have bought.
On the way back, looking at the bags piled on the sofa, Aurelia felt a headache, "So many things, how are we going to take them all back later?"
"Don't worry, I won't let you carry any of it." As he spoke, he sat down beside her and helped her rest her legs on his lap, gently massaging them, "Feel any better?"
Watching him massage her tenderly, Aurelia's heart felt sweet, like she was a queen cherished in the palm of his hand. It seemed as if whatever she asked for, he would surely grant it.
