Nia Mitchell looked as if she wanted to cry but couldn't, her mind racing.
"I signed it because I was drunk."
Nia finished speaking and nodded emphatically, as if to convince herself.
"You left with your suitcase because you were hungover?"
Despite his unwillingness, Maxwell Peary still shot her an irritated glance.
Nia looked a little awkward and reached up to scratch her hair.
"You were the one who left first last night! You were the one scaring people with that stern face! You forced me to say..."
She herself was confused about whether she loved the CEO or not.
But if Maxwell Peary didn't love her, why would she choose to love him?
Love had to be mutual; a one-sided love was simply too painful.
Maxwell Peary suppressed his anger, trying his best to soften his voice. He didn't want to scare Rabina Mitchell and then have to coax her. Besides, he couldn't bear to frighten her.
"Nia Mitchell, haven't I done enough? Is that why you can't see how I feel about you?"
