Seven years was ample time to get to know someone.
Perhaps Nia couldn't pinpoint exactly what had happened, but she could sense that something was off.
Fiona bit her lip, looking embarrassed, and chuckled weakly. "Nothing serious, we just... had a bit of an argument, I suppose."
Well, it was an argument, I guess.
Hearing they had quarreled, Nia frowned.
It was common for Fiona and Charles Northwood to argue, but this time it felt different. Ever since Fiona had returned early from abroad, alone, things had felt very off.
"Fiona, I hope you can tell me if anything's wrong. After all, we're good friends."
Fiona sighed and waved her hand dismissively, feigning impatience.
"It's nothing. Drop it."
Seeing her like this, Nia felt powerless.
"Alright. I hope the three of us can be friends for life. If there's any misunderstanding, you two should talk it out properly before it escalates and becomes irreparable."
Nia advised, then focused on her driving.
