He still resolved to choose the one with a stronger backer. If these two young women really are frauds, I'll just have to accept the consequences, he thought. Offending Chairman Zhu would mean losing his job, and at worst, he'd just return to his hometown; he had some savings, after all. But offending Young Master Peary? He might very well lose his life.
