Nia Mitchell woke up in the middle of the night.
Her wrist throbbed with a dull ache, and as she opened her eyes, she saw Charles Northwood asleep by the bedside.
She moved slightly, feeling very thirsty, with a dry and uncomfortable throat.
Even such a slight movement woke Charles Northwood from his sleep.
He immediately lifted his head and saw Nia Mitchell's eyes open in the soft yellow light.
"You're awake?"
His voice was also hoarse, seemingly due to a lack of proper rest.
Nia Mitchell nodded, feeling very at ease in familiar surroundings.
"You must be thirsty. I'll get you some water."
Saying this, Charles Northwood immediately turned to leave for some water.
Nia Mitchell struggled to sit up, reaching for her phone on the bedside table.
She checked the call log, looking disappointed.
She didn't know what happened that night, nor did she understand about Maxwell Peary and Belinda Swan...
"Here's the water."
