"Really? Already a grown-up?"
Maxwell Peary's mouth curled into a smile as he reached out and lifted her onto the countertop.
"Yeah, I am a grown-up."
Nia Mitchell nodded repeatedly, as if there was no doubt about it.
"Of course, our Nia has always been a grown-up."
As he spoke, he pinched her little cheek.
"Absolutely."
Nia Mitchell raised her eyebrows triumphantly, as if she had won against the CEO.
Only, the latter half of the CEO's sentence was...
impossible to take seriously.
"If you weren't a grown-up, wouldn't I be breaking the law? And you couldn't have a baby."
Saying this, Maxwell Peary leaned in and stole a kiss.
"Uncle, you're being a rogue!"
Nia Mitchell immediately pushed him away, then covered her small mouth with both hands.
"Haha, only a rogue with you."
Maxwell Peary laughed at her actions and reached out to pat her little head.
