Andrew Davidson reached out to help her stand up, then prepared to leave.
Suddenly, Shirley Grant grabbed his arm.
"What's wrong?"
Andrew looked at her, puzzled.
"Sorry, my foot's numb. Can I lean on you for a while?"
For some reason, at this moment, the person offering her help was Andrew.
"You can lean as long as you want."
Andrew just stood there, speaking gently, yet his face was expressionless.
"Don't stand barefoot on the ground."
He hesitated for quite a while before finally reminding her.
Shirley looked down at her feet, then shifted her gaze to the high heels nearby.
"It's okay."
Since Alan Morgan left, no matter what she did, it seemed okay.
No one would care, no one would show concern.
Even if she died, no one might find her body.
"Is it worth mistreating yourself like this?"
He had overheard some of their conversation just now.
Although he didn't know what had happened exactly, it was clear they weren't happy.
"How is this mistreating?"
