Vera Wave wasn't normally one to fuss over clothes, but this was not an ordinary dinner. The realization that the guests of honor were Kris Cooper's parents made her heart race and her palms sweat.
Far away, she spotted a summery dress on a mannequin in a shop window, and her eyes brightened immediately.
"Honey, what do you think of that one?"
Kris Cooper looked up to see a delicate, pale blue dress on a model in a display window not far away.
The dress was simple, with expertly crafted details. Its color, reminiscent of a clear sky after rainfall, was particularly refreshing at first sight.
