While Vera was still lost in thought, the car had already driven back to the Cooper family's old mansion.
Tommy Taylor got out and helped her open the car door, quietly reminding her, "The old gentleman doesn't know yet. I just told him that Mr. Kris is working overtime, so please don't let it slip."
Grandpa Cooper was getting on in years, and people his age naturally couldn't bear such a shock. Vera, of course, understood this.
"I know," Vera nodded lightly. "It's late. You should head back. I'll contact you tomorrow morning."
"Just call me if you need anything."
Tommy Taylor nodded. He watched her climb the steps, open the door, and go inside before driving off.
"Miss, you're back?" Auntie Zhang, the servant, naturally had no idea what had happened. Seeing Vera return, she immediately welcomed her in with a smile. "Are you hungry? Shall I make you some supper?"
