After the police car arrived at the prison, the transfer procedures were quickly completed.
Vera Wave, clutching her newly issued prison uniform, followed a female officer toward her cell.
As soon as the two entered, the three female prisoners already inside immediately jumped down from their beds and stood straight beside them.
"Alright, you'll sleep on this top bunk." The female officer pointed to the bunks on the right side of the cell. Her stern gaze swept over everyone. "No fighting, no bullying new people, understood?"
"Yes!" the three women answered in unison.
When the female officer left, Vera turned to tidy up her bed.
A young female prisoner approached her. "Hey, what are you in for?"
Vera adjusted her pillow.
"Murder."
Upon hearing that word, the young female prisoner immediately retreated two steps, a fearful look appearing in her eyes.
Just then, the female prisoner who had been standing before the opposite bed approached, sizing Vera up.
