The speedboat was already out of range, and firing a whole clip of bullets was just her venting her anger.
"Damn, damn, damn...!"
Memoria cursed angrily, looking around. This was an abandoned dock, and there were no other boats. She grabbed Inspector Chen's collar.
"Where are your people?!"
If Inspector Chen's reinforcements had arrived on time, Arfen Finch and the others wouldn't have had a chance to escape. Watching that guy slip away right under her nose, Memoria was unwilling to accept it.
"They... they haven't arrived yet," Inspector Chen said, somewhat apologetically.
This area was remote, and it would take time for reinforcements to arrive.
"A bunch of useless people!"
Memoria shouted angrily.
Inspector Chen hung his head, speechless, and James Xavier walked over, patting his shoulder.
"She's just angry, don't take it to heart."
Inspector Chen shook his head to show he wouldn't mind, "I'll contact the maritime police to see if they can intercept them."
