Outside the Hospital.
Brook Xavier's brows were furrowed tightly together as he once again asked out loud.
"How many seconds are left?"
He asked these five words with great difficulty.
A couple of days ago in Hong Kong, he had sent a message to Logan Bennett because Logan was at sea at the time, and with no signal on his phone, he hadn't received it.
It wasn't until Logan returned that he got the message and called back.
By that time, Logan's son was out of danger, and knowing his son was fine, Logan didn't tell Summer Gardner about it. He just continued to stay with her in A Country, to prevent her from rushing back to Bitterford to see their son in the hospital.
In two more days, the two would be returning home. If something bad were to happen to Logan's son, how could he, as the uncle, face them?
"General." A subordinate glanced at the numbers on the timer, "One second left!"
In that instant, everyone held their breath.
One second felt like a century.
