Chapter 13 It's Time For Consequences
Izuku had thought that once he got into UA, things would be slightly better for him at school. Even if the change was for the remaining two months. He was wrong. If anything, things got worse. At least from the student's side. The teachers' treatment however did a 180°, as if they hadn't been looking the other way, whenever he got bullied, and beaten blue and black for the last three years. It made Izuku sick to his stomach.
Their words, and actions got harshers. Calling him a cheat who tricked his way into UA. (As if anyone could cheat their way into UA.). They said there was no way someone as worthless as him could get into UA. Izuku for his part, would like to think he was doing a decent job, at ignoring them.
He ignored them even when the number of pretty red spider lilies increased in his desk and locker. He'd quietly pick them up as he ignored their laugh and sneers and throw them away before Katsuki entered the class. He ignored the stumps in his shoes, or their attempts at pulling away his chair right when he was about to seat. He ignored them when they'd 'accidentally' walked into him and dropped his tray of lunch. Telling Katsuki he wasn't hungry even though his stomach was on the verge of eating itself.
He could ignore all of it, but he couldn't ignore how sick he felt whenever he lied, or hid the truth from Katsuki. Knowing his friend will relay it to his mother. He had barely managed to hold him back from telling his mother about the way he was treated. Resorting to emotionally black mailing him to keep him silent.
" It's fine Kacchan, it's just words."
It wasn't. But no one else had to know it. Izuku was so grateful for having the Regeneration skill. It was probably the only that helped Izuku keep his treatment at school hidden from his Dad's perceptive eye.
Izuku found himself on the rooftop, feeling the chill winter wind caress his cheeks. He had a notebook in his hand, the one which contained the designs for Katsuki's costume that they were supposed to send by the end of this week. It was the second last period, a free period for them, and Izuku decided to take a break from the suffocating atmosphere in the class.
Izuku perked up when he heard footsteps coming up to the rooftop, but froze right away when he realized there were more than one set of footsteps.
Shit.
Izuku panicked, eyes wandering around to find an escape. But he was on the rooftop, and there was only one to run, and that was to… jump.
Technically— theoretically— Izuku can jump off roofs and be safe. He had jumped off and on roofs during his parkour runs enough times. But he only jumped off buildings with at least more than 10 floors, giving him enough time to activate Pull, and drag himself up to safety. He glanced down. 4 floors. 40 feet. Roughly 12 meters. That'd give him— Izuku eyed the door to the rooftop— 2 seconds, give or take. He could climb up to the higher part of the rooftop, but that'd be useless if the ones coming up had a quirk that gave them flight ability.
Izuku had wracked his mind to find several possibilities to escape, but in the end, when the door burst open, and three of classmates, along with two second year walked out, Izuku found himself frozen in spot.
He could run and escape for now and deal with their wrath later. Or he could deal with it now, and be done with it.
Later on, Kacchan might get involved. That'd be bad.
Izuku pressed his lip together as the boy with the quirk to grow spikes approached him. Sneer plastered on his lip, his lackeys tagging after him. Izuku's initial warning had only lasted a few months. And ever since third year started, it was like he had completely forgotten about it. And Izuku had held back from using his Dominance ever since. Dominance's skill was too high for them, and it could crush them. Izuku could never willingly do that to them. He had enough power to fight back, but refused to. If they didn't target, they'd target someone else. And Izuku had the skill to heal himself. The others didn't.
"Well, if it isn't the Hero wannabe." He said.
Izuku glanced at the two juniors. One of them had slits for pupils, and their canines were peeking out behind their lips. A possible snake based quirk. The other kid had no such physical attributes to analyze from.
"So you got into UA, hmm?" Izuku pressed his lips together when the boy grabbed him by his jaw, hard. It'd most likely bruise. His homeroom teacher had declared loud and clear during the first period about the results. All the while, looking directly at him, with his lips upturned in distaste.
"How did you do it?" He let go off his jaw only to grab his collar and tug him closer. The boy glared at him, head tilted, sneer darkening, "Hmm? How did you cheat?"
Izuku bit back his retort. I didn't cheat! It would only make things worse.
The other guy leered at him, and Izuku felt a feeling of revulsion pin prick on his skin, "Or did you owe someone a favor there? I wonder what kind."
Izuku felt sick at the implication, and looked away. That was a mistake. The boy clutching onto his collar, pulled onto it hard and growled. "Oi, look at me when I talk to you."
"Senpai, is the UA really that good if they allow people like him to enter?" One of the juniors, the one with a snake quirk, asked.
"Nah, it's probably some kind of mistake. There's no way someone as pathetic and worthless like him got in," The boy clutching onto him replied. "Isn't that right, loser?"
He shook him, spikes from his hand digging into his skin. Izuku winced at that. Just a little longer.
"The fuck you aren't answering me for?" The boy growled, "Huh? You think you're some hot shot because you got into UA?" He let go of him and pushed him back, "Please, it's probably some kind of mistake. It won't be long before they find out and you'll get blacklisted from all highschools."
Izuku winced as the boy jabbed his fingers into his shoulder, pushing him back further until his back hit the guard rail. "You're stupid if you think UA would make mistakes like that." He mumbled, only to instantly freeze up.
Curse me and my big mouth-
The sharp pain from the spikes digging into his skin made him cry out loud.
"The fuck was that, you fucking bitch?" The boy growled, "You expect anyone to believe you got into UA? You had to cheat, the same way you cheated to get a quirk right?"
"What do you mean, senpai?" The other junior asked with feigned innocence.
"Oh, this guy here," The boy sneered, "He used to be quirkless. Isn't that right?"
Behind him, he heard the two juniors gasp, and then gag. "Quirkless? Really? Wow. How is someone like him our senior?"
"How is someone like him alive? "
"Good question." The boy chuckled and pushed onto Izuku "Huh? Why are you alive?"Another push, "You're just a waste of space anyways." Another push. "Didn't I tell you to take a swan dive off the roof?" Another push, hard, stronger and-
The door to the rooftop, once again brust up, a familiar blond walking in with his hands stuffed in his pockets. "Oi, Zuku-" He looked up, eyes going wide. " Zuku!"
Izuku realized a second too late, after glancing at the shocked expression of his tormentors. And then, he was falling.
" Izuku! " Katsuki yelled, hands outstretched over the railing. Eyes wide with… fear. An emotion Izuku never thought he'd see on his face.
Izuku felt his finger tips brush against Katsuki, before he was out of reach. Even if he fell, he knew he'd still have a life left. But… but, that kind of thinking was wrong. He couldn't just rely on his extra lives. Not everyone had that privilege.
And this wasn't a lost case yet. He had the skill required to save himself. He had it, he just needed to-
Izuku outstretched his hand towards the edge of the rooftop, and activated Pull. He used his other hand to brace himself, just in case he hit the ground. Falling on his back, while Pull tugged him upwards would result in his spine breaking. He couldn't afford that. He could afford a broken arm.
Izuku hissed in pain as his right arm grazed against the ground, but he didn't have the time to think about it before he was being pulled upwards. Izuku used his feet to push himself off the wall of the building, before falling onto the roof top and rolling to a stop.
Ouch…
He snapped his head up when he heard the sound of familiar explosions. His eyes widened when he saw Katsuki cornering the other five students at the edge of the roof. And even just from his back, Izuku could feel the pure rage radiating off him. The thick smell of banana floated around the air. Izuku looked at Katsuki's hand from where droplets of flammable sweat dripped down at a steady rate.
Shit.
Shit, he's going to kill them-
"Kacchan!" He called, pushing himself off the ground, and immediately rushing to his friend, and wrapping his hand around his body, and arms to hold him back. "Kacchan stop!"
"Izuku…?" Katsuki glanced back, confusion evident in his voice, "How-" He snapped his head back to the boys, "Let me go."
"No, Kacchan. Stop."
"Let me go, Izuku. I swear I'm going to fucking kill them." He growled, "I'm going to fucking kill them." He hissed, voice trembling with anger. He struggled within Izuku's hold, "How dare you? How dare you fuckers do that. "
"Kacchan, no-"
"They fucking pushed you off the roof, Izuku!"
"It wasn't intentional-"
"Are you fucking kidding me?!"
"Kacchan listen to me. If you fight, you'll get in trouble and then you won't be able to get into UA!" Izuku blurted, "It's fine! I'm fine! I'm here! It's okay, just let them go. Please, Kacchan."
Katsuki paused for a second, before saying in a low, terrifyingly calm voice, dripping with venom "Get the fuck out of here before I bury you all alive."
The five boys whimpered in fear before scrambling to get out of the place. As soon as the door to the rooftop slammed shut behind their hasty exit, Katsuki broke free from Izuku's grasp, and walked away.
"Kacchan!" Izuku called after him, unsure of what the blond might do if he didn't calm down soon.
Katsuki harshly opened the door, before walking back into the main building. Izuku followed as the boy walked down a few steps, before sitting down. He watched as the blond hunched over himself, and pressed his hand over his mouth, letting out a long shuddering breath.
"Kacchan?" Izuku called hesitantly.
"Shut the fuck up." Katsuki snapped.
"Kacchan I'm sorry-"
"The fuck are you even in apologzing for? Almost dying? " Katsuki snapped, whipping his head around. Izuku took in a breath before pressing his lips together into a thin line and walking down till he was crouching in front of his friend.
Something was wrong. Despite being angry, Katsuki didn't sound angry.
"Kacchan, I-" Izuku stopped, his eyes meeting Katsuki's. That's when he realized, that Katsuki wasn't angry. He was terrified.
And-
And Izuku didn't know he would ever see that expression on his friend's face except for that one time with the Sludge Villain incident and-
The realization hit him like a bucket of cold water. The day, during the sludge villain incident, when Izuku had actually died, Katsuki had been there by his side. Even if his friend didn't know the truth, he had still seen him fall limply on the ground. And between the time when Izuku died, and then woke up in the hospital, a lot of time had passed. That meant, Katsuki most likely carried him to the hospital, or to Shouta, whichever was quicker. Or, he must have called for help, and waited beside Izuku, unsure if his friend was alive or not, for god knows how long.
And now, the same boy just had to see Izuku fall from the rooftop, and almost die, yet again.
Of course he's terrified.
How did I not think of this-
Gosh, I'm so-
"I thought you said the bullying stopped, Izuku." Katsuki hissed. His eyes fell onto something, and Izuku heard him take a sharp breath, "The fuck-"
Izuku looked down and found blood dripping off in a thin trickle down his arm. Probably caused by his arm grazing across the ground. Guess this was what was stinging.
"Hey, nerd," Katsuki said, voice suddenly more serious than he had ever heard before, "Did the bullying ever stop?"
Izuku hesitated for a second. Out of habit, he was about to say no, but Katsuki looked so… terrified, he ended up shaking his head, and said softly, "No."
Katsuki sucked in another sharp inhale, "How the fuck did you dad not find out? Maybe somehow, you managed to hide it from me and Auntie, but how the fuck did you hide it from him?"
"I…" Izuku looked down at his hand, "I can heal myself…"
Katsuki looked conflicted, "What…. How? Your quirk isn't healing though…"
"It's-It's part of it…"
Katsuki stared at him. Red eyes boring into his soul. Izuku could see him compartmentalizing at the moment, before he declared, "I'm telling your dad and Auntie Inko."
Izuku felt his blood drain, and freeze. "No…"
Katsuki shook his head, "I don't fucking care whatever bullshit reason you have for not telling your parents. But I have had fucking enough. Fuck those pieces of shits. Fuck this school. I'm telling them."
"Kacchan! No, please-"
"The fuck, Izuku?" Katsuki yelled, "They almost killed you!"
"I-"
" Listen to him, kid." Izuku flinched when he heard Shigaraki's voice, and saw him sitting next to Katsuki. Usually, during his school, he'd block them away, for multiple reasons. But right now, in his panicked state, he had slipped control-
" You could've died, if it wasn't for your fast thinking." He said.
" The hell is wrong with these kids! " Banjo grumbled.
Nana looked at him from behind Katsuki with a concerned frown.
"If you don't want to do it for yourself," En said, "Do it for the ones weaker than you."
"En-" Nana started.
"This whole place is rotten down to its core." En continued, "Even if you leave this place after two more months, there are going to be others who suffer like you. This time, you survived, but what about the others?"
I…
Izuku clenched his jaw, and gritted his teeth. Curling his hand into a tight fist.
"Okay…" He finally said, in a soft voice. "Okay, Kacchan."
"Fucking finally," Katsuki breathed out, "Gimme your phone."
"What- Why?"
"I'm calling your dad. Why the fuck do you think?" Katsuki grumbled, "Or do you want me to call Auntie right now?"
Izuku snapped his mouth shut. No. Not his mom. She had told him before leaving today that she would be attending an important workshop today. And Izuku would hate to disturb her. Plus, his mom would freak out if she found out about this, and then Izuku would freak out. And then they would both start crying, and without Shouta that would end badly.
Katsuki pretty much snatched the phone out of his hand, and quickly opened it before dialing the number. Izuku waited nervously, while nibbling on his lips. He flinched when heard the call connect and-
"Where the fuck are you?" Katsuki grouched.
"When can you get back?" He asked after waiting to get a reply.
"-Zuku told me you expelled your class, what the fuck are you even doing-"
"-Fine. Can you get back within a couple hours? It's important. It's about Izuku." Katsuki glared at him, "Because some fucker thought it was good fucking idea to hide important shits from people."
"No. We'll talk after you get back, because the fucking nerd will lie about it, until I fucking force him to spit it out."
"I don't fucking care. It's been going on for long enough."
Katsuki waited as Shouta replied before huffing and ending the call. He tossed the phone back at him. He pointed his finger at him and growled, "If you even think about running away from this, I'll break your fucking leg."
Izuku pouted. "Hey I'm not-" His words fell silent when Katsuki raised and eyebrow. Huffing out a sigh, Izuku admitted his defeat and slumped his shoulder. He felt Katsuki grab his hand once again, before lifting it.
"What are you doing?" Izuku asked as Katsuki took a picture of the wound.
"Collecting some fucking proof, you fucking idiot." Katsuki grumbled.
"It's not-"
"Just shut the fuck up, Izuku. You're getting on my nerves."
"...I'm-"
Katssuki groaned, and dropped his head into his hands, "For fucks sake-"
Izuku pressed his lips shut, and sat down next to his friends. He noticed the still present tenseness in shoulders, or the way his breathing was still a little too quick. Katsuki was still panicked, if not terrified, and Izuku decided to just… let it be for now.
Katsuki didn't move even when the bell rang, signaling the end of the beginning of the last period. Izuku stayed by his side. It wasn't until the final bell, signaling the end of the school, rang throughout the building, did Katsuki get up and drag him down with him. It was weird seeing the boy with such a neutral expression on his face. Devoid of the usual frown, or scowl.
Logically, he knew that the incident that day might have affected Katsuki. Except he didn't expect it to be this bad.
***
In life, there were a lot of things that Izuku couldn't bear. Looking at his Mom crying was one of them, All Might's disappointed look, looking at Katsuki's terrified face, and… the broken look on his Dad's face.
He didn't even need a telepathic connection to know that he was feeling guilty, blaming himself even though it was Izuku who decided not to tell them the truth. It wasn't often that he saw the look on his face, but each time he did see, it hurt. And-
I'm going to cry…
"I'm sorry…" Izuku whimpered, lips quivering and vision blurring as he stood in front of Shouta, head bowed in shame, and bandaged arm curled around his waist. He felt a hand on his hair, ruffling them slightly.
"I'm not mad at you," Shouta said, "You didn't do anything wrong. You're not in trouble."
And Izuku is well aware of that, even without the telepathetic link. The expression on Shouta's face said it all. It's not mad at Izuku for not telling him earlier, but he's mad at himself for not noticing earlier.
But then his eyes hardened with a steely gaze that Izuku only sees when he's working on Dabi's case, or it is something related to Hawks, and Project Wings, or he's tracking down a huge trafficking ring. Essentially, the look on his face meant he was enraged, and determined, a scary combination if you'd ask Izuku.
Because the few times he had seen it, the next day the news talked about large drug trafficking rings being uprooted, or about the arrest of a big bad villain who had been hiding in Underground community for a long time.
"I'm going to have a talk with your Principal."
If it had been his mother, Izuku would have protested because he had seen first hand how much she had to suffer when he was still quirkless. Izuku might have been young, but he wasn't stupid. And now that he was older, he knew how the authorities essentially told her to 'be content with whatever you get, and be grateful we're even letting a quirkless child be here'. (Izuku had always been told he has a near perfect memory, but because of his quirk, he could recall anything and everything.) Izuku would rather suffer for the years to come until he became a pro, than let his mother go through any of that again. And back then, Shouta still worked as a freelancer Hero, and wasn't that famous in the Underground Society, or had much support. Just enough to live by.
But now… things were different. Izuku knew that. Shouta's titles said enough.
Aldera is screwed…
Izuku should feel bad. But, before he had come back home, he had to step in between one of the third years of another section bullying a second year with mental quirk.
So, right now, he only feels bad about all the lying he had been doing for the last so many years.
"-I'm going to have to tell your mother." Izuku realized he had spaced out while Shouta was still talking.
"...will she be upset with me?" Izuku asked, hesitantly, "Because I was lying to her… and you all this time?"
Shouta sighed, "I can't speak for Inko, Izuku. But I don't think she will get mad, or upset. Just worried. Because she cares about you, buddy. Just the way I care about you. And the people who care about you are going to worry about you whether you want them to, or not. Not because they are obliged to, but because they want to, and choose to. Okay?"
Izuku sniffled and nodded. Then he mumbled, "Why does that sound like something my mum would say?"
Shouta snorted, and ruffled his hair once again, "Because she did, and I'm just pirating it."
Izuku chuckled weakly and wiped his eyes. "I'm sorry…"
"I accept you apology, kiddo." Shouta replied, crouching down to meet his eyes, "Just next time, please tell me, or Inko, or anyone you feel comfortable with when you're hurting. Okay? You're not alone."
"Okay…"
***
Shouta liked to consider himself a rational man. Motivated by logic, spite, and want to save people. He didn't do more than he absolutely needed. Didn't think he needed it. He liked to keep everything organized, so that he could find what he needed within the least possible time. Too many things in life meant too many things to look after. It was a risk Shouta wasn't willing to take.
He didn't do emotions, because emotions affect his work. Happiness makes people drop their defenses. Makes them susceptible to dangers. Sadness chains people down. Anger makes them blind. To Shouta, emotions became nothing more than baggage. So, no, Shouta didn't do emotions. He couldn't afford the luxury of it.
Because the last time he had let himself be hopeful of something bright, it was crushed mercilessly under rubble.
The last time he had himself be a little lenient, it was ripped into, and left to rot with bloodied holes.
Hizashi and Nemuri were the only people he allowed him the privilege of being friends with because he knew they were more than competent enough to look after themselves. Present Mic was in the top 50 and Midnight handled multiple cases for a reason.
But of course, it wasn't like people cared about what he thought. Izuku most certainly didn't. Disregarding every rule Shouta had ever made for himself. He made him care all over again, grow soft, hopeful.
Shouta didn't get angry often. Anger was draining, and exhausting, and it blinded people. And Shouta knew, more often than not, acting up in rage would make him do things he'd end up regretting.
But still. Right now, after seeing the wounds on Izuku's body, after hearing the story from Bakugou, he felt boiling anger in his veins. Ever since he met Izuku, he knew society wouldn't be fair to him. It's fucked up like that. And no matter how much he wanted to homeschool him, he couldn't afford it. Not as new in the field, Underground Hero. But, by the time he could afford it, things didn't seem as bad. God he had been so stupid. Just because Izuku stopped coming home with wounds on his body, he assumed things had gotten better. Just because Izuku smiled more often, he thought the bullying had stopped. Despite knowing that Izuku is freaking good at hiding emotions if he thinks he's sparing someone else from the pain.
He's an Underground Hero, for god's sake. He's supposed to notice things like. He's supposed to sniff out things people are trying their damn hardest to hide.
Sucking in a sharp breath, and pinching the bridge of his nose, Shouta pulled himself together and counted numbers till he could calm down.
Technically, he could have Adera in serious trouble just for the bullying itself. But, for the teachers to neglect and add to that bullying? Shouta wouldn't be satisfied until he had burned that place down to the ground and made sure every single of those so-called teachers had their careers destroyed.
And he needed Nedzu for that.
For any other time, he wouldn't even think about asking for that rat's help. Three years under his tutelage, and 7 more years working under him, Shouta had absolutely refused to ask for any help. But for Izuku, he was willing to.
And he knew, from the number of times Nedzu had asked about 'Midoriya-kun' ever since the Entrance Exam, Nedzu would be more than willing to destroy Aldera.
It was only a matter of who got to do how much. Because if Nedzu snatched the whole case from him, he will fight him. Rat God or not.
Chapter 14 First Day Are Always Nerve Wracking
Izuku wasn't sure what happened afterwards with the problem. He didn't bother finding out about it. He didn't want to bother with it, after the conversation between him, Shouta and his mother. There weren't that many school days afterwards anyways. (He had somehow managed to convince both of them to hold back any actions until the exams were over.) February isn't a big month anyways, and they had a lot of study breaks to prepare for their finals. Over all, Izuku only had to attend two proper weeks at most, excluding the exam period, before his Middle School life came to an end.
He felt like it didn't happen quick enough.
As soon as the graduation ceremony was over, Katsuki was dragging him out of the gates. 'I don't want to stay in this shitty school longer than I have to' was his reason. Katsuki, and his family, along with Izuku and his mother (Shouta couldn't come, as couldn't Hizashi or Nemuri, because the third year students of UA were also graduating around the same time. And he was a homeroom teacher. ) But that's okay because Shouta spent the entire evening with him. And the time between Izuku came back to him, and until Shouta came back, he had a lot of fun playing with Dabi.
Dabi got him a graduation present as well!
It was a snowglobe with an empty tree inside, from which icicles descended, and snowflakes floated around in the liquid. The whole thing reminded Izuku of Dabi's new quirk. And, he found out later that day, that the snow, and ice glows in the dark in a shade similar to Dabi's flames. It was perfect. It went right on Izuku's table where he could see it any time he wanted.
Dabi also sneaked him an extra serving of ice-cream after dinner with a wink and a grin.
***
And then before he knew it, the academic year started all over again. Only this time, instead of standing in front of Aldera, he was standing in front of UA. And okay, he was freaking out internally because, the moment he stepped past the gates, he would essentially be stepping closer to his dream of becoming a Hero. He most likely would have stayed there, freaking out, and fan boying if it wasn't Katsuki snapping at him, and practically dragging him inside.
In the end, Katsuki cussed him out when Izuku stopped for the fifth time while walking towards their class, and simply left him there to his excited mumbling while he stomped over to their classroom. (Yes they were sharing classes once again. And yes, this would be the 10th consecutive year that they would be sharing class. And no, there were no external influences. Yes, this was entirely coincidental like all the other times.)
In the end, Izuku managed to focus long enough to reach their classroom. It took ten minutes, but that's okay, because Katsuki liked to reach the classroom 15 minutes before class started anyways. And since he had dragged Izuku with him, Izuku was able to reach his class with time to spare.
However, Izuku did have to stop in front of his classroom— 1 A, holy shit am I dreaming? Is this a dream? Please don't wake me up if it is. Shigaraki I swear to god, if you disturb this dream, I'm going to fight you. — The door slid open, and Izuku walked in on a commotion.
Katsuki in usual style was sitting at his seat, with his legs propped up on the desk, and arms crossed across his chest. While Tenya Iida— Oh my god, this is already bad. And class hadn't even started. — was scolding him? Reprimanding him? About his actions.
Don't get him wrong, Izuku loved his best friend, but sometimes he just wanted to smack his head. Hard. Because he's currently actively provoking Tenya Iida.
"Remove your foot from the desk! Such an action is insulting to those who came to UA before us, and to the craftsmen who made this!" Iida said, chopping his hand up and down.
"Like I care." Katsuki taunts, "What Middle School are you from, extra?"
Oh no.
Oh, no, no, this is bad.
Tenya Iida is from an elite private middle school, Izuku knows that. (Tensei is an adorably doting brother.) Katsuki absolutely hated kids from elite middle school because of how they would look down on them being from an unknown school like Aldera. And Of course, Katsuki replied to Iida exactly how he expected him to. And Iida gasped (quite dramatically) in response.
That's when Izuku decided to step in.
"Kacchan." He called, gaining both their attention.
"What the fuck is it, nerd?" Katsuki growled looking at him. He's probably still pissed from Izuku dilly dallying earlier. Izuku ignored the growl, and looked at his friend, then at his feet before looking back up at him.
" Katsuki ." Izuku said once more. A little sterner because he would really, really prefer if Katsuku doesn't make enemies on the very first day of school. Like, please.
Katsuki growled, rolled his eyes, and huffed. But he did put his put down, and looked away. Ah, I'm going to get ignored later on for that.
"Midoriya!" Iida turned his attention towards him, and oh no. His last few interactions with the boy did not go well. Izuku leaned away slightly out of instinct as Iida stomped his way towards him, hands chopping ( Why is he doing that? ) as he approached him.
"You perceived the true nature of the practical exam, while I did not. I hate to admit it, but you were the superior candidate." Iida looks positively constipated while saying that. Izuku would feel bad if it weren't for the confusion.
"What do you mean?" He blurted.
"You figured out that the exam wasn't just about fighting the villains-"
"But I didn't?" Izuku tilted his head. Sure he had thought of the possibility, given that this was UA, but honestly he didn't have enough clues, or time to figure out anything before the exam started.
"Pardon?" The way Iida came to a halt reminded Izuku of cars. He was pretty sure Tensei would laugh at the joke. But that aside, Iida was taller than him, bigger than him, and Izuku didn't exactly have a good time with him in the past, so he shuttered.
"I-I- have no idea what you're talking about…"
"The Rescue points? You figured it out!" Iida replied like it was obvious.
"I had no idea about it," Izuku replied. He honestly didn't. He had thought he would get 83 points and that's all. "I-I just saw Uraraka-san in danger and my body just moved without thinking. I-I honestly wasn't thinking-"
Why Iida looked like he had just been hit by a truck was beyond him. But before he could say anything, a somewhat familiar, chirpy voice called for him.
"Oh! Bunny boy!"
I'm sorry what-
Katsuki snorted. Izuku didn't actually see him snort, but he heard the snort and he knew it was Katsuki.
"Oh! Uraraka-san." Izuku greeted back with a bright smile. If it wasn't for the fact that his Aunt is The R-Rated Hero, Midnight, he probably would have blushed seeing how cute Uraraka looked in the winter costume.
Why are there so many good looking people in my class, it's unfair-
The girl, Uraraka, looked slightly surprised before she smiled, her cheeks tinting with color. "You remember me!"
"Ye-Yeah."
"Uraraka-kun!" Iida greeted. Uraraka beamed at the boy as she skipped inside. Izuku stood awkwardly at the gate as they talked about orientation ceremony, and guidance session. He really wanted to get past them, and settle in his seat. But there was no way to do so without interrupting their happy conversation. And he would be really bad if it did so. Izuku glanced at Katsuki, and found his friend's eyes twitching in annoyance before he looked at him. Izuku sighed mentally and slumped his shoulders.
But then just as quickly, he straightened up when he felt a presence and turned around-
It took a lot of self control not to burst out laughing seeing his Dad on the floor, inside of his yellow sleeping bag, and looking every bit like a demented caterpillar (part of his mind was panicking after realizing he was going to have his Dad as his homeroom teacher. What are the odds?)
Izuku felt his hand itch to grab his phone, take a picture and send it to Dabi.
"If you're here to make friends, then get out." Izuku sobered immediately. No funny business during class time. And around the same time, the rest of the class came to a standstill as well. "This is…" He sucked the last bit from his jelly pouches, "the Hero Course."
"Only two of you noticed me," Izuku spotted Katsuki staring at his Dad utterly dumbfounded, "and it took 7 seconds to quiet down. Not good enough for Heroes-to-be."
Izuku had to press his hand over his mouth to smother his snickers as he stood up and zipped open the sleeping bag, before stepping out. From the corner of his eyes, he noticed Katsuki opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water, and a familiar purple head boy slowly raised his head, as his eyes widened, as he mouthed, ' Eraserhead.'
Shouta sent him a subtle look, and Izuku immediately scampered towards his designated seat.
"I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shouta. But, you will be calling me Eraserhead." He said while digging into his sleeping bag, and pulled out multiple gym suits ( How big is that thing? ) "Take these and move to the P.E training grounds."
Izuku was up and out of his seat without a question, quickly followed by Katsuki. His Dad just used his Eraserhead voice and that meant business.
"You didn't tell me your dad was going to be our fucking homeroom teacher!" Katsuki hissed as they walked towards the P.E grounds.
Izuku smiled at him, a picture of innocence. "Well to be fair I didn't know he would be our homeroom teacher."
Shouta nodded at them in acknowledgement as they walked out to the ground. Izuku spotted the way his eyes glinted with amusement as Katsuki glowered at him before he stomped away while muttering under his breath.
Izuku could practically see his Dad— no, Aizawa-Sensei— mentally making notes in his mind as each seconds passed without any student in sight. The first time, apart from them, was the purple haired guy.
"Oh for fuck's sake, he's like your hobo dad." Katsuki huffed.
Izuku blinked. Huh.
He hadn't noticed it before, but he could see the similarities. The tired persona, similar postures, complete with hands stuffed inside of his pockets, and eye bags under his eyes. Though, he did see the way his eyes practically lit up when he saw Sensei, and his pace picked up slightly as he stood next to him.
Oh my god, is he an Eraserhead fan? Izuku internally squealed.
"Hello!" Izuku chirped, smiling warmly at the boy. The boy, on his part, blinked owlishly at, surprised before pointing towards himself. Behind him, Izuku heard Sensei huffed quietly and lowered his face into his Capture Weapon.
"Um… Hi." The boy replied.
It took a total of five minutes for all the students to reach the P.E ground, before forming a crowd. Izuku listened with barely hidden excitement as Sensei explained how they were going to take a Quirk Apprehension Test.
"But what about the orientation?" Uraraka asked innocently. And oh , Izuku winched mentally. U.A was known for its freestyle education system. And that expanded to the teacher as well.
Villains aren't going to wait for you to finish your orientation. You will have three years before you become Heroes. It's illogical to waste time on frivolities." Sensei replied. "50 meter dash, side steps, long jump, ball throw, sit ups, long distance runs— the normal gym activities."
"Bakugo." Shouta— Sensei, Izuku, Sensei! — called. "What was you ball throw score in Middle School?"
"67 meters." Katsuki answered.
"Now step inside of the circle and throw this soft ball as far as you can with your quirk." Sensei said, pointing to the white circle on the ground.
Katsuki in his true fashion blasted the softball into the air while screaming ' Die! '. Izuku blinked as the air was blown away from the effect of Bakugo's quirk, an exasperated smile on his face as he thought, ' As expected.'
Shouta— Sensei, sensei, sensei dammit— turned the device in his hand to show the score. 705.3 meters.
Huh. Impressive.
And apparently most of the students around him had similar thoughts as they whispered among themselves.
"Wow."
"It's important for us to know our limits, that is the first rational step to figuring out what kind of heroes you'll be." Sho— Sensei explained, pushing his hair out of his face.
"That's awesome!" Someone from the crowd said.
Izuku winced. Uh ho. Dad's not going to like that.
Izuku had learnt the hard way (he had to do extra sets of every exercise he did, and Dad whooped his ass hard during spars.) that Sensei didn't like it all when someone took understanding the fundamentals of Heroics lightly. There is nothing fun about training to become a Hero. " You're training for a dangerous profession that quite essentially puts your life in danger every day. There is nothing fun about it, Zuku. "
And it was something Izuku believed as well. Especially after the Sludge Villain incident, and the attack at the Mall. He had come close to dying in both cases. There is nothing fun about being Hero and Izuku knew that first hand. Not taking it seriously is what got a lot of rookie heroes killed.
"Awesome huh…" He heard Shouta— For god's sake— Sensei mutter.
Sensei slowly turned around, practically looming over the students. (Even Bakugo took a step back from where he stood.) "You're planning to become Heroes in three years, and you think it'll be all fun and games, huh?"
"Right. The one with the lowest score across the events will be judged hopeless and expelled from my class."
Izuku pressed his lips in a thin line. He knew what Sensei just said was harsh, and cold. But, but, he also knew that Shouta would rather crush their dreams than watch them die as Heroes. He still remembered clearly as the day the first time one of his students had died on duty. It was one of the few times he had seen his dad look absolutely heartbroken.
It was also from then, that Hizashi and Nemuri said, that he started mercilessly expelling students who didn't meet his expectations.
"But it's only the first day!" Urakaka protests, "I mean, even if it weren't… it's unfair!"
Izuku felt his hand twitch.
Unfair?
Kacchan almost died because some heroes weren't good enough.
Dabi fell into a coma, and was declared dead.
The kids in the malls didn't ask to be traumatized and held as hostages.
"Unfair?" Katsuki spat, cocking his head to the side as he eyed Uraraka with disdain, "You think it's unfair, huh round face? Well newsflash for ya, nothing's fair in life."
"The world isn't always going to be fair," Izuku added, in a much calmer and softer voice as compared to Katsuki. He knew Uraraka didn't mean anything by her words. It was highly unlikely that anyone in this class has had a near death experience where nothing was on their side, and everything felt unfair. "People die all the time. Because of villains, natural disasters, stray quirks, incurable illness. Not everything is going to be fair. There are always going to be disadvantages. We can't pick or choose what happens to us. We just have deal with it, and work with what we have"
And Izuku had accepted that fact ever since the first time he had died.
The class around him fell silent. Which, Izuku guessed, is understandable give the depth of his speech. Some looked shocked, and some looked concerned. Except for one, the purple head next to him and-
Izuku sucked in a sharp breath when he saw a familiar face with a dual toned face. Todoroki Shouto.
Oh god.
Right, he's supposed to be in my class.
"It's as the two said," Shouta— Screw it, I give up. It's still weird to call him Shouta. I rarely do that anymore — "Heroes are the one to correct all that unfairness. You have only three years to learn to do so, use your strength to overcome it all, so bring it. That's Plus Ultra."
***
They started with the 50 meter dash. They go as per their score during the Entrance Exam. (Because Shouta most likely didn't bother making any list by himself beforehand. Most likely wanting to see his students' skill first before coming up with a list.)
Izuku took his position next to his friend. A grin on his face as he side-eyed Katsuki.
"Ready…"
[Sprint Level 7 is in Effect]
"Set…"
[Fire Breathing is In Effect]
[All Stats have Increased!]
"Go!"
Sprint at Level 7 would increase his speed stat by 2 times, and Fire Breathing would further increase it by 0.5 times. That would easily raise his speed stat to high 300s. Enough to keep up with Hawks from the first time they raced, and even beat him. Which may have been an overkill for the 50 meter dash. But hey, it was a Quirk Apprehension Test and he was supposed to use his quirks as efficiently as they could.
"0.143 seconds!" The machine beeped.
And okay that definitely was an overkill. And now Izuku felt bad for using his skill. He should've used Fire Breathing instead. That would have increased his speed only by 0.5 times. And it would have taken him 2 to 3 seconds to complete the run.
And-
"Stop." He heard Shouta say quietly as he walked past him, "Don't overthink."
Izuku pressed his lips together in a thin line, and created his telempathetic connection with Shouta.
But… wasn't it a bit much?
'It's a Quirk Apprehension Test, Izuku' Shouta replied while studying the rest of the students. Izuku could hear the mental notes he was making. 'And you used your quirk. There is nothing wrong.'
" Yeah!" Shouta flinched lightly when Shigaraki popped out, " Listen to you Dad, buddy! You have a cool quirk and you used it! There's nothing wrong about it ."
" Everyone is giving their best, " Shinomori said, " It's only fair and respectable to them, if you do your best. "
" And if your best is amazing! That's just a plus !" Banjo said, " You worked hard to level up, kiddo. "
'It's as they said . ' Shouta said.
Okay…
Still feeling slightly guilty, he deactivated Teleempathy skill.
"That was so cool Midoriya kun!" Uraraka beamed after her turn was over. "Like, one second you were there and the next you were on the other side!"
"That was indeed impressive." Iida said, "I have a speed quirk myself, but even I couldn't come close to your speed." He paused and tilted his head, "I wasn't aware you had a speed quirk."
"Erm…" So, how should I say I don't have a speed quirk?
"That's because the nerd doesn't have a speed quirk." Katsuki gruffed from behind them.
Right…
"Huh?" The others around him were starting to pay attention to their conversation. And Izuku felt slightly overwhelmed from the sudden attention. And it was something he couldn't just block away with his Fear Resistance.
But thankfully Shouta announced the start of the next assessment which took their attention off of him. Even if it was for the moment.

For the rest of the events, Izuku used simple breathing techniques to help himself because technically he didn't have any skills that could help him. Which was basically what he did all the time during his own personal training. And the breathing techniques gave more than enough boost as it is.
He could hear people whispering about him, and his possible quirk. Physical enhancement or some kind of boost related quirk. Izuku was tempted to stop using anything during the exercises, but one stern look from his Dad and Izuku quickly threw the thought of his mind.
He watched his classmates go through the events, studying their quirks and analyzing them. Each one was just as unique as the one before, and Izuku was dying to analyze them. To peel apart the layers of their quirks and understand everything there is to it.
A few that especially caught his eyes were Yaoyorozu's Creation ( What are requirements? How does she make them? What makes them? What are the limits? What kind of limits? )Shinso's Brainwashing ( Again, how does it work? Can you brainwash multiple people at once? Are the restrictions? What's the activation requirements? What can you make the person do? Can you brainwash a person remember things they think they can't remember. ), Tokoyami's Dark Shadow ( Just what is it? I don't have the slightest clue)
But unfortunately, the events didn't require them to use their quirks that much. And therefore, Izuku was unable to study them.
That was until Izuku approached (after giving himself a pep talk) Shinso. (The first person he could approach. Yaoyorouzo screams regalty and everything out of his league. And well, Tokoyami's lurking in the shadows so he thought he might not be comfortable around the new people.)
"Um…" Izuku started, drawing the boy's tired gaze towards him, "Can-Can I ask a few questions?"
The boy looked at him from head to toe once, before shrugging, "Sure."
"About your quirk, how does it work? Do you need physical contact, or eye to eye? Or does it work without any contact at all? If yes, then how? Is there a keyboard? Does the person you're brainwashing realize they are being brainwashed? How many people can you brainwash at once? And what all things can you make them do? Is it just simple tasks, or can you make them do complex tasks as well? What if you tell them to do something for some other day? Will they be able to do it? Is there a time limit? What are the restrictions-"
"Oi, nerd, shaddup! " Katsuki interrupted.
Izuku blinked, and realized he had unintentionally leaned into the other person, bouncing on his toes out of excitement. And the other person— uh, Shinso— was looking at him, wide eyed and slack jawed. Torn between being amused, and running away.
Izuku blushed out of embarrassment, and leaned away. Scratching his cheek bashfully as he cleared his throat, "Um… sorry, I uh, got a little too excited. It's just your quirk is so cool…"
"You know what my quirk is?" The boy finally asked, still gobsmacked.
"Um…" Izuku checked his profile once more just to be sure, "Yeah, brainwash, right?"
"How-How did you…"
Izuku chuckled awkwardly, "Hehe… it's my quirk… I can tell other people's quirks."
The boy, if possible, looked even more dumbfounded and asked, "And… you think my quirk is… cool?"
Izuku looked at him like he just asked a stupid question, "Duh."
The boy blinked, and waved his hand ambiguous, "You're serious."
Izuku huffed and pouted, "Of course I am! Your quirk's brainwash! " He raised his hand solemnly, "Enough said."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Shigaraki, Banjo stop laughing. Don't think I don't hear you.
"It's really cool! Well, all quirks are cool! But brainwashing is…" Izuku flailed his hand for emphasis, " Cooler you know? It's perfect for Heroics! You could capture all the villains without any fight! You can even use it to calm down the victims! It's," he flailed his hand around some more, "It's-It's… I just came to the realization that I have a very limited vocabulary."
"You…think my quirk's… cool?" Shino mumbled.
"Mhmm!" Izuku nodded his head earnestly.
"You don't think it's villainous?"
Izuku twisted his face like he tasted something sour, "Why would I? There is no such things as villainous quirk. Just quirks. And villainous people."
Shinso blinked, "Huh."
Izuku ducked his head just as Katsuki swung his hand around to whack him. Izuku turned around and glared. "Kacchan! I'm busy!"
"Shaddup." Katsuki grumbled and rolled his eyes, "The hobo's moving on to the next event."
" Kacchan! "
Katsuki only huffed and walked away, as the rest of the students lined up for the last, soft ball throw event. Izuku jutted his lips into a pout and glanced back. He really wanted to know more about Shinso's quirk. Brainwashing is rare!
Shinso, bless his soul, shrugged and said, "I'll answer your questions later, yeah?"
Izuku beamed, "Thanks!"

The soft ball event started with Katsuki. The blond, just as the first time, blasted the ball into the air. Earning a score of 710.09 meters. Then, it was a guy with electric quirk, then the one with multiple arms, then it was a girl with earphone jacks, then it was Uraraka who scored infinity (how freaking awesome is that?!) and then finally, it was his turn.
Shouta threw the softball at him while he walked towards the circle, and Izuku caught it easily. He thought about what skill to use as he approached the white circle, and paused one step away from it. He knew if he stepped inside, he wouldn't be allowed to step out until he had thrown the ball. Or else he'd be disqualified.
And Izuku would hate to disappoint Shouta. And, and, just maybe, a tiny part of him wanted to show off the result of his hard work. Afterall, have you seen the people he lives with? He was Aizawa Shouta's kid, his mom despite her soft, innocent look was a menace. He's practically brother's with Dabi.
In short, Izuku may be nice but he's also a little shit.
So, he turned around and asked, "Um, Eraserhead-"
"Hmm?" Shouta looked up from his device.
"We're meant to use our quirks as efficiently as we can, right?" Izuku asked.
"That's what you were supposed to do so far, yes." Shouta replied.
Izuku stomped down the urge to give him a nasty look, and asked again, "So, um is it okay if I take more than one chance?"
Shouta raised an eyebrow, "Why?"
Izuku pursed his lips, "I am going to need more than one chance to efficiently use my quirk."
Yeah, I'm using your words against you. I'm not stupid enough to do otherwise.
Shouta didn't reply to that, and instead nodded towards the markings on the ground, "Let's see what you got."
Izuku grinned savagely, "Okay, sir!"
Izuku turned, the ball clutched tightly in his hand. And as he wound up, he activated One For All. Izuku slammed his hand down like a whip, and let go of the ball at the highest point of his arm's trajectory. Raw power pooled into his hand as he smashed the ball into the air. Izuku watched as the ball split through the air with a loud boom, and smoke rings forming around it.
Damn…
Slowly Izuku turned towards Shouta. And, Shouta lowered his face into his scarf as he turned around the device to show the distance covered.
705.32 meters.
Izuku frowned. He was honestly expecting a bit more. Maybe, I should combine Fire Breathing with One For All.
"Are you going to continue?" Shouta asked.
Izuku nodded, and caught the second ball Shouta threw at him. This time, he was going to throw the ball by using just his own power along with his breathing technique. Izuku closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He repeated the process a few times, until he felt the heat inside of his body rise, and opened his eyes. The breathing technique amplified his stats by 1.5 times. That would put his Strength at around 280-290.
Hmm.
Izuku wound up once again, and slammed his hand down like a whip while letting go of the ball. There was no loud boom, or smoke rings this time, but the throw was still powerful. Considering he didn't even use any of his skills.
Izuku turned around and looked at Shouta. Shouta held up at the device.
253.3 meters.
Wow… I wasn't expecting that much.
"What did you use this time?" Shouta asked, scribbling on his notepad.
"Huh?" Izuku tilted his head, and stared before the realization hit him, "Oh! I didn't use anything."
Shouta looked up and raised his eyebrow, "What?"
"I didn't use any skill," Izuku repeated, "Just breathing techniques."
Shouta blinked, and sighed. "So that was just you?" Izuku nodded, "Okay.. And the one before that was?"
Izuku raised his finger to denote one. As in One For All.
Shouta nodded in acknowledgement before scribbling it down on his notepad. "Anything else?"
"Yep!" Izuku chirped, "Two more."
Whispers broke out amongst the students behind Shouta. Katsuki looked like he wanted to murder him. Shinso looked apathetic, and uninterested for most part. The same as Todoroki. Only the vestiges, standing next to Shouta, looked excited about his next performance.
Izuku decided to focus on them, and smiled. Shouta threw another ball at him ( How many does he have? ) This time, with One For All, and Fire Breathing combined, the ball tore through the air with a much louder sonic boom, and more vapor cones. Izuku had to close his eyes as the dust flew around. When he opened his eyes once again, the ball was long out of his sight.
"Umm…"
' Beep, beep' the device rang after a few seconds.
Shouta once again lowered his face into his scarf as he turned around the device. 1415.3 meters.
Nice.
"Anything else?" Shouta asked, lips twitching with hidden amusement.
"Yeah, one more!" Izuku chirped happily.
" There is more?!" Someone cried from in between the crowd.
"Kacchan!" Izuku called sweetly. Katsuki's eye narrowed into slits as he glared at him.
"What is it?" He snapped.
Izuku pointed to the, now dormant, drones they had been using earlier for the tests, "Can you get me that?"
"Why the fuck would I?" Katsuki hissed.
" Please, Kacchan? " Izuku pleaded sweetly.
"Fuck you." Katsuki spat as he stomped over to where the drones were kept and picked on up before tossing it towards Izuku. Izuku caught it with a soft 'oof' before smiling at his friend.
"Thank you, Kacchan!"
"Fuck off ! "
Izuku turned his gaze back to Shouta, wanting to ask if he could use the drone. Shouta, however, currently had his face practically buried into his scarf, with his hair covering whatever part of his face that wasn't hidden. And with his sharp eyes, Izuku noticed the ever slight tremors in Shouta's shoulder.
"Um, Eraserhead?"
"Go on, Problem Child." Shouta replied, slightly lifting his head up.
Izuku smiled, and nodded before crouching down, placing the drone in front of him. He placed his hand over it, and said, "Disassemble!"
Immediately the machine broke apart into pieces like a sandcastle.
[Reassemble: Drone]
[New: Motor Glider | Miniature Helicopter | Miniature remote controlled…]
[Customize]
"Customize."
A holographic greenish blue grid appeared over the pieces. He waited until the System had scanned all the parts, before raising his hand up, and turning it with his palm facing upwards. The parts of the drones projected above the grid, ready for Izuku to customize himself a new machine.
"Blueprint: Motor Glider."
Izuku could have simply selected Motor Glider from New, but then he wouldn't have been able to customize. His levels aren't high enough for that yet. The blueprint for the Motor Glider appeared beside the grid. He can only build stuff he already has seen the blueprints of. And Izuku first got the new addition to his skill, he had googled up as many blueprints as he could find on the internet. All safely stored in System's memory.
It took him three minutes to build the base, adjust the output of the motor, attach a claw to the belly of the glider, and a launch pad. Once the 3D model of the motor glider was complete, he said, "Assemble."
Within a few seconds the loose pieces of the drone adjusted, and attached itself together to build the design Izuku had made. It wasn't anything fancy. Would not last for more than one use. But that's enough for the test. Satisfied with the final product, he picked it up, and stuffed the soft ball into the claw of the device. After making sure it wouldn't fall, Izuku attached the launch pad on his wrist, before taking aim.
"Launch in 3… 2… 1."
The glider launched itself with a soft whirring sound before flying through the air. He wasn't sure how far it would go. Given he had no idea how much battery the drones had left.
"Um…" he turned around to face Shouta, "How battery did the drone have?"
Shouta shrugged in response and took out another device, "Anything else?"
"Nope!"
"Okay." Shouta nodded, "Shinso, you're next!"
With that Izuku happily skipped his way back to the group, but stopped to throw a thumbs up at Shinso and said, "Remember to use your quirk!"
Shinso's eyes glinted with an unknown emotion and he asked, "Sensei won't get mad?"
"Nope! I promise." Izuku chirped. In fact, Shouta had been eyeing Shinso for some tie, waiting for him to use his quirk.
Izuku stood away from the crowd, next to Katsuki, knowing people won't approach him easily because of the blond. He watched as Shinso walked up to Shouta instead of the circle. Shouta raised his eyebrow, silently prompting Shinso to speak.
With his enhanced hearing, Izuku heard Shinso ask, "I can use my quirk however I want, right?"
"Yea-" Shouta's posture went uncharacteristically slack as he responded. His irises turned a shade of grayish white.
"If you can understand me, nod." Shinso said. And Shouta nodded.
"Good. Now… " Izuku snickered as Shinso said out loud the score he wanted for each event and Shouta obediently wrote it down on the notepad. Once it was done, Shouta blinked back into his sense and looked at Shinso before looking down at his notepad. A ghost of a smirk appeared on his face as he blandly asked Shinso togo back.
"Huh? He doesn't have to do the soft ball throw?" Someone asked. The others whispered amongst themselves, trying to figure out why Shinso was returning without doing the event.
Shinso had a pleased smirk on his face as he walked back, and stood next to Izuku. Beside him, Katsuki huffed and grumbled, "Fucking cheat."
Shinso frowned, "I used my quirk."
"Yeah, okay, " Katsuki grumbled while rolling his eyes, "But 'Zuku gave you the idea, loser."
"So… it's not about my quirk?"
"What the fuck?" Katsuki scowled, "It's Quirk Apprehension test, you fucking looser."
"Huh." Shinso blinked and shrugged. Then he turned his attention back to Izuku.
"Thanks." He said with a smile.
Izuku grinned back, "You're welcome."
After that, the rest of the event passed by quickly and Shouta announced the result. And Izuku's result for the soft ball throw using the glider came ten minutes later: 10, 745.89 meters. It mostly crashed into a tree or something, Izuku guessed.
[1 Midoriya Izuku] [2 Shinso Hitoshi]
[3 Yaoyorozu Momo] [4 Todoroki Shoto]
[5 Bakugo Katsuki] [6 Iida Tenya]
[7 Tokoyami Fumikage] [8 Mezo Shoji]
[9 Masahiro Ojiro] [10 Kirisihima Eijiro]
[11 Ashido Mina] [12 Uaraka Ochako]
[13 Koda Koji] [14 Sato Rikido]
[15 Asui Tsuyu] [16 Sero Hanta]
[17 Aoyama Yuga] [18 Kaminari Denki]
[19 Jiro Kyoka] [20 Hagakure Toru]
Izuku bit his lips as he read the list. Her quirk hadn't helped her at all during the tests, neither did she have any training judging by the way her clothes fit her. She must've gotten in U.A on pure rescue points with that type of build. Hakagure invisibility quirk would have been amazing for Underground Heroics, or even Intelligence gathering.
"I was lying about the expulsion, by the way." Shouta announced after everyone panicked. "It was a rational deception to bring out the best in everyone." And with that, he left. Izuku watched him leave with a deadpan expression. He didn't even need to use Ki to spot the blatant lie. He saw potential in Hakagure and decided to go against his words.
But apparently the others didn't catch onto his lie as they yelped out in relief. Well, only Uraraka, Kaminari, Kirishima and a few others Izuku didn't know the names of yet vocable expressed their relief.
"Well of course it was lie," Yaoyorozu said, "Didn't take that much to figure out."
Hmm..
Should I tell them?
It's better if they know, right? Otherwise they might do something that would get them expelled.
But before Izuku could come to a decision, Katsuki scoffed out loud, and said, "Fucking dumbass extras actually believed the hobo sensei wasn't going to expel them."
Well…
"Huh?" They turned around.
"No way…" Yaoyorozu mumbled
Izuku decided to lay it out for them. "Um… you guys do know that Eraserhead expelled his entire class last year, right?"
They all paled.
"And he was going to expel one of you losers today as well." Katsuki grumbled with a roll of his eyes.
"He has the highest expulsion rate amongst all other teachers." Izuku added and then he smiled "But because he didn't expel anyone it means he saw potential in us! So, don't worry guys!"
The students only paled further.
Izuku wondered why.
