Chapter 20: The Northern Air Temple
The first scene of the new episode starts with the audience listening to a tale from this old man talking about the story of Airwalkers. The audience could tell it was about Airbenders. Even Aang vogue that the story was historically accurate and a good tale. He even mentions his amusement at laughing at gravity.
Among the audience, Kosei Tsuburaba enjoyed to story of of this old man. "Aww, This old man was lucky to hear the story of the Airbenders. His old man or grad Papi witnesses the Airbenders before the Fire Nation. He was so lucky, and I'm a bit jealous."
Itsuka smiled that Kosei got to hear a tale of the Airbenders. "I'm glad that you had a good time Kosei." She said making the boy blush at her words. "Yeah, I have to admit it was a good story."
"I wonder, how many more stories this man knows about the old days of the Airbenders," Neito said interested to know what the Airbenders did before the day of Sozin's Comet.
02:03 - 02:24
Kota laughed when Momo paid the old man a coin. "That was so cute," he said giggling.
02:24 - 02:37
There was a revolution of good fortune when the audience learned from the storyteller that the story he told wasn't ancient, but his great-grand-Papi witnessed the Airwalkers last week.
Kosei jolts up from his seat from excitement. "Wait, are you saying that Airbenders roaming around?!" He said with a wide smile. "This is Awesome, Team Avatar has to meet them!"
The students get pumped up from the excitement of seeing the Airbenders.
02:37 - 02:58
The next scene shifted towards Team Avatar heading to The Northern Air Temple.
The students got excited about an old activity when the Airbenders visited the Northern Air Temple. He mentioned that Once Upon a Time ago, Airbenders used to race each other with their Air Bisons. Kosei ended up imagining himself with his own Air Bison racing alongside other Airbenders and their Air Bisons, he believes it was a great activity to meet women.
The scene continues having the Watertribe siblings sharing their thoughts about the idea of seeing a new generation of Airbenders that survive Sozin's Comet. Katara was optimistic while Sokka was more of a downer realistic. In Sokka's defense, he isn't wrong.
The whole audience is split in half. One side wants to be hopeful, while the other believes in logic and fact. In the end, it isn't about one side being right or wrong, but about not getting their hopes up in case the results aren't what they wanted.
A lot of them, including Kosei don't want to relive the pain when they find out that the Fire Nation took out the Airbenders, back when Team Avatar visited the Southern Air Temple.
This time Kosei is strong enough to face the truth and accept whatever results are when they do reach the Northern Air Temple.
Itsuka placed a warm hand on Kosei's hand, in case the results weren't what he hoped.
02:58 - 03:25
Once Team Avatar reached the Northern Air Temple Aang spotted the Airwalkers, and understood why they were called such a nickname.
"They're not Airbenders," Kosei said disappointed hoping to see Airbenders, but instead, they see non-benders gliding. "They may be gliding but it isn't Airbending. We have seen Aang Airbend before, Hell, he is a master of Airbending, Aang can tell they are not Airbenders."
The students sigh when they hear that these people aren't Airbenders. They had to accept the harsh reality that Aang is the Last Airbender. But they were also surprised by the harsh tones of both Aang and Kosei, it would make sense that they were disappointed has the taste of bitterness in their tone.
Itsuka hopes that Kosei doesn't feel too bitter throughout this whole episode.
03:25 - 03:48
The scene shows a young boy gliding, and Aang goes to challenge the boy in a gliding contest. The students cheered for Aang and how the amateur real Airbending.
Jarota on the other hand was worried for the water tribe siblings. "Aang, I wish you at least landed Appa first!" he said frustrated at the Avatar.
03:48 - 05:11 (The entire gliding competition)
Once Appa safely landed the true competition started.
The audience learns the name of the other boy from the cheering crowd.
"So his name is Teo, but I'm sure Aang can outshine him." Kosei cockly said hoping for his idol to outshine this other kid.
Aang went first to show off his gliding skills and did an amazing feat by using his momentum and speed to run off walls, He demonstrated more by using the Air Scooter before getting back to his glider.
"Sorry, kid but you cannot do what Aang can do," Kosei said, cheering for his idol.
Neito smirks at his friend. "Sorry, Tsuburaba but the competition isn't over yet. I think this is one of those moments you shouldn't underestimate his skills before the game ends." He was curious what Teo would do to outshine the Airbender.
Then it was Teo's turn, and he showed that he didn't need to be an Airbender to outshine the Avatar in gliding. The audience saw Teo unleash smoke do his own Sky drawing, and mock the Avatar in the process by drawing a bored expression of Avatar.
1B laughed at Teo's creativity. Kosei on the other hand was impressed too, just not on the same level as the rest of his classmates.
If anything. Teo would done the same drawing, but with Kosei's face.
Monoma laughed in good sportsmanship. "Hahaha, you have to admit that was very impressive, Tsuburaba.
"Yeah, I have to admit it was cool," Kosei said admitting defeat that Aang was outshined by Teo.
05:11 - 05:20
Once the competition had ended both boys landed safely. The audience's eyes widen to see that Teo is Wheelchair bound.
The audience was surprised to see that Teo was in a wheelchair they didn't notice due to all the fun of watching him and Aang gliding.
Back in their world, there was a stubborn mindset towards the view of the quirkless and the people who were physically disabled, which are automatically tied to being useless and worthless in the eyes of their quirk-obsessed society.
However, this boy, Teo broke those boundaries, and stubborn minds in the audience witnessed his incredible feat of Teo has done. He was able to soar the skies without Airbending or a quirk.
This event gave of the audience hope, such as Tenya Iida recalling that his brother is now in a wheelchair. He may no longer be Ingenium, but he can still do extraordinary things with the help of imagination and willpower, and Teo is that inspiration.
"That was so amazing, and he did all that in a chair," Togaru said, amazed by Teo.
Unlike Bakugo, Togaru sees the quirkless and the handicap differently.
05:20 - 05:39
Many were intrigued about Teo's wheelchair, especially the fact that it could glide and soar through the skies.
There were many smiles when Teo mentioned that his father created his chair and there is more that he made.
05:39 - 06:25
The audience was surprised to see what Teo's father had done to the Northern Air Temple.
"Woah!" Many of the students were impressed by the invention of the time that Teo's Father had invented. However, one of the 1B students feels different compared to his peers.
"This is amazing, and everything is powered by hot air. This is clean energy." Jorota said from his excitement, he got his eyes widened when he saw this period's version of the elevator. "Sweet Louise, that elevator is powered by hot air too."
Sen chuckled. "So you're saying the elevator can be powered by farts," he said, making his friends laugh and making Jorota annoyed at his joke.
The Avatar and Kosei, on the other hand, were not impressed with the upgraded version of the Northern Temple. "Powered by fart, yeah, sure, whatever." Kosei said unhappy with the change at the temple.
Sen notices his friend's mood. "Tsuburaba what's wrong?"
However, before Kosei could respond, Itsuka went to talk to Kaibara. "Sen, why not give Kosei some space? I think Kosei is looking forward to seeing the Northern Air Temple." She said. "He was already disappointed to know that the people who are living in this temple aren't Airbenders and to top his disappointment when he saw the newly upgraded Northern Air Temple. Just like how Aang dislikes the Temple's makeover. Kosei feels sorry for Aang."
Kaibara nodded. "I guess, I understand too." He said. "As amazing as the inventions are, this temple used to belong to the Airbenders, and with them was their culture and history. To their eyes, the culture and history that were in these walls were erased and replaced with upgrades."
Itsuka smiled at him. "Thank you for understanding. I just hope nothing changes too much to this temple."
Kendo, Kaibara, and Tsububara hope that not much has changed to the temple or at least something that would still hold the culture of the Airbenders among these walls on the entire temple.
06:25 - 06:51
Aang and Kosei continue to look around at this single room.
Itsuka and Sen are worried for Kosei, they saw his disappointment towards what happened to the murals of the Northern Air Temple that carried a story of their people, now butchered by pipes.
Ibara notices Tsuburaba and Aang's angst on their faces. She can relate in terms of her religion. Seeing those murals being butchered by those pipes would be very disrespectful, to her it would be like someone butchering murals or portraits about the story of the Passion of the Christ, when her lord and savior carried the cross to be crucified, then it was replaced with those hideous pipes too.
She doesn't want to even think about the statue of the Air Bison spurring out smoke, and replace it with a crucifix. Just the thought alone made her stomach ache not in a good way.
In a way, Ibara does understand the pain that both Aang and Kosei are feeling.
06:51- 07:31
The scene shifted to an untouched area of the Northern Air Temple with a stone mural of one of the unnamed monks. Kosei and Aang are happy that there is at least one untouched area. A wrecking ball ruined that happiness.
Once the dust was cleared the Audience saw the construction crew, Itsuka and Sen weren't happy with what they had done.
They got The Avatar and Kosei angry.
Sure, they got angry for what they did to the stone mural, but the Mural will not come to life and get their rage on, unlike their friend and the Avatar.
"Did you know what you just did, you just destroyed something sacred for a stupid bath house,"
Kosei sympathized and understood that the Avatar was angry, but he didn't expect him to use his Airbending to blow away the wrecking Ball. He was just glad that the Avatar didn't have a glow show to express his anger.
07:31 - 08:53
After a small introduction of who Aang is Teo's father went to explain He and his people's story and how they ended up in the Northern Temple.
The audience learned that Teo's Father, in which the audience decided to call him, the Inventor. That he and his people are refugees and victims of the war. They had lost a lot of their people, He even lost his life and Teo was born physically disabled due to his mother being hurt during pregnancy.
Their loss, The Inventor and their people thought all hope was lost until they stumbled and found the Northern Air Temple. They had no clue that the temple belonged to anyone because it was empty. The temple brought them hope and a chance to change their lives for the better.
The Inventor also mentioned that he had found a unique invention and the audience noticed that he was describing the Gliders that the Airbenders use to travel around. The Inventor mentioned that the Gliders also gave them hope not just to benefit his people but for his son too. The Inventor wasn't wrong. The Audience saw how Teo soar the skies and a smile on his face. He may never know what walking is like, but experience soaring the skies is just epic.
Some of the students teared up as much as the Water Tribe siblings. Their survival story inspired them and were able to find light from the shadows of grief covering them.
All Might smiled at the inspirational story of The Inventor and his people.
08:53 - 09:20
The audience was introduced to a candle that can tell time.
"Wait how can this candle tell time?" Denki asks. "All the notches look the same?"
Tsuyu looks closely at the candle she too doesn't know how this candle works. She got spooked when the Candle started to pop 4 times. "Yikes, I didn't expect that to happen?!"
Sokka went on to explain that the Inventor added spark powder to the candle to tell the time. The audience was amazed at this invention, even Melissa had to admit it was amazing.
Kota got himself giggling. "Four O' Candle, that's funny." The little boy continues to laugh including kicking his legs in the air.
09:20 - 09:29
The laughter and joy stopped when the Inventor showed his other invention to help sharpen his kitchen knives with the use of his fingers.
Mr. Compress's sweat drops at the invention. "Oh my, I guess his wife was the chef in their relationship, not him."
Twice screamed when the Inventor gave his fingers to Sokka. "Geez, that is a new way towards the joke, pull my finger. With him, it meant it literally."
09:29 - 09:52
As the Inventor and Sokka went to his workshop, Teo took Aang and Katara somewhere that would cheer up the Avatar.
True, nothing in the temple anymore is the same as it was 100 years ago, but nothing everything is untouched. Such as the creatures that are from here such as the bugs that he picked up.
Itsuka smiled. "That's so cute, and Teo is right. I know that the temple isn't like what it was back then, but these bugs and other living things that are original from this place learned to adapt and grow with all the changes they all went through in this temple even years from now." She smiles at Kosie. "Just like these bugs, they're just like the flying lemurs they haven't abandoned the temple. In a way, they are survivors of Sozin's Comment.
After listening to Kendo and watching Katara have the bug to play around at her hand. He sees that the Air temples are not graveyards, but rather a haven. Towards the survivors who continue to live the Sozin Coment massacre, and the lives of these refugees to bring life back to the temple. Even if they're not like Aang's memories. Life continues to live in these walls.
He admits that he was upset that some parts of the temple were erased and could not be rebuilt, but he is happy to see refugees like Teo and his father being happy and alive.
He turns to the redhead. "Kendo– I mean, Itsuka. You're right. For the longest time, The Northern Air temple including the Southern, Western, and Eastern temples were graveyards caused by Sozin's comment." He pauses to look back at the bug and Teo. "But seeing the bugs, flying lemurs like Momo, and now people like Teo brought life back to the Northern Temple. It brought back joy and laughter." He smiles back at her. "Thank you, Itsuka."
Itsuka's face turned red from seeing Kosei smile at her and saying her first name. Itsuka wants to run around the world to express her joy, but right now she just covers her face with her giant hands.
Setsuna laughs seeing her best friend act so shy about her feelings so cute and somewhat funny. She would like to discuss this with the rest of the 1B Girls.
'Time to reunite the girls of 1B.' She thought.
09:52 - 10:07
In the next scene, Teo took Aang and Katara towards a similar door which the cast had seen way back at the Southern Air Temple, it was also a similar room when Team Avatar met Momo the Lemur.
Ochaco went to point it out towards this familiar door. "Hey, isn't that a similar door that has a room way back at the Southern Air Temple?"
From Uraraka's comment, the whole audience recalls the door. "Oh yeah, I remember now!" Tetsutetsu shouted in excitement. "She's right, back at the Southern Air Temple they have a similar door that kept all the statues of the former Avatars."
Natsu Todoroki remembers as well, recalling that Fire Nation had something similar back at the formal Avatar Roku's Temple. "Avatar Roku had a similar door back at the Fire Nation, it's just the key at that temple was with Firebending."
"Yes, but just like the Southern Air Temple this should be opened by Airbending," Fuyumi commented.
The audience listened more to Teo because none of the people in this temple are Airbenders. The room on the other side of this door has been untouched for the last one hundred years. Teo asked The Avatar to see what was on the other side. Even Katara went to ask Aang if it was alright for Teo to see the other side of the wall.
The students are hoping that the Avatar would say yes.
10:07 - 10:21
The audience and Teo got their answer from The Avatar, denying Teo's request to see what the door is hiding on the other side of this door.
Teo and the students understood Aang's reasonings, and the UA staff understood as well. "I understand why Aang wants the door to want to open the door. What's on the other side of that door is the last untouched relics and memories of the Northern Air Temple." Aizawa said. "I'm just glad that Teo understood."
Vlad King understood too. "I agree with you Aizawa. Besides, The Avatar is a good kid. Who knows, perhaps The Avatar would change his mind and let Teo and the others see what is behind the other side of this Door." He said. "If not that's okay too, it is not like we have to see the room. Who knows perhaps just like the Southern Air Temple, the Northern Air Temple room might just have the same statues of Aang's past lives within the Avatar Cycle. It's not like there is a huge surprise for us when The Avatar opens the door."
Vlad King starts to laugh not knowing what is truly behind this door.
10:21 - 10:38
The next scene shifted back to Sokka and the Inventor on their tour of the Southern Air Temple.
It showed the two men going downstairs to the lower part of the temple. The audience realizes that the lanterns that the two of them are using are quite dim. Until Sokka opens the lid of the lantern to reveal that the light source is coming from Fireflies.
Koji Koda screams hurting the ear drum of Himiko Toga.
"You son of a bitch, I will cut you!" She yelled as the rest of the League of Villains held her down, while Class 1A shielded Koda from the vampiric girl.
"Koda, seriously, I understand that you are afraid of bugs, but toughen up man. That hurt my eardrums too." Kyoka said to Koda as the quiet boy apologized with sign language.
As the audience relaxes. The inventor went on to explain to Sokka that the reason why they use Fireflies as a light source, is because they're inflammable.
Hearing that small detail towards the needed light source has to be inflammable towards where they were heading. They wonder where are the two headings that require an inflammable light source.
10:38 -11:27
Sokka and the Inventor reach the door towards this dark hallway. The audience learned why the Inventor uses fireflies as a light source because it's the only safe light source that wouldn't ignite the natural gas underneath the temple.
"That makes sense why they use fireflies as their light source. This part of the temple is nothing. but a ticking time bomb that would explode once it's ignited." Midnight said, seeing the danger towards this part of the temple.
Aizawa continues for her. "Not just that, random gas leaks would appear, and finding it isn't easy. The gas cannot be found by sight, sound, smell, or touch."
Vlad sighs at the terrible situation. "This is a puzzle for sure. Trying to invent something that can't be sensed by our four senses is a real conundrum."
The rest of the audience agrees with the teachers. How can Sokka and the inventor prevent any more gas leaks?
(I just noticed something. The stairway towards the natural gas. Could be the same one that Bolin, Mako, Asami, and Tenzin use to escape the lava, also where Bolin learned to Lava bend for the first time.)
11:27 - 11:54
The scene shifted back to Aang, Katara, and Teo.
The audience spotted Katara with a glider, and the audience realized that this would be Katara's first time air gliding.
Teo went on to explain the scientific explanation of how Air Gliding works. However, he is having a hard time describing the emotion that he feels when he and his friends do Air Glide. That makes them continue and love this activity.
However, Aang knows what Teo is talking about. That indescribable feeling is called Spirit, it is what keeps them to continue to glide even if they are not Airbenders.
Some of the students understood what Aang meant. The rest would understand if they changed the word Air gliding towards heroics. Because they too have the spirit to help people to be Heroes. It may not be the same as the views of Aang and Teo, but they do understand.
11:54 - 12:24
As Katara went for her first gliding lesson. Many of the audience cheered for Katara's first time, and both Kota and Kosei cheered as loud as they could for the Water Tribe girl as she soared the skies, and avoided bugs.
To Tenya this moment felt different, especially seeing their smile and having fun. He imagines his big brother. Tensei Iida soared to the skies with his wheelchair-bound with him. The wind blew at Tensei's hair being blown by the wind, a smile on his face, and perhaps a bug or two stuck in his teeth.
Bugs or not it doesn't matter as long as Tensei is happy and full of life once again. That is why he sees Teo as an inspiration.
"Woo Woo! Go Katara!" Tenya cheered for the Water Tribe girl.
As Katara continues to have fun. The audience heard what the Avatar had to say. Even though Teo isn't an Airbender or an Air Nomad the boy does have the spirit of one.
The students smiled, hoping that Teo would get his wish.
"So I make this wish! To have something more for us than this!" Mina sang referencing the last Disney movie from 2023.
12:24 - 12:41
The students listen to Aang that he changed his mind and that he would be happy to grant his wish.
For him to go to the Royal Ball after his Stepmother forbids him from going, in exchange for his voice, for Aang to become the Fairest of them all.
.
.
.
Just Kidding, I couldn't resist.
Aang went to grant Teo's real wish, of seeing what is on the other side of the Door.
The student cheered that Aang plans to open the door for Teo
However, there was some laughter when Katara accidentally ate some bugs.
Dabi was surprised by that scene. That scene with Katara felt like it was meant for Sokka more than her.
He can see a similar situation that would happen to Shoto. Perhaps during their stupid UA Hero training, Shoto ends up soaring to the sky and accidentally eats some bugs on the way down. Normally Dabi would laugh at any misfortune that happened to Sokka and imagine Shoto in his shoes, but lately ever since learned who Zuko is outside his mission to restore his honor and to get home. That feeling that he feels about his siblings is slowly fading.
12:41 - 13:02
The scene shifted back to Sokka and the Inventor.
The audience watches as Sokka accidentally drops some things and one of them is a smelly week-old egg.
The technology in the theater was able to mimic the week-old smell of egg and its stinky aroma surrounded the entire room.
"Sweet mother of God! Who even thinks letting food out in a week at their workstation is a good idea, like God!" Aizawa complains trying to cover his nose from the stinky old egg.
Melissa is sweating bullets recalling that she has the same bad habit of leaving food around at her workstation. Such as her three-week-old egg salad that she kept forgetting to throw away.
13:02 - 13:17
The scene shifted to Aang, Teo, and Katara. Showing that they returned to the Door that can only be opened by Airbending.
"This is exciting." Mina excitedly said. "I know we already saw what's behind that door at the Southern Air Temple, but I'm more excited about Teo's reaction."
13:17 - 13:45
The scene shifts back to Sokka and the Inventor as they struggle to find the smelly old egg.
Kota has enough of covering his nose from this awful smell. "Seriously, how the hell is something this small can make this huge stink?"
As they complain about the horrible smell, they continue to watch as Sokka and the Inventor find a solution towards on how the find the gas leak, with the help of the rotten egg smell.
If we put a whole mess of rotten eggs in the cellar where the gas seeps up… The gas will mix with the smell of rotten eggs! .. You smell rotten eggs! Then, you just follow your nose to the place where the smell is coming from and plug up the hole where the gas is escaping!
"Great, that you too geniuses found the solution to the problem… CAN YOU AT LEAST GET RID OF THE ROTTEN EGG FIRST? IT STINKS IN HERE!" Kota shouted in frustration as the little boy had enough.
As much as the two jumped for joy they found a solution to the gas leak problem. The inventor was alerted by the alarm bell that he had in his room.
"Uh, I wonder what could have triggered his alarm?" Vlad King said curious what caused the alarm for the inventor. Like is the Northern Temple in danger?
13:45 - 14:11
The scene shifted back to Aang, Katara, and Teo to see their reaction towards what was behind the door. The audience was in shock as much as the trio. None of them were expecting that Teo's father was making weapons for the Fire Nation.
Kosei and the rest of the Hero side took a step back toward the revelation of this truth. The question now is why.
14:11 - 14:50
The Inventor went to explain his truth. That one year after he and his people settled at the Northern Air Temple. The Fire Nation troops had found them. Well, they had found Teo's father. He continues to explain that he tried saving their people and this newfound land from being destroyed, but the Fire Nation and he created a solution to save him and his people to remain to live quietly at the Northern Air Temple. By having Teo's father secretly make weapons that would benefit the Fire Nation.
Teo's father has been hiding this secret for years behind everyone's back, including his son.
The audience watched as Teo looked away from his father disappointed that has been secretly working for the Fire Nation for several years now.
Learning this truth hit hard to Melissa, because not a while ago in her life. That her Father Orchestrated a villain attack back in I-Island. Towards his fear of listing All Might in this world. Which it did. The world lost the Symbol of Peace but she gets to keep her uncle.
Now history repeats itself, but this time Teo is in Melissa's shoes.
Sadly enough the ones who were in I-Island and fought the incident during that event. Only a small handful know the truth that David Shield caused the incident. All because of good intentions and his fears towards the future of a world without All Might. Especially when it came to pass.
What happened to David Shield is old news. What got everyone buzzing was what would happen to Teo's father now the truth came out.
14:50 - 15:20
The next scene is moments later as The Avatar and Teo go to confront the Inventor about the next shipment to the Fire Nation. The audience listened to both of the boys mentioning that they wanted to help to get him off his deal with the Fire Nation, with the Avatar's protection.
Izuku is happy that Team Avatar and Teo are willing to help the Inventor stop making weapons for the Fire Nation. True, what happened with David Shield and what's happening now is different. He doesn't want to put out every single detail on why it's different they just want everything to just end for the better before things go worst. For both the people in the Northern Air Temple and the rest of the World if the Fire Nation does get the next weapon.
Teo went to push his father to stop by mentioning him. He cannot be proud of his father if he continues giving the Fire Nation inventions of murder.
Kosei agrees with Teo, and he feels sorry for the boy. He sees that the inventor broke that perfect image of a father in Teo's eyes when the truth came out. It reminded Kosei of the time when Aang hid the letter of Hakoda from Sokka, Katara, and Bato.
That moment broke the perfect image of Kosei's idol, but he did later forgive. Just like Kosei is willing to forgive Teo's Father for his inventions for the Fire Nation, if he promises to stop giving them more inventions. Such as the next shipment.
"Please, it's not too late." Both boys pleaded to the inventor.
15:20 - 16:05
The next scene is the whole meeting with the Fire Nation representative.
The audience listened to the meeting about wanting to get their shipment in exchange for their safety. The meeting was interrupted by the Avatar.
They continue to watch as Aang bitch-slap the Representative using Airbending, marking the end of the business between The Fire Nation and the refugees of Northern Air Temple.
"I admit it could have ended multiple ways, but I believe there wouldn't be any outcome in which the Fire Nation and the Refugees wouldn't fight," Aizawa said. "The outcome would always end up as a fight. The Fire Nation is too proud of itself to go quietly. Now Team Avatar and the Refugees must prepare themselves for what's to come."
All Might agree with Aizawa. "I agree with you. The Fire Nation will fight stubbornly to get what they want. Negotiating wouldn't be the answer either. When they first came to this temple. They wanted to burn this temple to the ground. The reason why they didn't burn this place was because of the promises of new weapons." He said. "Sadly, the only way now to stop the Fire Nation from coming back to the Northern Air Temple is to fight back. The question is, how would the Refugees do it? Team Avatar won't be here forever."
Midnight touches All Might's shoulder. "Surely there is a way. We just have to have hope that they will win."
16:05 - 16:29
The scene shifted outside with Team Avatar and Teo discussing how would they defend the people from the Fire Nation troops that are heading to this tower to be attacked.
Thankfully Aang has a solution. He mentions that they do have a weapon, air power. Attacking the Fire Nation from above is their solution and their advantage against the Fire Nation.
"Aang is right," Hitoshi said agreeing with the Avatar. "The refugees have Airpower." He continues. "Aircraft were first used in war in 1911, by the Italians against the Turks near Tripoli, but it was not until the Great War of 1914 to 1918 that their use became widespread. In a way ever since the 100-year war started. This is the first time that air power is used for War. It may not be airplanes or fighter jets, but rather war balloons. This would give the Northern Air Temple a fighting chance."
"This time there is no Sozin's comment that would increase the firepower of the Fire Nation troops," Kosei said. "This time the outcome will be different unlike 100 years ago."
Kosei and many others have faith that the outcome would be different. Unlike before, the odds are not in their favor, but they have to try.
16:29 - 16:33
The Todoroki siblings widened their eyes to see that Teo's father wanted to help.
To them, they see that the father knows he messed up, but it was all for good intentions. Despite learning about his truth. He isn't a shitty father, unlike the one they have.
Teo's Father admits that what he did isn't good, and he knows that he is sorry. That is why is helping to fight back. For their home and to atone for the secrets that he had hidden.
To all four Todoroki siblings, they see that the inventor is a better father, and Teo is a good son. Seeing him smile forgiving his father towards the secrets that he had hidden. Sadly in their family, they won't have a similar relationship with their father, Enji Todoroki.
16:33 - 17:09
They shifted back to the workshop revealing that Sokka and the Inventor had found a solution to his War Balloon.
Their main problem is once they have hot air towards the balloon. It would continue to go up, and if there was a hole the balloon wouldn't fly. The solution is to have a lid to cover and open the balloon. To have some hot air to make it float, and to release some of that air to control the balloon.
"Woah, that is impressive." Midnight said impressed by this world's war balloon. Different from the ones she teaches in history class.
17:09 - 17:17
Sokka went on to explain that they have four bombs that they have. Smoke, Fire, Slime, and stink.
"Sokka has been an expert in bomb-making since they visited Roku's temple. I guess he learned it from the men of the Southern Water Tribe." Itsuka said impress by Sokka.
(I can't wait when the Southern Water Tribe invented C4, in Legend of Korra.)
17:17 - 18:13
The Battle Begins.
The scene shifted back outside.
The students cheered when Aang, Teo, and some others went to fight the Fire Nation by soaring the skies with their gliders. They cheered loudly when they saw that the troops were just walking up to the Temple which it did give refugees an advantage by attacking from above.
The Heroes, Tenya, and Mr. Compress were impressed by Teo, at first they were impressed that Teo was able to soar with his glider and chair, but now he is fighting back too.
The reason why they were impressed is because back in their world. When a soldier isn't physically fit to fight they lose their ability to walk or lose one of their senses like sight. They're normally sent back to their home and be thanked for fighting for their country. However, Teo who couldn't walk since the day he was born, can now fight back as well. He and his people all went through a time of darkness and they all emerged stronger.
As Survivors.
A Phoenix.
All this change is all the same. Now they can fight for this new home unlike the previous one. Let them do what makes them extraordinary and soar.
Tenya and Compress cheered for Teo for fighting and for being an inspiration.
"Wooooo Hooooo! Ya Ha!" Tenya cheered liking Teo soaring the skies.
18:13 - 18:34
The villains got their eyes when Aang used the Air Scooter to create an avalanche and bury the enemy soldiers under that snow.
Twice let out what the villains are thinking. "Did the Avatar… just kill those soldiers? Like how Mulan created an avalanche against the Hun Army," he said recalling the iconic scene from Disney's Mulan.
"Let's just pretend that the Avatar didn't kill anyone," Dabi said. "Pfft, it is not like the Avatar has to choose if he has to kill someone or not, later in his journey."
The Villains start to laugh hoping that the Avatar doesn't need to choose the idea of killing or not killing.
18:34 - 19:25
As the Air Refugees went to gather more bombs from Appa and Katara. The audience was surprised to see hooks being launched towards them.
"What was that?!" Kota shouted in fright believing that the Fire Nation was trying to harpoon Appa, it turns out it was much worse than simply killing the air bison.
Through the war, the Audience saw that the Fire Nation sailed the seas with their warship and roamed the lands with Rhinos. The audience thought that the Fire Nation would travel with Rhinos once again. However, they brought something bigger and stronger than a rhino. For the first time since coming to the Casino. The Audience witnesses this world's tanks.
"Sweet father of science… The Fire Nation has invented tanks." Melissa continues to examine the tank as it starts to climb up the Temple. "Great Scott! It can also climb up a mountain using those grappling hooks."
"It's going to reach the temple. They have to stop it!" Ochaco cries hoping that there is a way to stop the tank.
The audience watches as Aang tries to unhook their grapple, but even though the tank falls they can launch a second grappling hook and continue to climb back up.
"Shit, this bad!" Mineta said worried for the Northen Temple.
19:25 - 20:10
In the next scene, the Tanks reach the clear and easy-to-roam snowy ground. They were about to reach the main temple. The gliders tried to use their bombs they were very effective against the foot soldiers, but sadly it couldn't say the same with the tanks, and it does nothing inside.
Katsuki was frustrated that none of those bombs could tank down, or stop those thanks.
The audience watches as the Avatar tries to stop the tanks from their tracks. By flipping over the tanks with the use of Airbending. However, even though he was able to manage to do that. It was nothing for the tanks, as their cars could just invert themselves right-side-up and keep going.
"These tanks may not be high tech, but they're certainly way more unique than ones we have in our world," Melissa said frustrated unsure how would Team Avatar defeat these tanks.
20:10 - 20:50
Thankfully, Teo recognized these tanks from his father's old project and knew their weakness, as he went and told Katara.
The audience smiles when they learn the weakness of these tanks is water. They watch as Katara uses her Waterbending by using the snow and manipulating it towards her needs and disabling the tanks.
Aizawa smiled to see the young Waterbender grow and become stronger. He had thought that the frozen Thundras of her home the Southern Water Tribe would be an advantage for any waterbender, as much as the open seas.
20:50 - 21:14
As effective as bending is against the tanks. Aang and Katara are unumbered, and the ones who were gliding were probably injured seeing some were caught on fire during the first. It was time for them to retreat with Appa and return to the Northern Air temple.
More Bad news when Teo mentioned that they're out of bombs.
"This is bad, we know the odds were not in the refugee's favor against a whole troop of Fire Nation Soldiers. I wish we can help." Nejire said worried that the Fire Nation is getting closer to the Temple.
"It is time for their tramp card. Sokka and the inventor's war balloon. It is their only chance left." Mirio said hoping that there was still a chance of victory for the refugees.
21:14 - 21:42
The War Balloon heard their plea as Sokka and the Inventor had arrived.
Tomura is frustrated that none of the Fire Nation troops that none of them were even trying to pop the balloon. The Inventor believes there reason why they are not being popped is because of the Fire Nation Insignia.
Tomura throws his hands in frustration. "That's so stupid, that dumb balloon is a floating target shoot it down Firebenders!"
However. The Firebenders continue to believe that the War Balloon is on their side, and Sokka and the Inventor use the enemies' stupidity to their advantage.
The students laughed as the foot soldiers were covered in slime. They stop laughing to see that even the slime couldn't stop the tanks.
"Great, what can they do now?!" Mineta asked in a panic.
21:42 - 22:08
A familiar smell reached the noses of the audience.
Kota recognizes this smell. "What the hell, stinky rotten eggs smell. Where is it even coming from?"
The audience perks up, wondering where the rotten egg smell is coming from, until Sokka and the Inventor spot the source. The other exists of Natural Gas.
"Hey, they had found the other exit of the Natural Gas!" Mina was surprised to see the hole.
The audience perks up again recalling what the Inventor said about what would happen once something flammable reached the natural gas.
"OMFG, just under them is a bomb waiting to be ignited!" Sen has his eyes widen to see the hole.
"Why wait? They can use natural gas to their advantage. They just need to ignite it!" Yosetsu said hoping that Sokka would ignite the natural gas.
Thankful Sokka thought the same, by using their fire source. The War balloon's engine it reach the natural gas it would ignite.
The next part is where the fireworks sparks.
22:08 - 22:23
The audience watches as Sokka drops the engine towards the hole and everyone covers their ears towards what's to come.
Boom!
Hole
Lee
Shit!
That was the majority reaction of everyone as the explosion of the Natural Gas reached spread far distance. Even none of Katsuki's explosions were ever as huge as the one that Sokka caused using natural gas.
The villains were shaking. They were sure that the explosion had killed tons of the foot soldiers and the ones in the tanks.
Stain, however, is proud of Sokka and the efforts of Everyone. They had saved the refugees and their home the Northern Air Temple. The battle is epic and everyone is a hero in this day.
22:23 - 22:45
Team Avatar and the Refugees did it. They had saved their home and the Fire Nation will not be coming back.
As Aang went to save Sokka and the Inventor. All For One wonders where the War Balloon is landing once it hits the ground.
22:45 - 23:03
Once the battle ended. Team Avatar went to give their farewell, but not before Aang went to apologize to the refugees. He mentioned that even though they were not Air Nomads, he was happy that they were able to use the Northern Air Temple as their new home.
Kosei is happy too, and agrees with Aang. As much as he wants to know more about the Air Nomad culture and their history. The Northern Air Temple isn't a Museum of the fallen, It is a home.
It was always been a home, now new residents are living here and bringing life back to the ground.
No longer a land of despair, but a land of new life.
He also agreed with Teo, hearing those words from Aang meant a lot to them. Not because he is the Avatar, but because he is an Air Nomad.
Itsuka is happy to see Kosei smile to see that Kosei accepted the refugees to have the temple as their new home.
Setsuna on the other hand has something to talk about for later with the other girls of 1B, towards Itsuka's new crush on Tsuburaba.
23:03 - 23:17
Before Team Avatar leaves. Sokka made a good point about Air power, cause as long as they have their sky on their side. They can win the war against the Fire Nation.
Everyone cheered seeing that Sokka was right. That as long as they can attack from above. The Fire Nation doesn't stand a chance.
The audience learned a lot in this episode about accepting change and new beginnings toward others. The audience was also inspired by Teo and his determination to soar the skies despite being in a wheelchair. He was able to do extraordinary things, thanks to his father.
However. This isn't the end of the chapter. There is one more scene to go before the screen goes black.
23:17 - 23:24 (Last scene of the chapter)
The audience was shocked to see that the War balloon wasn't destroyed when it hit the ground. It was found by the Fire Nation.
All For One smiled at what the man said. 'This defeat is a gateway to many victories.' He agrees with him. Just like how the Fire Nation was able to create multiple tanks based on one design. They can do the same with this war balloon. The Fire Nation already sails the seas and roams the land. Eventually, they will soar through the skies and send death from above.
For the Fire Nation.
