Chapter 7: From Iida to Midoriya to Fenton
Mina spoke up, "So, let me get this straight. You're going to get Momo to make you another receiver, track a bad guy, and then try to save Bakugo all by yourselves?"
Kirishima nodded as Shoto explained, "The villains who attacked the camp planned to kill some of us. But they took Bakugo alive. What we don't know is how long they'll let him live. That's why we're going after him."
Tenya then shouted, "Have the two of you lost your minds?"
Shoji said, "Hey, calm down. I get how frustrated Kirishima is. And how Todoroki feels since he couldn't grab Bakugo. I'm upset, too. But, we can't let our emotions get the best of us. Right?" Everyone fell silent at that. Danny knew all too well about that.
Aoyama meekly said, "Um, we should just leave this to All Might. Mr. Aizawa only gave us permission to fight and use Quirks at the training camp." Danny noticed a look on Aoyama's face, like he was guilty about something.
Tokoyami said, "Aoyama is correct. Though, I'm part of the reason we failed. So, I can't talk."
Kirishima replied, "You guys!"
Tsuyu then spoke up, "Listen. We're all shocked that Bakugo was taken from us. But we have to be rational. It doesn't matter how noble your intentions. If you go out there trying to find the bad guys, knowing you're breaking the rules, then you're acting like villains, not heroes."
Everyone was silent at Tsuyu's words. Danny, however, knew that Tsuyu wasn't 100% correct. He was a vigilante back in Amity Park. Was he breaking the rules? Maybe, but he wanted to save his friends, his family, and his home. If he had to become a vigilante again to save Bakugo, then so be it.
Suddenly the door opened and a doctor stepped in, "Sorry for interrupting you guys. But I need a moment alone with Midoriya and Fenton."
Sero nodded, "Sure. Let's bolt. I wanna see how Jiro and Hagakure are doing."
Oijiro replied, "Good idea."
Ochaco waved at Izuku and Danny, "OK, feel better, you two."
Izuku replied, "Thank you for visiting me."
Danny added, "See you guys later."
Kirishima then said, "We talked to Yaoyorozu yesterday. If we're doing this, it's tonight. Look, Mirdoiya, I know you've got some pretty hardcore injuries. So, I don't know if you can go. But I wanted to invite you, since you probably feeling the worst. We'll meet in front of the hospital after dark. Fenton, same goes for you. I know you might be more up for it, since you recovered quickly. Think about it."
Tenya heard what Kirishima said before he left the room.
Everyone left and the doctor told Izuku, "Recovery Girl performed some pretty strong healing on your arms while you were unconscious so you should be able to move them around fairly well. But they were seriously messed up. You've done absurd damage to your body in the last few months. And, frankly, this is a whole new league of trauma."
Izuku asked, "You mean, I was hurt a lot worse this time?"
The doctor replied, "I took a look at your charts. Your past injuries were bad. Splintered bones and ripped muscles that were painful, sure, but could eventually be repaired. This time, the damage was devastating. Usually, a person's body has limiters that keep it from using more than 80 percent of its power at any given point. But in a crisis situation, it's possible for those limiters to fall away, allowing someone to use 100%. We call it hysterical strength. The reason we have those limiters in the first place is because our bodies can't handle that type of strain. You had this hysterical strength. And because of that, your power ended up overcharged for an extended period. It's bad that your bones and muscles to get battered, of course, but it's worse for your ligaments. Ligaments protect the joints, and yours have seriously degraded. In other words, if you sustain this type of injury, even just two or three more times, I don't think you're going to be able to move your arms anymore. For now, focus on rehabilitation. Use them a lot, even if it hurts, and we'll leave the rest to UA. I'll discharge you today, so you can go home and take it easy. Take this seriously."
Izuku put his head down, "Right. Thanks for your help, Doctor. I'm sorry for any trouble I caused."
The doctor replied, "Recovery Girl is fed up with you. But, hey. I get the impression that's nothing new. Also, don't forget you saved someone. Healing begins in the mind. Try not to worry. Stay positive." He handed Izuku a note from Kota.
He then turned to Danny, "As for you, Mr. Fenton, Recovery Girl couldn't do much when you were in whatever your other form is, but once you returned to normal, she gave you some IVs. Your stab wound healed nicely, but you will have a slight scar there."
Danny moved his hospital gown down a little and saw the scar right in the middle of his chest. "Great. Although, it could have been worse."
The doctor also handed Danny a note, "You saved many people. Don't forget that." The doctor then left.
Izuku read his note from Kota, who apologized for hitting him in the balls and thanked him for rescuing him. Danny's note from Kota also thanked the ghost hero, but also said that he was glad that someone understood his hurt more.
Izuku's phone then rang, "Hi, Mom. Yeah, I was discharged, but there's something I have to do, so I won't be home until tomorrow or so. Yeah, I can move now, at least. My body feels kind of run down and sluggish, though, even with all the healing they performed on me. I heard it's because UA wants to keep a close eye on the students. Well, that, and they want to keep the media out as long as they can."
Danny could only hear Izuku's part of the conversation, but noticed it took a turn when Izuku's face fell. Danny's phone then went off, and when he answered, he heard Jazz yelling into the phone. "Sis, I'm OK. Yes, I know getting stabbed wasn't part of the plan. Yes, I know I should have been more careful. Yes, I am being discharged soon. I'll be home tomorrow. Love you, too."
Meanwhile, Tsukauchi was recruiting heroes from all over Japan, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Gang Orca, Gran Torino, Tiger, Kamui Woods, and Mt. Lady.
Later that night, Kirishima and Shoto were waiting outside the hospital. They had asked Momo earlier to make another receiver, but she asked for time to think about it.
"I wonder what Yaoyorozu decided," Kirishima commented.
Shoto said, "No matter how much we wanna go after him, it's her choice."
Kirishima saw her walking out, "She's here."
But they saw that Danny and Izuku were behind her. Danny finally was able to go visit Momo after they were all discharged and he gave her a big hug and mumbled, "I'm glad that you're alright." Momo had blushed.
Kirishima asked, "So, how about it? You decide?"
Before Momo could answer, Tenya walked up to them, "Hold on."
"Why are you here?" Izuku asked.
Danny looked at Tenya, "This is about the Stain incident, isn't it."
Tenya nodded, then said, "You. Why did it have to be you three of all people? The ones who stopped me when I acted recklessly. Who received amnesty with me after Hosu. Why are you trying to make stupid mistakes I did? Didn't you learn?"
"What are you talking about?" Kirishima asked. But Shoto stopped him.
Tenya continued, "We are still just students. And UA's in a bad position as it is. Anything we do will reflect on our school! Don't you get that?"
Danny stepped forward, "Tenya, this is something we have to do. Something I have to do."
Izuku walked up to Tenya, "I know you don't like breaking the rules, but…."
But Tenya punched Izuku, "I'm frustrated, too! And concerned. Obviously! I'm the co class rep, dammit! I'm worried about our classmates. Not just Bakugo. When I saw your injuries, all I could think of was my brother in the hospital. What if your bodies end up irreparable, just like his, because I didn't step in. Have you not stopped to think about where I'm coming from? Or are you saying that you don't care how I feel?"
Danny said, "Of course we do. I'm class rep, of course. But this is more than that."
Shoto added, "We don't expect to face them head on and win. We can get him back without fighting."
"Yeah," Kirishima said. "We'll be stealthy. I'm taking covert ops here. Especially with Fenton here. We can rescue him without breaking the rules."
Momo then said, "I trust in Danny and Todoroki's judgment, but, still, things could always go wrong. So I'll join you as backup. I'll stand behind my classmates."
Tenya was shocked, "You can't be serious."
Danny smiled at Momo, "That's the spirit. Thank you, Momo."
Izuku then said, "I know I'm hurt. But if I can still move at all, then I can't just sit still. I have to reach out and do something. Because all I can think about is saving him."
Danny added, "That's what it means to be a true hero. Thinking of others before yourself. If that makes us vigilantes instead of heroes, then so be it. I understand that, trust me."
Tenya sighed, "We'll never agree. So I'm going to come with you."
Elsewhere, Shigaraki, along with the League of Villains, were all staring at Bakugo. Shigaraki asked, "I'll ask you one more time, Katsuki Bakugo. Aspiring hero. Will you join the League of Villains?"
Bakugo chuckled, "Go through yourself into traffic."
Back at the hospital, Tenya said, "Midoriya. I shouldn't have hit you back there. I'm sorry. Forgive me." He bowed to Izuku as part of the apology.
Momo then said, "I have some concerns, Iida. What exactly is your justification for changing your mind and joining us?"
Izuku told Tenya, "Hey, it's fine, you don't need to apologize."
Tenya said, "To be clear, I'm coming because I don't condone your behavior. It's as simple as that. If there's even a hint that physical combat might break out, I'll make you retreat immediately. So in other words, I'm your watchman!"
Shoto sighed, "Exactly what we needed."
Momo said, "The same goes for me. Rescuing Bakugo is a job for the pros. Objectively speaking, there's no reason for any of us to go after him. However, I understand how each of you feels, so I'm compromising. Don't forget that."
Shoto nodded, "Right."
"Understood," Kirishima added.
Izuku, Tenya, Shoto, and Kirishima walked ahead. Danny stayed back with Momo, as he noticed that she had a solemn look on her face. "What's wrong?"
Momo sighed, "A rescue without us fighting, it's not plausible. Everyone else is so driven by frustration that they're blinded. But once they see the situation first hand and realize how difficult it will be, they should understand their plan is completely unrealistic. As for you, it seems you understand the danger with this, yet want to do it anyway. As you said, it's more like being a vigilante than a hero. You have experience, don't you?"
Danny chuckled, "Guilty as charged. Yes, I was a vigilante back in America. But where I lived was a town in the middle of nowhere, so it really didn't matter to the government. However, for a long time, people saw me as a menace instead of a hero. But I still went out there and saved the day, despite all of that. It's the same here. I don't care what the law says. I have to save Bakugo. Saving people is part of me. My nature, so to speak. I know that this upcoming rescue might have some fighting. But we'll try to do this without violence. Only when necessary. I'll take care of that. Deal?"
Momo smiled, "Deal." They walked quickly to catch up with the others.
All six of them got on a train. Momo pulled out the tracker, "The coordinates indicate Camino Ward, Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture. Our travel time will be about two hours from here. We should arrive around ten o'clock tonight."
Izuku asked Shoto, "So, um, did you tell the rest of the class about this? Do they know what we're doing tonight?"
Shoto nodded, "Yes. And they tried their best to talk us out of it."
Kirishima added, "Yeah, even Uraraka ganged up on us and tried to get us to change our minds."
Shoto said, "Just to make sure, you know we're going against everyone's wishes, and being completely selfish by doing this. We can call this off if we want to. Although I suspect you, Fenton, are 100% for this."
Danny nodded, "Absolutely."
Kirishima added, "Does it look like I wanna turn back? Bakugo wouldn't think twice about going after the villains if he was here."
Shoto asked, "What about you, Midoriya?"
Izuku answered, "He's my friend. I refuse to turn back."
Shoto replied, "I see. All right, then."
They arrived at Camino Ward. Izuku was stunned, "So this is Camino Ward."
Shoto added, "It's so crowded."
Kirishima said, "Those villains are hiding somewhere in this city. Just tell me where to go!"
Danny held Kirishima by the collar, "Hold on there. We can't rush into this."
Momo agreed, "From now on, we're going to need to be extremely careful. These criminals already know what we look like, remember? We have to consider that we could be attacked at any moment."
Izuku nodded, "Yeah, you're right! Stealth mode."
Izuku got into a stealth pose, but Shoto said, "You're standing out even more, Midoriya."
Danny turned invisible, "I'm set. I could turn you all invisible, but that would use up a lot of my energy.
Tenya said, "Save your energy, Fenton. Besides, the rest of us won't be able to scout effectively since we're recognizable. We need to think of something."
Momo pointed to a clothing store, "I have an idea. Though it is a bit old school. Danny, you should join us. Save your energy."
Danny turned visible and sighed, "Fine."
They all went into the store and came out dressed differently, wearing adult clothes with different accessories like glasses, jewelry, wigs, mustaches, beards, even horns for Kirishima.. Izuku was trying to talk like a gangster with Kirishima's encouragement and Tenya was shouting that they were looking for hot girls.
Danny had his hair combed back and was wearing a cap backwards. He had sunglasses on along with long riding pants and a large baseball shirt. "This feels weird."
Momo came out wearing a dress, sunglasses, and makeup, "We'd stand out in this district dressed like kids."
Shoto asked, "Yaoyorozu, couldn't you have used your Quirk for this to save money?"
Momo groaned, "Well, technically, but that's against the rules. If I started making everything, think of the impact on the economy. We must ensure the flow of commerce! That's right! It's our civic duty. As citizens!"
Danny said, "Chill out. We're supposed to blind in, remember?"
Momo calmed down, "Everyone. Our destination is this way."
They started to walk when they saw a news report on the big screen. Everyone stopped as they saw Aizawa, Nezu, and Vlad King at a press conference.
Aizawa said to the reporters, "We are here to apologize. A recent incident allowed harm to come to 27 first year heroes. And we staff were ill prepared. We take responsibility for any trauma caused by our negligence. It's our duty to train heroes, but also to protect heroes in training."
Kirishima said, "This is crazy. He hates being on TV."
Danny shrugged, "Sometimes you have to do something you hate in order to make peace."
A reporter asked how the teachers explained what happened to the families and how they are taking steps for the future.
Izuku was pissed, "They're treating them like villains."
Nezu answered the reporter's question, "We will increase patrols around the school grounds, and review security measures within the school. The safety of UA's students is our main priority, make no mistake about it."
The crowd around the six were grumbling about what was said. Danny saw the look in everyone's eyes. Looks he has seen before. "Hate. They're starting to hate heroes. Just like how most people in Amity Park hated me."
Back at the League's hideout, Shigaraki had the report playing on the TV. Then he turned it off, "Isn't that strange? The heroes are becoming the bad guys. Seems like they're not dealing with this very well at all. So much criticism. But everyone makes a mistake or two, right? It's not like they're supposed to be perfect. Modern day heroes sure have it rough. Don't you think, Bakugo?"
Spinner added, "Once a hero receives payment to protect people, they aren't a real hero anymore. That's what Stain's actions taught us."
Shigaraki continued, "A hero in this current system only cares about money and glory. And since society buys into those idiotic rules, anyone deemed a loser is shoved aside. So, we want to pose some questions. What is a hero? What is justice? Is this society truly fair? Soon, everyone will be asking. That's when we'll know we've won. And you like winning. Don't you? Like how you wanted to win the sports festival so badly, but that ghost kid beat you. Doesn't that upset you so much?"
He turned to Dabi, "Let him go."
Dabi protested, "You know he'll just fight."
Shigaraki replied, "It's fine. We're recruiting him, so we should treat him as an equal. Besides, he's smart enough to know he can't take us all, right? After all, UA students are so clever."
Dabi turned to Twice, "You do it."
Twice replied, "Sure thing. No way."
Dabi said, "Do it."
Twice sighed, "Oh, man."
Mr. Compress said, "I do apologize for such forceful methods. But please understand that we aren't some kind of unruly mob committing crimes without a third act in mind. We didn't kidnap you by accident."
Twice was unlocking Bakugo as Shigaraki stood up, "Even though our backgrounds are different, everyone here has suffered. Because of people. Rules. And heroes who try to hold us back. I'm sure you're the same."
Bakugo suddenly punched Twice then unleashed a powerful blast in Shigaraki's face, causing the hand covering his face to come off. He growled, "I'm done listening to your endless talking. Can you not get to the point, or do you just like to listen to your own voice? Basically, what you're saying is you wanna cause some trouble and you want me to join you. Well, screw you. I like to win. I wanna win just like All Might. No matter what you have to offer me, that will never change, do you understand? And rubbing my loss to Fenton in my face isn't going to change my mind, either. I will beat him one day and become the number one hero, just like All Might."
Shigaraki was pissed. He looked down at the fallen hand and muttered, "Father."
Chapter 8: All For One
Back with the reporters, Aizawa answered a reporter's question about him giving the students permission to fight during the attack, "I concluded that because we didn't know the full situation. Allowing them to use their Quirks would help avoid the worst possible outcome."
The same reporter asked, "And what would that outcome be? Do you think 26 victims and one kidnapped child is a win for UA High?"
Aizawa answered, "I assure you that things could have gone much more poorly. I feared every student would be tortured and killed in the end."
Nezu added, "Most of the victims were harmed by the gas attack. We've determined it to be the result of a poisonous Quirk used by one of the villains. It's thanks to the actions of Ms. Kendo and Mr. Tetsutetsu that injuries were kept to a bare minimum. Additionally, we're providing mental health counseling to every student, though at the moment, we do not see any signs of serious psychological trauma."
The reporter asked, "So you've found a bright spot in this tragedy?"
Nezu answered, "We're relieved that an entire class of burgeoning heroes still has a future."
The reporter asked, "Can you say the same thing for the abducted, Katsuki Bakugo? He enrolled in your school with excellent marks, and went on to get second in the sports festival. Before that, he survived the attack of a powerful sludge villain who eventually had to be taken down by All Might. The boy is obviously strong and heroic. On the other hand, the violence he displayed in the finals and his attitude at the awards ceremony both showed that he cannot control his temper. What if this is the real reason the villains kidnapped him? What if they're brainwashing Bakugo right now, pulling him toward the path of evil? How can you sit there and tell us he still has a future?"
Vlad King was getting nervous. He knew that this reporter knew what he was doing, trying to get Aizawa to act out, given that he hates the press.
But Aizawa surprised everyone by standing and bowing, "As Katsuki Bakugo's teacher, I take full responsibility for not taming his violent behavior. However, his actions at the sports festival were born from his deep-seated convictions. He's trying harder than anyone in his pursuit to become the top hero. If the villains think that they have a chance with him, then they are grossly mistaken. I can guarantee you that much."
The reporter countered, "That doesn't amount to real evidence, though. I didn't ask you how you feel, I asked you if you had concrete information."
Nezu answered, "We're doing our best with the intel we currently have available. I have no doubt the police will break this case very soon. We won't rest until our missing student is returned to UA."
Meanwhile, Bakugo heard that from the TV as he faced his kidnappers, "Hah! Did ya hear the teachers? They get me more than I thought. I'll never join your league of bastards! We may not be at camp, but I'm still allowed to fight!"
Magne commented, "He must have figured out he's important to us. What a clever boy."
Dabi said, "No. He's a fool."
Toga added, "Let me stab him."
Mr. Compress said, "A clever performer would've acted like we were winning him over. Now that he's broken character, he's finished."
Bakugo replied, "I only do whatever I want to, and I won't even pretend otherwise. And I'm tired of being surrounded by a bunch of lame ass wannabes."
Many of the villains started to charge at Bakugo, but Shigaraki held his hand up while putting the hand back on his face, "Don't lay a finger on him. Any of you. This "hero" is still a valuable piece. I wish you would've listened to what I had to say. I thought you and I could come to an understanding."
Bakugo asked, "What, you think we're the same? Not a chance."
Shigaraki replied, "Then I have no choice. The heroes said they'd continue their investigation of our group, so we don't have time to stand here and talk." He turned to the TV behind him, "Master. Lend me your power."
His master, All For One, was listening. "That is a wise decision, Tomura Shigaraki."
Elsewhere, the group of six were walking to where Momo was leading them. They stopped near an abandoned building. Momo said, "OK, this is the spot the tracker is broadcasting from."
Kirishima asked, "So that's their hideout? Not a bad one, I guess."
Danny shrugged, "Maybe, maybe not."
Momo continued, "According to the tracking history, the villain hasn't left this location for the past day. But that's all we know. One villain is hiding here, but that could be it. They might have Bakugo somewhere else. We're going into this operation completely blind for the most part. Please try to proceed logically."
Tenya commented, "I don't like this. Only Fenton is good at sneaking around, since he can literally turn invisible. If I think things are going to be the least bit dangerous, we're done. I won't hesitate to call the police, either. To make sure my friends are safe."
Izuku said, "Thank you, Iida."
Danny added, "Don't worry. I'll pull us out quickly if things are looking too dangerous. I don't want anything to happen to you guys.
Izuku then commented, "So, what can we do with what's in front of us? Let me see here. The prerequisite is that we don't use our Quirks to fight the villains, and on top of that, we need to figure out…."
Kirishima said, "It's been a while since I've seen him this weird."
Momo added, "Yeah, this is truly peak Midoriya."
Danny smacked Izuku on the head, "Dude, chill out. You're going all geek again. Calm down a bit."
Over at the police station, Endeavor asked, "Why should I clean up UA's messes? I'm a very busy man, as you know."
Best Jeanist said, "Get off your high horse. You are a UA alum."
Tsukauchi added, "We can't call any heroes away from the school. There is a bigger picture, Endeavor. It's possible this incident is the beginning of the end for Hero society. We'll stop at nothing to resolve this successfully."
Best Jeansit commented, "During the internships, I invited Bakugo to my agency to try and reform him. I've met very few as stubborn as him. I imagine he's fighting back. We need to hurry."
Gang Orca added, "Not even you were able to change his behavior."
Best Jeanist sighed, "Yes. He was inflexible, pride sewn into his very core."
Tiger commented, "My comrade, Ragdoll, was also taken. This is my chance to get her back."
Tsukauchi said, "Thanks to the tracking devices set by one of the students, we now believe there are two separate hideout locations. We know from our investigations where the kidnapped victim is located. We'll send the bulk of our forces there. Retrieving Bakugo is our priority. At the same time, we'll gain control of the other hideout. This will cut off their paths of retreat. We'll arrest them all at once."
Gran Torino turned to All Might, "Toshinori. If they're recruiting old men like me, then…"
All Might replied, "What are you suggesting? You're still Gran Torino. And with such staggering stakes at hand. We can be sure that he is involved."
Gran Torino realized, "All For One."
Tsukauchi said, "We have the element of surprise. These villains will not succeed! At the press conference earlier, we had Principal Nezu act clueless to deceive the villains. He feigned ignorance on camera, as if we didn't have any leads. After hearing his words, the villains won't expect us to rush in on the very same day. We'll retaliate. It's time for our counterattack! Remind the world what you can do, heroes!"
Back with the group of six, they were still observing the building the tracker led them to. Momo commented, "We've gotten pretty close, but I haven't seen anything move inside."
Kirishima added, "And not a single light is on. It doesn't look like anyone is home."
Shoto said, "They're hiding this lair in plain sight. It looks like any other abandoned warehouse."
Izuku commented, "The weeds under the front door are thick and undisturbed. There must be another way to get in. Maybe someone's Quirk is hiding it. We can't just enter carelessly. It could be a trap."
Danny suggested, "Maybe I could phase through and see…."
Suddenly two drunk men approached them, mainly Momo, "Hey. You looking for a real man, darling? Ditch these losers and come drink with us."
Danny stepped forward and tilted his glasses down to show off his glowing green eyes, "Get lost. Now." His voice was dark and eerie. The two men got scared and ran off.
Momo turned to Danny, "Thank you."
Danny put his glasses back on, "No problem."
They all went to another location nearby. Shoto said, "It's not crowded, but there are people around."
Momo added, "We can't draw attention to ourselves. So, what's our next move?"
Danny said, "Like I was saying, I can phase in and take a look. Let's go around the back. It's probably the best chance of getting some solid intel."
They slid through the thin alley. Momo said, "This is so narrow. I might get stuck."
Danny grabbed onto her hand and made them both intangible. "There. Now you should move through no problem."
Izuku pointed to a window, "There! We should be able to get a look through that window."
Danny turned intangible, and his ghost sense started to go off. "Momo, you said you attached the tracker to a Nomu, right?"
Momo nodded, and Danny continued, "Then it's here. Otherwise, you all wouldn't be seeing my cold breath right now."
Kirishima pulled out a night scope, "I actually brought this with me for this mission. When I thought about what we'd have to do, I figured we might need it."
Danny nodded, "Alright. I'll phase in, Kirishima will be my backup." He then turned intangible and went inside.
Kirishima got on Tenya's shoulders and viewed through the night scope, "Looks pretty trashed. Doesn't look like….." He suddenly stammered and almost fell off Tenya's shoulders.
Izuku asked, "What's wrong?"
Shoto quickly put Izuku on his shoulders and hoisted him up, "Were you spotted? Was Fenton?"
Kirishima handed Izuku the night scope, "The back left. The corner, Midoriya. Look!"
Izuku took the night scope and looked at where Kirishima pointed to. He was shocked to see tanks upon tanks of Nomu.
Danny was inside invisible and his ghost sense was going crazy. He saw all the tanks of Nomu. He felt his rage build up. "They're all experiments. But if my ghost sense is going off, and these aren't ghosts, then…..these are dead bodies. Someone is reanimating the dead and giving them multiple Quirks. How dare they!" He looked over and saw someone lying on a table. He recognized who it was, "Ragdoll!"
Suddenly Danny heard Kirishima scream, "Hey, isn't that…..Danny get out of there. Now!"
Danny quickly phased out of the building just as Mt. Lady, crushed part of the building down. She along with Best Jeanist and Gang Orca neutralized all of the Nomu. Tiger rushed in and grabbed Ragdoll off of the table. Several police officers were behind them.
Best Jeanist reported, "We have control. The Nomu are neutralized."
At the same time, at the League hideout, Bakugo said, "A master? I thought you were the boss around here. But you're a sidekick."
Shigaraki said, "Kurogiri. Compress. It's time to put him back to sleep."
Mr. Compress sighed, "I can't believe he's such a bad audience member. It's almost impressive."
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, "Hello? I gotta pizza delivery here."
But then All Might smashed through the nearby wall. Kamui Woods came in behind him and quickly binded all the villains.
Dabi tried to burn through his bindings, but Gran Torino jumped in and knocked him out, "Don't do anything foolish. It's in your best interest to cooperate with us."
All Might complimented Kamui Woods, "Just what I'd expect from a competent new hero." Then he turned to Gran Torino, "And a veteran pro who moves faster than the eye can see." He turned to the captured villains. "You can't run anymore, League of Villains! Understand? Because we are here now!"
Mr. Compress asked, "Right after the press conference? They had this ruse planned the whole time!"
Twice shouted, "Tree man! You're hugging me too tight! Harder!"
Edgeshot slid through the closed door then opened it, "One tends to neglect defense when they're on the offense. But we didn't come alone. Take a look. You're surrounded by the police. Not to mention powerful heroes like Endeavor."
Said hero complained outside, "Tsukauchi! Why does Edgeshot get to rush into the fight while I'm stuck out here with you?"
Tsukauchi answered, "Because if someone slips out, we'll need you to capture them immediately." Endeavor huffed in annoyance.
All Might turned to Bakugo, "Ah, you must've been scared. But you stayed strong. I;m sorry. You're safe now, young man."
Bakugo shouted, "What? I wasn't scared! Not even close!"
Shigarkai grumbled, "After I went through all the trouble of preparing this, the final boss goes and shows up at my doorstep. Everyone's been restrained. There's no easy way to escape. It can't be helped. So, they've got backup, huh? Well, we do, too." He then shouted, "Kurogiri! Warp over as many as you can!" But nothing happened. "What are you waiting for, dammit?"
Kurogiri replied, "I'm sorry, Tomura Shigaraki. The Nomus were supposed to be in a fixed location, but they're gone."
All Might chuckled as he walked over to Bakugo, "It seems you have a lot to learn, Shigaraki. You're still green. Your little League underestimated all of us. The soul of this young man. The police's diligent investigations. And our righteous fury! Enough is enough. Your game has come to an end, Tomura Shigaraki."
Spinner yelped, "All Might, please! You're the only hero Stain respected! You are worthy!"
Shigaraki grunted, "You think it's over? Don't be stupid. I've only just begun to play. Justice. Peace. You created a garbage society by lifting up such ridiculous ideals. That's why I targeted you, All Might. It's why I started gathering people to my cause. You think this is the end? Then you've lost. Kurogiri!"
But Kurogiri suddenly passed out. Magne was confused, "What just happened? I couldn't see anything. Did they kill him?"
Edgeshot revealed himself, "I played around with his insides and made him fall unconscious. Ninpo: Thousand Sheet Pierce. He was such a nuisance. He had to sleep."
Gran Torino then said, "Weren't you listening earlier? You'll all be better off if you take us seriously. Kenji Hikiishi. Atsuhiro Sako. Shuichi Iguchi. Himiko Toga. Jin Bubaigawara. Though they had little time and information, the police worked through the night to discover your true identities. Do you understand? There's nowhere left for any of you to run. So Shigaraki, one question. Where is your boss hiding?"
Shigaraki whispered, "No. This is not over. Just you wait. The game is still mine."
All Might shouted, "You'll tell us where he is right now!"
Shigaraki replied, "Go away. Disappear. This is your fault. I hate you!"
Suddenly Nomu appeared out of thin air. Everyone was confused. Kamui Woods said, "Nomu! How'd they get here? What is this?"
Gran Torino shouted, "Damn it, Edgeshot! Stop Kurogiri!"
Edgeshot replied, "He's still out. This isn't his doing."
Gran Torino said, "They keep on coming."
All Might turned to Kamui Woods, "Don't release them under any circumstances, got it?"
Suddenly the same material that made the Nomu appear came out of Bakugo's mouth. He was swallowed up and he disappeared.
All Might was pissed, "No!"
Kamui Woods shouted, "Endeavor! Help us!" But he saw that more Nomu appeared next to Endeavor and the police.
Endeavor shouted, "Tsukauchi! Evacuate the area!"
Tsukauchi realized, "They're from the other hideout. Their location should be locked down. Come in, Jeanist. What the hell is going on over there?" But there was no reply.
Inside, All Might and Gran Torino were fighting off the Nomu. Gran Torino asked, "Toshinori, what now?"
All Might replied, "They shouldn't have been able to warp Nomu here. And this backup came too fast! I fear that he has made a move."
Shigaraki whispered, "Master."
A few minutes earlier, back at the other hideout, Danny rushed over to his friends. "Are you guys OK?"
Momo nodded, along with everyone else. Kirishima looked out, "Gang Orca and Mt. Lady? Whoa, even Best Jeanist is here."
Momo added, "And Mr. Tiger, too."
Danny looked out as well, "Looks like they found Ragdoll. I saw her there along with all the Nomu. Good."
Mt. Lady asked, "Are these gross dudes still alive? I thought we'd be in for a fight, but this was super easy. Maybe we should've left this to the police and gone with All Might."
Best Jeanist replied, "Difficulty and importance are two very different things, rookie. Riot squad, get the transports ready. There could be more of them. Be on your guard."
Tiger looked down at Ragdoll, "Come on, Ragdoll. Wake up for me!"
Gang Orca asked, "Is that your teammate? She's breathing. That's good."
Tiger replied, "Yes, but look at her. What have they done to you, my friend?"
Over with the students, Tenya said, "Everything's fine. The heroes were on top of this way before we were."
Kirishima added, "This is great!"
Tenya said, "Now then, let's go home. At least we won't have to explain ourselves."
Izuku commented, "It sounded like All Might was somewhere else. Does that mean he's rescued Kacchan?"
Danny replied, "If All Might's at the scene, then I'm sure he helped rescue Bakugo."
"Alright," Momo said. "Let's go."
They all started to walk away, but Danny felt something was off. He also heard echoing footsteps. Izuku noticed it too. Everyone stopped when they saw that Danny and Izuku weren't following them.
The pro heroes also heard the footsteps coming from the depths of the building. A voice called out, "I'm sorry, Tiger. But Ragdoll's Quirk was so useful. I just had to take it. How could I not?"
Gang Orca asked, "Are you with the League?"
Tiger shouted, "Somebody get us a light."
The figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing it was All For One. "Since my body was mostly destroyed, I haven't been able to stock up on Quirks."
Gang Orca shouted, "Stop right there!" Best Jeanist quickly used his Quirk to tie All For One up and stop him in his tracks.
Mt. Lady said, "Hey! You can't attack like that! What if he's just a bystander?"
Best Jeanist replied, "Think about the situation. A moment of hesitation could decide the fight. We can't let these villains try anything."
But then All For One sent out a dark electrical shockwave that sent everyone flying. Danny quickly put up a ghost shield and protected himself and his friends.
Once the dust settled, Danny put the shield down as his friends hid behind a wall. Danny quickly followed them. But he saw that his friends were all white as ghosts, scared out of their minds.
Danny looked around the corner and saw All For One walk out of the rubble, "Tomura has finally started thinking rationally and making decisions for himself. I do wish that you hadn't gotten in his way."
Izuku was freaking out internally, "Don't tell me that this is All For One."
Danny felt the massive aura of the man. His eyes started to glow green as he whispered, "All For One."
All For One then asked, "Now then, shall we begin?"
Chapter 9: Symbol of Peace
Back at the main hideout, right after Bakugo disappeared, black mist came out of the captured villains' mouths, meaning they were going to be teleported away too.
"No!" Kamui Woods shouted.
Gran Torino shouted, "Stop them! Before they all disappear!"
All Might charged at Shigaraki, "Damn it! You won't escape, Shigaraki! Take me with you!" But it was too late. All the villains disappeared.
Kamui Woods shouted, "No! I'm so sorry!"
Edgeshot replied, "This wasn't your fault. None of us were able to do anything. Kurogiri's Quirk opens up warp gates that allow anyone to pass through. But this was targeting specific people."
The Nomu were still there attacking them. All Might shouted, "Oklahoma Smash!" He created a whirlwind, knocking several Nomu out of the building.
Outside, the police had their hands full with the Nomu. Endeavor kept attacking them, "More of them? I thought we were supposed to have a handle on these!"
Tsuakuchi replied, "Jeanist isn't answering me anymore. It's possible they failed at the Nomu factory."
Endeavor said, "This is putting a lot of stress on my power."
All Might shouted down, "Endeavor! Are you keeping up?"
Endeavor retorted, "Does it look like I'm having any trouble? Worry about your own responsibilities, you fool. If you're going to go after them, now's the time."
All Might said, "Right. I'll leave you to it."
Back with All For One, he floated over to Best Jeanist, clapping, "I see why you're the number four hero, Best Jeanist. That blast should have annihilated the lot of you. But you were able to manipulate everyone's clothing and pull them out of the way just in time. Quick thinking. Consider me impressed."
Best Jeanist was lying on the ground, hurt and afraid, as he heard at the police station about this man in front of him. "It wasn't supposed to go like this. But that doesn't matter. A true hero doesn't believe in excuses."
He tried to attack, but All For One retorted by sending a powerful blast that wounded Best Jeanist right in the abdomen.
All For One said, "Now I see. Your strength comes from practice and practical experience, not raw power. I don't need your Quirk. It wouldn't pair well with Tomura's disposition."
Danny was staring at All For One from his hiding spot, "This guy steals Quirks. Just like All Might said. Definitely a villain." He looked over at his friends and they were all still frozen in fear.
Then he heard someone coughing. He turned and saw Bakugo, along with the League of Villains appear in front of All For One.
Bakugo coughed, "What the hell?"
All For One replied, "My apologies, Bakugo."
Toga mumbled, "This is so gross."
Twice said, "This black stuff reeks. I love it!"
Shigaraki bowed to All For One, "Master."
All For One replied, "So. You've failed once more, Tomura. But you must not be discouraged. You'll try again. That's why I brought your associates with you. Even this child, because you judged that he was an important piece on your game board. Start over as many times as it takes. I am here to provide you with help. All of this is for you."
Danny heard Izuku mumbling about needing to do something. Izuku tried to take a step forward, but Tenya stopped him.
Momo seemed to come out of her stupor and whispered, "We need a plan to escape. I have an idea."
Danny grinned, "So do I. Bakugo is right there in front of us. Izuku and Tenya have the speed to grab him. But you guys need a distraction. I'll be that distraction."
Kirishima whispered, "Are you crazy? You'll be killed by that guy."
Danny replied, "I can do it. I've fought tough guys like him before. I'm here to protect all of you. Just trust me."
Momo nodded, "OK, here's the plan."
Before Momo could say anything, they heard All For One say, "Ah. There you are."
Suddenly All Might charged in from the sky, right at All For One, who caught him by the fists.
All Might growled, "I'll have you return my student, All For One."
All For One replied, "Have you come to kill me a second time, All Might?"
The force of it all blew everyone on the battlefield away. All For One said, "It took you long enough to find us. It's only five kilometers from the bar to here, and yet it was at least 30 seconds after I sent the Nomus that you arrived. You've gotten weaker, All Might."
All Might retorted, "You're one to talk, it's kind of difficult to ignore that fancy life support mask you've got on. Aren't you overexerting yourself? I won't repeat the mistake I made five years ago. You hear me? I will take Young Bakugo back. And I will make certain you're locked up for the rest of your sad life. Right along with your despicable League of Villains."
All For One chuckled, "Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. This will be hard for us both."
All Might charged in, but All For One countered the attack by enlarging his arm and sending a powerful air blast that sent All Might far away.
All For One said, "Hm. Air Cannon plus Spring-Like Limbs. Kinetic Booster times four. Strength Enhancer times three. What a delightful combination. Maybe a few more enhancers next time."
Bakugo gasped, "All Might!"
All For One said, "Don't you worry. It'll take more than that to kill him. Get off the battlefield, Tomura. And take that child with you." Suddenly red and black vines came out of his fingers and went right into Kurogiri. "Kurogiri. Warp them away."
Magne shouted, "Be careful! One of the heroes messed with him and he's unconscious. I'm not sure what's going on, but if you can teleport, why don't you get us out of here?"
All For One replied, "My warp Quirk is still new, Magne. There is much I need to learn about it. Its distance is limited, and while he can teleport to certain coordinates, I only teleport people to and from my own location. Or, with focus, to and from someone I am very familiar with. That is all. It's easier to have Kurogiri do it. Forcible Quirk Activation. Leave this place." A portal opened above Kurogiri.
Shigaraki asked, "What about you?"
They heard something and saw that All Might was charging towards them. All For One floated into the air, "You're not thinking, Tomura. There remains much room for you to grow."
"You're mine!" All Might shouted. He charged in, and All For One caught his punch.
Mr. Compress got Shigaraki's attention while turning Dabi into a marble to carry him, "Let's go, Shigaraki. While our masked lead is keeping All Might entertained. Claim your prize."
All the villains stared at Bakugo, who grinned, "This is gonna be fun."
Over with the group of six, Danny transformed into Phantom, "OK, time's up. All Might is busy with All For One, so he can't reach Bakugo. It's up to us."
"He's right," Izuku said. "There's another way we can do this without violence. At least minus Danny. It'll let us escape with Kacchan. Although, this plan will depend on what he'll do."
Phantom replied, "I'll make sure he goes with you guys. Although, Momo, what was your plan?"
Momo answered, "It's OK. Izuku sounds like he has a better plan than I did. Let's hear his."
Izuku told everyone, then looked at Kirishima, "You're the key to this being a success!"
Kirishima was shocked, but nodded his head with determination.
Phantom added, "I'll add to that. I'm going to go against the rest of the League. Make sure they don't escape. It'll be hard with the big boss nearby, but I have to try. I'll be the distraction. I may have to use my ultimate move at that point, leaving me vulnerable afterward. Once that happens, Momo, use this." He pulled out a small device and handed it to Momo. "When you see the button start flashing, push it."
Momo looked at the device, "What is this?"
Phantom sighed, "It's a long story, but it's an invention my parents never fully tested. I'm hoping it'll work. It should teleport me to your location. I have the smaller half of it on my belt."
Izuku asked, "But what if…"
Phantom stopped him, "I know. But if the big boss wants to come after me, so be it."
Meanwhile, All For One was able to hold over All Might's punches. "Are you holding back against me? Trying to keep the boy from being blown away? You've put yourself in quite the predicament. So how will the hero prevail?"
Bakugo was still staring down the rest of the League, when suddenly Shigaraki was punched out of nowhere. The villain looked around, "What? Don't tell me that brat's here!"
Toga then got blasted backwards by an ecto blast. Phantom then appeared right in front of Bakugo, "That's for stabbing me, bitch."
Spinner was shocked, "It's that ghost boy. The one Stain said is worth more than this world can offer. He is worthy just like All Might."
"A surprise act," Mr. Compress said. "What an interesting twist."
Bakugo asked, "Fenton, what are you doing here?"
Phantom smirked, "Saving your ass, didn't you figure that out? Now, get out of here. I'll fight them off."
Bakugo shouted, "You don't get to tell me what to do, Fenton!" He blasted himself into the air.
Phantom smirked, "Just what I thought you'd do."
Back with the other students, Izuku was explaining the plan again as he, Tenya, and Kirishima got set up, "First, we'll propel ourselves using my Quirk, combined with Iida's Recipro. Then, using Kirishima's Hardening, we'll break through the wall. The second we've cleared it, Todoroki will make a huge slab of ice for us. As high as he possibly can. The villains will still be distracted by Danny. Up until now, they've been able to outmaneuver us. But we're finally in the position to get the jump on them. And we'll cross the battlefield at a height that they'll never hope to reach. Right now, the guy in charge of the villains is holding All Might back. But that means the reverse is true, too. The last part's up to you, Kirishima. It's no good if I do it. Or Todoroki, or Iida, or Yaoyorozu, or even Danny. Ever since school started, you've built a solid relationship with Kacchan as equals. If his friend calls to him, he'll listen."
Izuku then activated his Quirk along with Tenya as Shoto created a giant ice slab. The three boys propelled off of the slab high into the sky. All For One saw it and tried to intervene, but All Might stopped him. Kirishima looked down at Bakugo and shouted, "Come on!"
Shigarkai tried to run after Bakugo but Phantom blasted him away. Bakugo propelled himself further off the ground and caught Kirishima's hand. "You idiots."
Tenya said, "Bakugo. On my mark, you give us a giant…."
Bakugo interrupted, "Don't tell me what to do, dammit!"
Kirishima shouted, "It's not the time to fight, guys!"
Shoto mumbled to Momo, "Just as we thought. All eyes on them. Let's go."
Momo looked out towards Phantom, "Will Danny be OK?"
Shoto nodded, "Yes, he will. You have his out strategy in your hands. Now, come on." They both ran away while the distraction was still happening.
Shigaraki glared at Phantom, "Why do you brats keep showing up everywhere?"
Phantom grinned, "We're teenagers. We're supposed to be annoying."
All Might mumbled, "Seriously? You kids."
Mr. Compress shouted, "Don't let them get away! Who here can do distance?"
Spinner answered, "Dabi and Kurogiri, but they're both down."
Magne was about to answer, but Phantom charged in and punched him so hard that Magne fell unconscious. He then did the same to Mr. Compress and Spinner. "No holding back this time." He then saw Twice charging towards him, but then Gran Torino charged in and knocked Twice out.
Phantom grinned, "What's up, old man?"
Gran Torino huffed, "You shouldn't be here. But I'm not surprised.
He landed near All Might, who said, "You're too slow."
Gran Torino countered, "You're just too fast, hot shot. So you saw both of them? They are turning out more like you everyday. Although ghost boy has been like you since I first met him."
Phantom floated over to the two pros, "Aww, you do care, old man."
All For One stood up from where All Might punched him into the ground, "Shimura's friend, huh? And what's this? That American boy who won the sports festival. Interesting."
All Might turned to Phantom, "It's shameful that I needed your help along with your friends. But I give my thanks." He then turned to All For One. "And now, I don't have to pull any punches against you. You're finished."
Gran Torino pointed towards Shigaraki and Toga, "Two left over here. Ghost boy and I can handle them."
Phantom glared at the two villains with his glowing green eyes, "With pleasure." Toga shook a little where she stood.
All For One said, "They got us. Turned the tables of this fight with a single move." He then shot out the black and red vines right into Magne and forcibly activated his Quirk. All the male villains moved right towards Toga. All of them went through the portal, except Shigaraki.
Phantom tried to fly after them, but All For One unleashed an electrical attack at Phantom, forcing the ghost hero to the ground, screaming in pain.
All For One chuckled, "A little birdie told me that you had a negative reaction to being electrocuted. I see that is true."
Shigaraki tried to fight back, "Wait. Don't, Master! Your body is too damaged!"
Gran Torino tried to stop Shigaraki, but All For One attacked him.
All For One forced Shigaraki through the portal, "Tomura. You must continue to fight." he then turned to Phantom, who was still being electrocuted, "As for you, I've seen and heard about what you can do. I find your Quirk most interesting."
All Might and Gran Torino rushed to save Phantom, but All For One said, "Warping. Plus Shock Inversion." Gran Torino was warped right in front of All Might, taking the blow.
"I'm sorry," All Might muttered.
All For One floated over to Phantom and picked him up, still giving the boy electric shocks. "I only came here to save Tomura. But if you say you're going to fight, then I'll face you, if you wish, All Might. In the past, your fist crushed one after another of my comrades. Many were forced into the shadows, underground. While you were extolled as the Symbol of Peace. What a grand view you must have had atop our sacrifices. A hero standing on the mountain of our defeats."
All Might shouted, "Detroit Smash!"
But All For One blocked it, although All Might was able to grab Gran Torino.
All For One chuckled, "You stopped the attack yourself. You still won't fight me with your full power, huh? Because doing so would endanger all those people you've sworn to protect. Including this boy here." The electrical attacks stopped and Phantom seemingly passed out.
All Might growled, "Let go of the boy!"
All For One chuckled, "Oh, I will. But first, I think I'll take this boy's Quirk for myself. It's one of the most powerful I've ever come across."
But as All For One tried, he found that he couldn't. Suddenly Phantom woke up, "Made you look." And he blasted All For One away with a powerful ecto blast.
All For One was confused, "But how?"
Phantom chuckled, "You were so busy monologuing that I pretended to pass out so that you would stop the electricity. And as you kept monologuing, I stored up enough energy to blast you away from me. You are such a fruit loop, dude."
All For One growled, "You will pay for that. Although you now intrigue me even more."
All Might shouted, "You shut up! Always toying with people, probing their weaknesses. You steal. Break them. Manipulate and discard them. You scoff at innocent people who are just trying to lead happy lives."
All For One tried to attack, but All Might countered, "It cannot continue. I won't let it!" He then punched All For One right in his masked face, straight to the ground.
Phantom noticed Gran Torino and flew over to him, "Are you OK?"
Gran Torino groaned, "I'll live another day. Very clever of you what you did. But, Toshinori….he's reached his limit."
Phantom looked over and saw that All Might was in between his hero and normal form.
All For One chuckled, "What's wrong? You seem to be worked up about something, All Might. I've heard that exact same line before, you know. From the person who had One For All before you. Nana Shimura."
Chapter 10: One For All
In the city, Shoto pulled out his cell phone and called Izuku, "Midoriya. Are you four safe?"
Izuku replied, "Yeah. How about you guys? No one saw you?"
Shoto said, "I don't think so. We're on the street, blending in with the crowd now. Some pros are here helping people evacuate."
Izuku replied, "Good. We're stopped in front of the station. Luckily, we missed that last shockwave. Our rescue totally worked."
Bakugo shouted, "A rescue? That's not what happened back there. You idiots just happened to be my best escape route."
Kirishima grinned, "You're welcome."
Bakugo then said, "I had to get out of there so All MIght could destroy that guy. Plus, as much as I hate to admit it, it also allows Fenton to go all out."
Izuku replied, "He's right. We would've been in the way. The smart thing to do was leave him to it. Gran Torino and Danny can help him out. Although Danny might get in trouble fighting without a license. We made the right decision. Didn't we?"
Back at the main fight, All For One was still on the ground, mocking All Might, "You have so much in common with Nana Shimura, the utter waste of a human who passed One For All onto you."
All Might retorted, "My master was a true hero. Keep her name out of your filthy mouth."
But All For One kept going, "A woman with no skill, and grand ideas she couldn't live up to. How embarrassing for me, the creator of One For All, to see her inherit the power. And the way she died was so pathetic. Shall I tell you about it?"
"Enough!" All Might shouted as he tried to punch All For One, but the villain charged an attack and blasted All Might into the sky.
He nearly collided with a news helicopter, but Gran Torino grabbed All Might, "It's the same as last time. Toshinori. Calm down! Six years ago, you got distracted and that's how he escaped. And put a hole in your stomach. That's always been your weakness. Don't let him get under your skin."
They landed on the ground and All Might replied, "Yes, sir."
All For One said, "You're in the way."
Suddenly he was blasted away by Phantom, "And you're a crazy fruit loop." He flew over to All Might and Gran Torino.
All Might said, "You shouldn't be here, young Fenton. You don't have your license."
Phantom huffed, "Do you really think I care about that right now? You two need my help. Don't worry, I'll make sure you get the final punch and all the glory. Plus, All Might, you're having a hard time maintaining your hero form."
Gran Torino sighed, "He's just like you, Toshinori. Fine, kid. You can help. But if you get in trouble with the law, don't say I didn't warn you." He then glared at All For One, who was getting up from where Phantom blasted him. "His Quirks and fighting style are completely different than they were. You won't be able to stop him head on. Use your wits. Toshinori, can you still fight? It's do or die! You must go past your limit!"
All Might nodded, "I will."
Gran Torino looked over at Phantom, "What about you, kid. Will you go all out?"
Phantom nodded, "Yes."
Up on the news helicopter, a reporter was having his cameraman record the fight below and he reported, "The scene below's straight out of a nightmare. Half of Camino Ward was demolished in a single, horrific instant. All Might is currently fighting the villain who appears to have caused the blast. I can't believe it. How is one person so powerful? He's destroyed the city and is more than holding his own against the Symbol of Peace."
People were watching the news report and had several opinions about it, ranging from cheering on All Might, to commenting on how All Might looked withered.
All Might coughed blood as All For One said, "I find myself conflicted. Tomura has been the one to chip away at society's trust in heroes, so is it fair that I should land the final blow? You know, All Might, as much as you hate me, I think I probably loathe you more. I killed your master, sure. But you took away so much from me, everything I tried to build. That's why I want you to suffer until your last breath, and die broken and disgraced, for all the world to see."
He charged up his arm, ready to attack.
Gran Torino shouted, "Big one's coming! Dodge and counter!"
Phantom got ready to fight, but he noticed All For One wasn't aiming at the heroes, but at something behind him. All Might noticed it too, and saw a woman in the rubble behind him.
"Not everyone's so fast," All For One said. "I will obliterate everything you've protected."
Gran Torino had launched himself towards All For One, but turned around to warm All Might and Phantom. All Might looked at Phantom and nodded. He jumped in front of the woman while Phantom charged at All For One.
The villain unleashed a powerful wind attack, which All Might blocked and Phantom turned intangible and then punched All For One in the face, knocking him back several feet.
All For One growled, "You're getting in the way, brat. No wonder Tomura hates you so much."
Phantom grinned, "Join the club. You're just a crazy Darth Vader wannabe, no scratch that, you're Emperor Palpatine. You just want to rule over the entire world, just like every other crazy fruit loop. And it's my job to stop crazy fruit loops like you." He then unleashed a massive ice attack, freezing All For One in place.
But the villain quickly broke free and rushed at Phantom, putting a lot of power behind his punch, knocking Phantom back a few feet.
All For One then said, "I don't know what you are. I couldn't steal your Quirk. You intrigue me so. What exactly are you?"
Phantom coughed, "I'm Phantom. Just trying to be a true hero. And I'm here to stop you."
He charged in, but All For One countered, "So predictable." And attacked Phantom, sending him flying. Gran Torino jumped up and grabbed Phantom, bringing him safely to the ground.
All For One looked over at All Might, who was much closer to his normal form than before. "Back to you. First to go will be your self-respect, and ridiculous public image. Show the world how pitiful you really are, Symbol of Peace."
The cameraman focused on All Might, showing the whole world. Everyone was shocked. Izuku was freaking out, as now All Might's secret was out in the open.
All For One chuckled, "Hollow cheeks and sunken eyes. To think you're the greatest hero. Now the adoring public knows your true form. Try not to be ashamed. Your move."
All Might replied, "Even as my body rots and grows frail. Even as you expose my weakened state. In my heart, I remain the Symbol of Peace. And there's nothing you can do to take that from me."
Phantom chuckled next to him, "Yeah, no eyes." Gran Torino shushed him.
All For One said, "Is that so? Ah, well. I'd forgotten how stubborn you are. I guess I'll just give up. Oh! But there is one thing you might be interested to know. Tomura Shigaraki? My apprentice? He's Nana Shimura's grandson."
All Might was shocked, along with Gran Torino. Phantom muttered, "OK, that was a mic drop moment."
All For One continued, "I kept wondering what would annihilate your golden heart. And so I found Tomura. Groomed him to hate you, and watched you smile so proudly as you beat your master's descendant."
Phantom said, "OK, you are seriously one messed up fruit loop."
All For One continued, "Huh. Well, well. That's strange, All Might. Where is your smile now?"
All Might muttered, "You bastard."
All For One laughed, "How very entertaining. I think I've taken a piece of you after all."
All Might said, "He's my master's grandchild. My god, what would she say if she knew how we turned out?" He then screamed in fury.
Phantom heard a woman groan behind him, and it was the same woman. He flew to her and turned her intangible to get her out of the rubble. She then said to All Might, "Don't lose. Keep going, All Might! We need you!"
Phantom quickly created a duplicate and flew the woman to safety. The duplicate saw that the crowd was starting to cheer All Might on. He heard both Izuku and Bakugo shout, "Come on, All Might!"
The duplicate flew back and merged back with Phantom. He then said, "All Might. You heard her. I heard everyone out there. They're cheering for you. You can beat this fruit loop. I know you are on limited power, probably even on the last of it, so gather up all the power you have to beat this creep into the ground. I'll give you time to do so."
Phantom then glared at All For One, who chuckled, "What? You're going to fight me instead of the Symbol of Peace? Figures, since he won't fight me after that revelation."
Phantom raised his glowing green fists, "You have such little faith in him. I'm just the opening act, old man."
He then charged at All For One, who countered, but Phantom saw it coming. He turned intangible, then punched All For One.
They fought back and forth for some time while All Might stared at them fighting. He knew Phantom was right. The world still needed him.
"Fear not," All Might muttered. "I'm not done yet."
All Might then glared at All For One, who was struggling to get up. "You were right. A hero has so much to protect in this world. Which is why I will defeat you!"
All For One managed to float into the air. "There it is. That's the last of your strength, isn't it, All Might? A wounded hero is a most frightening animal. Do you know that even now I sometimes dream of you charging at me with your entrails strewn across the ground. You have what, two or three punches left?"
Phantom floated after him, "We're not done yet, fruit loop."
Suddenly, there was a fire blast that All For One barely dodged. Endeavor came running, "Are you serious? What the hell's going on with that weak little body?!"
Edgeshot stood next to Endeavor, "Looks like we made it just in time. Now, Tsukauchi must've expected this. He feared for his friend's life. But why is that student with the ghost powers here?"
All For One was intrigued, "Those Nomu weren't particularly strong, but I'm still impressed you handled them so quickly. As expected for the man who clawed his way to the number two spot."
He was then punched by Phantom, who muttered, "OK, he's got that fire fruit loop there."
Endeavor growled, "Damn it, All Might! Stand up and show them why you're better! And don't let this brat do all your dirty work!"
Phantom was pissed, "Hey!"
All For One said, "If the only reason you're here is to cheer him on, I'd prefer you to remain silent."
He tried to attack, but Edgeshot charged in first, "Think again, madman. We're here to assist."
Kamui Woods then jumped in and grabbed Best Jeanist and Mt. Lady with his vines. "That's our jobs as heroes!"
All Might muttered, "All of you came."
Tiger came out carrying Ragdoll, "Of course we did. We can't do much, but if we can just help a little, then we have fulfilled our duty."
Phantom added, "That's what being a hero is." He then shot an ecto blast at All For One for good measure."
All Might smiled, "Thank you."
Tiger said, "You have to stop him, All Might. This personification of evil. Pros and citizens everywhere are praying for your victory."
Phantom added, "I did just say that earlier. Dude, no matter what you look like, you're still everyone's number one hero."
All For One charged an attack, "How pointless." He unleashed the attack, but Phantom quickly put up a giant ghost shield around everyone.
All For One clapped, "Very good, ghost child. But let's stop dwelling on heroism and start focusing on reality. Springlike Limbs. Kinetic Booster times four. Strength Enhancer times three. Multiplier. Hypertrophy. Rivets. Air Walk. Spearlike Bones. The shockwaves until now were simply to wear you out, All Might. I knew it would take much more than that to kill you. In order to put you down for good, I'll punch you with the ultimate combination of Quirks I have stored within me right now. This will end you."
His one arm was ready to attack All Might, but he quickly blasted the other heroes, minus All Might and Phantom, away with his other arm. Gran Torino was slightly blasted away.
All For One then glared back at All Might, "I wasn't certain until we exchanged blows tonight. But now I am. One For All no longer dwells within you. What you're attacking me with is just a lingering ghost. The embers that remain from what you've already passed on. And that fire gets weaker every time you use it. Even now, it's a feeble spark about to put itself out. Izuku Midoriya. He's the child you passed One For All on to, isn't he? I bet he came here without your asking. Just like this ghost child. You have no control over him, do you? It sounds as though you'll die full of regrets, All Might. As a hero and a teacher."
All For One charged in at All Might, but then Phantom stood in front of the number one hero and unleashed his Ghostly Wail at the villain, forcing him backwards several yards, hitting the ground hard.
Phantom stopped his attack and knelt to the ground, weakened. He looked back at All Might, "I just bought you some time."
All Might said, "Thank you, Phantom. Let me finish this. Don't waste all your strength. Use what's left to go and find your friends. Don't try to argue with me. You need to fight another day."
Phantom wanted to argue, but knew All Might was right. He then turned invisible and disappeared.
All For One struggled to stand, but was able to charge at All Might, who blocked his attack.
All For One growled, "Impact Recoil!" That forced All Might to be pushed back, but he held firm.
All Might said, "You're right. As their teacher, I should have reprimanded both boys for coming here. I failed. Even though Fenton wouldn't listen anyway. But I still have to make it up to both of them."
All For One replied, "I see. The weak embers inside you are resisting. Trying to rekindle some of your former strength. A desperate attempt to rage against the inevitable, and fulfill your duty. But it's not enough." He put more into the attack, but noticed his arm was starting to get smaller.
All Might noticed this too, "So, Phantom's ultimate attack did weaken you. You're trying to fight the inevitable too. But I'll beat you. Not because I'm a symbol, but because I will do as my master did for me. Until I finish training Young Midoriya, until Young Fenton is ready to become a full on pro hero, until they're both ready, I won't, I refuse to die!" All Might swung his other hand right at All For One's face.
Gran Torino was shocked at what he witnessed. All Might had used his right arm as bait to use his left arm to hit All For One.
But the villain said, "A clever trick. That's so unlike you. Still weak though!" He tried to charge his other arm, but found he couldn't. All Might was right, Phantom's ultimate attack did weaken him.
All Might grinned, "That's because I didn't put my back into it that time!" He remembered his master's words about One For All, and charged up his right arm. "Goodbye, All For One." He punched All For One right in the face. "United States of Smash!" He punched All For One into the ground, causing a massive whirlwind, causing Gran Torino and the nearby news helicopter to blow away.
All Might then thought, "Goodbye, One For All."
All the world was watching on baited breath to see if All Might had won. Phantom flew around and found his friends near the station watching the news. He quietly floated down and landed next to Izuku.
Back at the battlefield, All For One was unconscious on the ground. All Might struggled, but put his fist up into the air, signifying that he won.
The people around the world cheered for All Might's victory.
Phantom transformed back into his normal form as the crowd around him cheered. He then turned visible, "Way to go, All Might."
Izuku heard him and turned to see Danny, "Danny!" He hugged his friend. Bakugo, Shoto, Kirishima, Tenya, and Momo heard this and saw Izuku hugging Danny. Kirishima and Tenya joined in on the hug.
Danny muttered, "OK, guys. Back up a little. I'm OK." The boys got off him, but then Momo rushed over to hug him.
"I'm so glad you're safe," Momo muttered. Danny returned the hug.
Back on the battlefield, All Might was able to return to his hero form, but briefly as he was still weakened.
Edgeshot was nearby, "He shouldn't push himself."
Gran Torino was also nearby, "Let him be. He's still working. This is his last job."
Endeavor looked around for Phantom, but the ghost boy was nowhere to be found.
The people around the world started to cheer All Might's name.
As dawn approached, other heroes appeared to help with the cleanup/rescue of people still trapped. Police arrived and locked up All For One into a secure police transport vehicle. A female reporter was nearby reporting the events. All Might noticed this and pointed to the news camera, causing the reporter to go silent.
At the station, Tenya said, "The trains aren't running. What should we do?"
Kirishima replied, "We just have to be patient. We could go tell the heroes that Bakugo is rescued."
They all turned to find other heroes, but then All Might's voice rang out, "Now." Everyone turned to see on the TV that All Might was pointing right at the camera.
"Now," All Might said. "It's your turn."
The crowd around the students began to cheer. As they thought it was a final warning to all the criminals out there. But Danny and Izuku knew what it really meant. All Might was handing the torch off to them. Danny stood there proudly, honored that All Might viewed him as a worthy hero. But Izuku started to cry, knowing that he was now fully responsible for One For All. Danny saw this and put his arm around Izuku, giving him an encouraging look. Bakugo also noticed Izuku's crying, starting to get some interesting thoughts in his head that would fully escalate later.
