Chapter 17 - Chapter(17)

Episode(17): Boss Fight(3)

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(5)

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The figure of one man and one beast wove through the area throwing strikes that shook the air and caused trees to collapse.

Every step taken by the two intertwined in sync as if they had rehearsed the movement beforehand.

But this wasn't the case at all. This was just a case of both opponents reading each other and reacting in kind.

The silver wolf was aggressive keeping in line with its beastly nature, while Nagisa was calm and composed with every counter strike he threw.

If I had to say, this wolf's explosive power was definitely above my own.

But, our average stats should be the same and my reaction speed and agility is higher.

Analyzing, Nagisa added combo strikes and counters easily offsetting any disadvantages.

The wolf seemed to realize it was getting nowhere and charged forward deciding to end things forcefully.

I also had no need to avoid it and closed the distance with a stomp.

The large wolf fist struck out aiming at me, but with a quick shift crouching then I threw a punch in return.

Boom!

The uppercut connected splendidly with its chin. Disoriented, the wolf staggered from the blow.

Seeing its guard drop, I took advantage striking a heavy blow to its stomach as it muffled a groan and spat blood.

The terrifying force of the punch seemed not to belong to a human being as the wolf saw stars and felt as if its stomach was no longer there.

While it was still stunned, a heel spun striking the side of its face with a bang.

Hmph!

Try beating me in martial arts, I've already mastered all forms!

He sighed glancing at his tattered and bloody shirt, but it hardly mattered.

I've been wearing this since I entered, maybe I can create new equipment like I did with the swords?

As he thought about it, he drew the sword but a yell shook him silly.

[HUUMMAAAN!!!]

!!!

[Woah?!]

It could talk? I mean, considering this is a fantasy world an all, but it's creepy.

But, this didn't matter in the slightest.

[What's up? Don't you wanna 'play' anymore?]

I didn't even wait for a reply. My fist had already struck the wolfs face before it could even react.

The feeling of bones shattering could be felt as its face sunk.

Blasted back, the wolf barely kept its footing with its shaky consciousness wobbling about.

Indeed, with that level of toughness a normal attack wouldn't do much even if I shattered bones.

Hooooww-

As if to psych itself up, the wolf prepared to howl but was met with a solid fist knocking it back down its throat.

[H-Human!]

It was stunned.

[I-Is it not a formality to give a warrior time to recover their spirits through a roar of warriors cry?]

What nonsense?

A dog talking about warrior's spirit? Pfft, could there be a funnier joke?

To begin with, even if the opponent was human, in a life and death battle what the hell was giving time to recover spirit?

Why not tell me to lay down my weapons and stretch my neck to be decapitated.

[Ridiculous!]

At my words the wolf bared its fangs.

[Are you not a warrior?! What kind of attitude is that?!]

I just scratched my ear in boredom.

[Attitude? Dude, do you know that you're a monster trying to kill me?]

Ah, this conversation just felt too stupid.

[I think you misunderstood something]

Contempt was in my eyes looking at the idiot before me.

[Small fry like you, I don't even consider you an opponent! Don't be foolish!]

The words stunned the wolf into silence, but then it roared in an angry laughter.

This time Nagisa didn't bother stopping it from laughing like a third rate villain.

In any case, as I said this guy was a scrub that didn't even get my creative juice flowing.

Mana surged spread out from the wolfs body condensing outwards on its flesh like a pale glow. Even the air trembled at the amount of mana.

Nagisa clapped, but with that annoying smirk how could the wolf not know it was being mocked?

Grrooowwwwl!

With a speed unlike before it darted forward arriving before me in mere seconds.

It threw a punch breaking the sound barrier, however such a slow attack obviously wasn't enough. Watching the punch go by I shifted my head to the side.

Woosh! Woosh!

The strikes swept up gusts of wind as the past by, Nagisa carefully evading each one while tapping his feet.

Heh, who wasn't an opponent? Now all the human could do was run around like a rat.

[Hahahaha! Human scum!]

It had completely gone berserk.

[Hoowwl! Just a cockroach slipping around unable to hit ba-!]

Boom!

A fist struck its face before it could even finish the statement. With its facial bones already shattered, the heavy blow felt excruciatingly painful.

I had enough of analyzing this monster and it was time to end it.

Closing the distance I struck another blow to its stomach.

With a twist, I swung out my leg. The wolf saw the trajectory going towards its head and guarded, but the force that struck its stomach the next second made it realize it had read incorrectly.

The force was too heavy, like a freight train hitting glass it wanted to spill out all its contents.

But I didn't give it time.

With another twist, my heel struck towards the wolfs stomach.

It knew, this could very well be a feint but how could the trajectory of the attack change? Thus the wolf believed its guard could stop the attack even if Nagisa changed it last minute.

What it didn't expect was that the trajectory completely changed and before it knew it, a force struck its chin shaking it down to its knees.

What was this? It made no sense!

But even as the wolf complained in its fuzzy consciousness, A kick landed in its chest blasting it back.

The wolf, its pride destroyed had completely turned into a beast and after rolling sprung to a beastly posture.

'grrr!!'

It had completely lost all reason rushing forward with its claws instead of fists.

But this was better, with that thought I struck a blow at its liver after avoiding the attack.

It wheezed as the force blasted it away, spit trickling down its mouth as it tried to keep conscious and its madness deepening.

Without even regards for its injuries the wolf shot forward again.

Shall we test out the families martial arts then?

Thinking so, the moment the wolf closed the distance it was met with an elbow to the face.

As it swayed, I bent my knees and gathered force from my legs additionally pouring mana into my fist and threw a punch to its stomach.

With a bang, the wolf flew out and I rushed after it.

The wolf dug into the ground after a few crashes then charged at the incoming Nagisa with a claw. But that claw was diverted with a slap and another heavy fist struck.

Seeing this, the other generals also moved to act.

Looks like they can't stand losing anymore huh, I never expected them all to move at once but its doable.

At the same time, I crouched. There was nothing behind me, but as I did a claw passed over head.

When I glanced behind, I could see a wolf emerging from the shadows.

That was dangerous, I didn't know they could do that.

But, its speed and power were average. The only special thing was that it could slip in and out of the shadows.

Still, it was annoying since every time I tried to counter it would just vanish then appear again when I'm busy dealing with another opponent.

But, reacting was easy enough.

Waving my sword, I cut down the ice attacks and streaks of flames shot towards me.

With the wolf generals constantly attacking from close and long range, the shadow wolf slipping in and out of the shadows Nagisa was putting up a decent fight.

But, it was as I thought this that I felt my collar tugged from behind and I was flung through the air.

What just happened?

I was baffled, but the enemy gave me no time to think as the silver wolf in its berserk state leapt high slashing magic slashes through the air with its claws.

Raising my hand, I poured mana into my defense instinctively while believing in the defensive gear I made beforehand.

With a crash and a roll, I leapt to my feet and looked at the defensive gear I made now in tatters with a sigh.

I guess fighting against this many is indeed a bit too much without some cards up my sleeves.

Reluctantly, I once again drew the ice blade. But different from before, my mana poured into it a bone cold shill spread through the area.

Damn.

Blowing frost from my mouth, I knew that I overestimated my abilities a bit.

The silver wolf was already rushing in at a fast speed and struck, but I avoided with a shift of my feet, slashed a deep wound in its chest then struck an elbow at its chest.

Boom!

The wolf flew through the forest crashing through several trees.

I definitely felt bones shatter and organs rupturing, added to that the wound created by the sword would freeze the wolf from the inside out.

Unlike other attacks, this sword was made by me and completely synchronized with my essence thus the cold did nothing to me and even if it did I could probably get used to it quickly.

But it wasn't the same for the others without ice resistance.

I was now surrounded on all fronts and the battle would definitely not be smooth.

But, Nagisa smiled.

[With this, let's just give it our all]
