Chapter 88 - Chapter(82)

Episode(82) Crunch Time! Clear Again!

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(82)

[I Yagar upheld the honor of my tribe!!]

Yagar chattered away in glee feeling that he had finally returned the hateful injuries he had to suffer in this match.

Meanwhile, Nagisa was still bearing pain he had long forgotten.

[Human warriors often take the approach of acting vulnerable to land a powerful strike!]

He, Yagar champion of trolls used to think this was a very disgraceful act as a warrior.

How can you proclaim to have dignity as a warrior yet you squirm and pretend to be weak only to strike while your opponents guard is down!?

This was like taking a knockout punch and then using the chance your opponent wasn't paying attention to give them a nice kick to the family jewels!

Hmph! Very disgraceful!

But, not until he did it himself that Yagar felt it was very exhilarating!

Making the opponent feel as if they had won, only to strike at the moment their guard was down!

Nothing could beat the excitement!

Aughhh!

Damn it! Damn! Damn! Damn!

It hurt!

It hurt so much even now it felt like there were still tiny blades hidden in his flesh trying to tear open the wounds that were already carved deep in his flesh.

The long forgotten pain of being so severely wounded caused a momentary lapse preventing Nagisa from completely controlling his body.

He glared at Yagar, killing intent leaking from his entire being.

Hm?

Seemingly sensing the gaze, Yagar turned and grinned.

[Human, you must be curious as to what happened just now]

Indeed, Nagisa was curious.

But as time passed and he sensed the fluctuation of magic in the air not to mention the lingering aura surrounding the wounds on his body, Nagisa could already guess what had happened just now.

[Fine, since thee have entertained the great Yagar I shall enlighten thee]

There was no way the human could overcome this skill of his in any case so Yagar was not worried in the slightest.

As for villains talking too much and having the script flipped, it didn't even know such a concept.

[The second ability available to me after my nirvana is one that grants me toughness by siphoning a portion of the opponents mana getting used to their attacks bit by bit]

Of course this did not mean once the opponents mana was read their attacks could be defended against easily, such a skill would have long made Yagar invincible.

Why would he have ended up a monster in a dungeon if that was the case.

[Instead, once an opponents mana has been analyzed, not only does my defense against said individual increase-]

[You can return their attacks, right?]

Nagisa finished his words with quiet killing intent.

Yagar seemed stunned, but considering all that happened it didn't seem too confusing that the human figured it out.

Rather if such an exceptional individual didn't figure it out he might be offended thinking he was fighting an idiot all this time.

Tch!

Nagisa clicked his tongue.

Seriously, who gave a dungeon monster such a cheat ability. Don't tell me this dungeon was seriously set up so no one could pass it?

There must be a trick to it.

If it was simple reflection, then even my shadow pierce and tidal force would have been returned and even with my current physical defense I would definitely have lost an arm.

Yet, only a shockwave was returned.

So, it's not attack reflection just a return of impact force?

Something like the boss monster of the wolf region, it only returns the force of each attack not the actual attack.

And judging by how I only have a few lacerations here and there, it must not fully return the full percent of attacks.

No, perhaps the percentage is divided into defense and reflection?

So that's why I felt my mana draining before. It was reading my magic flow.

Phew, what to do?

Even if I know all this it's not like it changes anything?

No, that's not right. Knowing this means I can infer weaknesses.

Yes, the fact that it can only reflect a portion of my attacks and not the actual attack or its force means I'll be fine as long as I take my defense seriously.

And then, the fact that it only used the attack now.

Wait-

Though Yagar said it was because his magic power analysis had just been completed, the fact that his defense was still in effect meant that even without completely reading my mana it could still reflect attacks.

Then why?

Two conclusions can be drawn.

One, without completely analyzing my mana the reflecting power would be significantly weaker.

Two, and this was likely to be true.

Kanata looked at Yagar.

[You've got a cooldown duration for using your skill?]

!!!!

[Oh! Am I right?]

What am I? Detective Conan?

A smile hung on Nagisa's face. If this was indeed true then it changed the game!

Nagisa stood up slowly, the wounds on his body visibly vanishing as if they weren't even there.

[Thanks to your last attack my reluctance kicked in-]

It was now crunch time.

[Too bad you didn't off me with that last attack huh]

Impossible! Yagar was baffled.

How did he figure out my weakness?

No, forget that.

[How can thou even move after taking that attack!]

The amount of force reflected was enough to kill even himself. Just what kind of incomprehensible monster was this!

This couldn't be a truly flesh and blood human!

Nagisa shook his head.

[That's a stupid question, why would my own attack kill me?]

[What!...]

Not to mention the fact that Nagisa possessed the unique skill, Master. A talent that granted him an instantaneous adaptation ability no matter the situation.

Whether it was an opponents attack or his own, analyzing the attack and neutralizing most of the damage was a cinch.

And this was even without considering the fact that he was already wary against the loss of his mana and didn't really go all out even just now.

Well, there was no need to yap about it to an opponent right?

[I'll at least congratulate you for making reluctant consider the last blow a killing one, even if it was my own attack]

Nagisa chuckled mockingly.

Yes, Reluctant didn't only work when he was dying. Anything considered a killing blow would activate its effects.

Thus, at the moment Nagisa was basically an unkillable freak.

Heh!

[I promised you a grand finale]

Knees bending, he prepared to move.

[Don't blink, you might miss it!]

Shu!

Boom!

His figure vanished, the next second a loud crash echoed and a spiderweb like crack spread at Yagar's feet as a punch met his jaw shifting his balance.

??

What was this sudden increase in power and speed?

Yagar momentarily felt his mind go blank. But after the instant passed it was filled with rage.

[Raaah!!]

Before he could even look for the opponent to strike, an uppercut came from below directly shutting his mouth.

No! This cannot happen!

Yagar gritted its teeth disregarding everything and forcibly threw a punch with its unstable posture.

Woosh!

But, Nagisa vanished appearing before his eyes and drew hopeless in an arc.

Pfft!

Blood spurted like rain.

[Graah!]

Eyes! My eyes!

Nagisa's sword sliced through its eyes leaving behind a trail of frost ensuring his eyes wouldn't heal too easily.

Kh!

Yagar grabbed its face trying to peel of the ice but it was futile.

The cold had seeped deep into its eyes and unless it was prepared to pluck out its eyes there was no way it could see by the end of this fight.

[Kaah! Augghhhh! My Great eyes!]

Darkness was all it could now see.

As it wallowed on the floor, footsteps echoed slowly and Nagisa calmly walked over to Yagar.

[It's a pity, playing with you was fun but now it's over!]

!!

Anger surged in Yagar's heart.

[Huuummmaaaannn! I AM THE TROLL LORD!]

Shaking his head, Nagisa chuckled.

[Not any more you ain't!]

That's it. I'm done playing, time to end this.

A crisp metallic sound rang in the air as Nightfall was drawn from it's sheath.

The sound for Yagar was like the scythe of the god of death being drawn from the underworld.

Fuu!

Releasing a breath, mana surged around Nagisa. But, instead of the usually violent clashing storm of magic power.

The scene was calm, still and quite eerie as it converged into the black sword causing an aura of darkness to surround Nagisa.

It's my first time trying this out, but-

[Twilight]

In that moment, darkness descended.

The already dark dungeon had completely been covered in a black curtain. Even the lights of the torches and the magic ores were snuffed out.

It was chilling and eerie.

Cold deathly winds blew, brushing against a mans skin it would make them shiver in fear as this was no normal wind.

But, as the Ruler of Death Nagisa felt at ease, rather he felt even more at ease than usual. The buff provided through the sword and darkness made him feel invincible at this moment.

In darkness, both his swords power and himself were amplified.

It was a pity for hopeless, but this sword was the one that truly matched his abilities to the fullest extent.

Engrossed in this state, Nagisa completely forgot about Yagar and raised his sword.

He didn't know why he was swinging or what he was swinging against, he just swung down the sword in the darkness.

No extra effects, no grand spectacle. Just a normal swing of the sword.

But, when the darkness receded and Nagisa's finally came back to his senses, Yagar lay on the ground. Half his body was missing and a deep ravine ran across the ground.

This guy was beyond saving.

Nagisa walked over and stomped on his head.

[So, how was it? Was it grand enough for you?]

The words were arrogant and deserving of a slap.

Yet, Yagar laughed.

[Haha, strong...human. Glad....send off...champions.....pride...preserved]

Hah, trying to look cool?

Well, you were definitely one of my most challenging opponents so feel honored.

[Then farewell, champ]

May we never meet again.

[....]

Nagisa severed its neck. As for Yagar returning?

Nonsense, Twilight completely nullified any such skills used while inside its domain.

Meaning, this boss was truly dead.

Sure enough, what came next was the fanfare Nagisa had been expecting long ago.

40th floor, Clear!
