Mei Mengzhen actually had a point—she earned her own tuition, didn't ask others for it, and now someone is suddenly interrupting her chance to earn it by asking her to care for them. If Auntie covered the tuition, or treated it as working wages for that period, it wouldn't be unreasonable.
But Jiang Xiumei instantly got angry when she heard this. "Oh, what's wrong with you, child? Are you so obsessed with money now? You want money for taking care of your Auntie?"
