After dinner, everyone went home. Only Mei Mengzhen and her brother, along with Wang Qiuhe, were left at home. Mei Mengzhen was feeling rather lonely; the house lacked its usual noise and bustle. She sat lazily on the sofa, watching TV. She hadn't been sitting long when Wang Qiuhe, freshly washed up, came over and sat next to her, looking curious as she started asking, "Zhenzhen, can I ask you something?"
Mei Mengzhen glanced at her. To be honest, Wang Qiuhe was a bit more pleasant to look at than when she first arrived, but people's true nature is hard to change; no matter how much she changes, if you're not careful, all those annoying traits pop right back out. That off-putting appearance really rubbed Mei Mengzhen the wrong way. Besides, she didn't think anything good ever came out of Wang Qiuhe's mouth, so she didn't want to bother with her. But Wang Qiuhe kept pestering her, so she just replied, "Go ahead, but I might not know the answer."
