The next morning, Mei Mengchen was picked up by Fan Tianyu. He didn't care what time his classes were, or what time they'd arranged to meet—he just took him away and called it a day.
Mei Mengzhen couldn't be bothered to say anything about him. As soon as her brother left, she started busying herself. After she finished getting ready, it was still early, so she called Pei Ziyu. Pei Ziyu answered almost immediately, "Hey, Zhenzhen, you're up early."
"Yeah, Brother Tianyu came early and woke me up, so I didn't go back to sleep. Are you up yet?"
Pei Ziyu said, "I'm waiting for the elevator, about to head downstairs. If you're up, I can come over now. Should I bring breakfast up?"
"No need, I've got everything at home. I'll make something, it'll be tastier than eating out."
After hanging up, Mei Mengzhen got to work. She steamed some food that they both liked, and then cooked dumpling soup. By the time it was ready, Pei Ziyu was already knocking at her door.
