Picking tea really isn't that hard—you just strap the basket on your back, put on a straw hat and towel, and then it's time to be taught the picking action. The biggest no-no is pinching the tip of the tea leaf with your fingernails and breaking it off. You've got to use your thumb to pick, so the tea leaves don't get damaged. That's the proper way to pick tea.
Chen Zhi and Yue Xue aren't stupid. The Tea Garden manager explained it once and they got it. But those giant baskets strapped on their backs were a bit intimidating for them. Yue Xue asked, "Master, you're not expecting us to fill the whole basket, are you?"
The master said, "No, you don't have to."
But how long they'd be picking tea was decided by the show: "It's 12 o'clock now. Tea picking time is until 2pm. After checking your tea leaves, you'll get your lunch."
After that, the crew rushed them to get on the Tea Garden's shuttle bus.
