Leon's POV
The darkness hanging over the horizon of the Demon Continent was honestly unlike anything I had ever seen before.
It wasn't just nighttime darkness. It wasn't the kind of darkness you experienced when the sun went down and people lit lanterns outside their homes before calling it a day. This felt different. Heavier. Almost unnatural.
The sky itself seemed to swallow whatever light existed around it.
If someone dropped me in the middle of this place without any light source, I probably would've believed I had gone blind. It was that dark. The kind of darkness where your eyes kept trying to adjust, only to realize there wasn't much to adjust to in the first place.
Even though I had traveled through plenty of dangerous places before, the atmosphere here still managed to feel unsettling.
Right now, I was trying to figure out what exactly was happening in the town I had arrived in.
Calling it a town felt a little generous, honestly.
The place looked abandoned.
