"M-More importantly than that, Master... why did you suddenly ask me where Luna is?" she asked hesitantly, sounding genuinely curious about what had brought the topic up so unexpectedly.
"Well, since both of you are witches, I just figured the two of you probably know each other," I replied without thinking too much about it.
Honestly, I had absolutely no idea what kind of mental gymnastics I would have needed to perform just to figure out what sort of relationship they actually shared with one another. Asking her directly seemed like a much better option than making up theories in my own head and hoping one of them somehow turned out to be right.
"I-I see..."
Her quiet response came with an awkward little nod that did absolutely nothing to hide how uncomfortable she suddenly looked.
She definitely looked a little suspicious from the way her expression immediately changed.
Something about her reaction made it feel like she was trying very hard to hide something from me.
