Chapter 130 - Gambling Ren's life.

Tyran locked eyes with Ren as Ramses raced around his bed chamber and his gaze lingered.

His intense stare was weighted with unanswered questions and unspoken words impatiently waiting to erupt from him.

The servant had exit the room while Ramses chased his new found pet around, his joyful giggles mingled with the faint barking sound the pup made as the duo eyed each other.

Send him back,he told Ren via telepathy but Ren immediately shut him out of his head, blocking his telepathic link, his brows twitching with irritation.

Tyran knew how much he hated an intruder being in his head, this was the second time and he was right Infront of him to begin with.

The general however clicked his fingers, both Ramses and the dog vanished leaving a silent atmosphere with the soft whistling noise of the wind the only sound daring to exist.

Ren's gaze had dropped to the ground as he patiently awaited the emperor to speak but the silence hovered around them instead.

And after what seemed like forever Tyran's lips moved to utter his name.

"Ren... would you die for me?"

A sudden gust of wind burst through the open windows as the general turned towards Tyran,it swept across the room carrying the scent of distant dust and rain,

the scarlet locs of hair on his face fluttering and dancing over his eyes rentlessly as he stared up ahead.

"Yes!"those words came out without thought or reason, unhurried, almost like a faint whisper,he hadn't planned it but it had forced its way out as though he had released a part of him he didn't know had been sealed away for a long time, his love for the imperial family no Tyran in particular and somehow that cursed person of a prince, deep down he knew he meant every bit of it.

"Exchange blood Transfusion, the Pinnacle of blood manipulation magic, can you pull it through?".

"What are you plotting?"Ren spoke softly unlike his usual self, his features had softened as well, his gaze laden with concern.

"A servant Dark adopted works here in the imperial palace and is related to the imperial kitchen yet he had let her go because he probably made a deal with her.And what deal could one as mighty as he make with a lowly servant who works in a kitchen?..."Tyran paused to clasp his hand infront of him,his gaze intense as ever"Poisoning...most likely the crown prince".

He abruptly got to his feet with an arm placed under his jaw and the other behind his back.

"I don't know when and how he plans to do this but knowing Dark's style he loves to put on a public show,a public fuss therefore my best guess would be on the imperial prince's birthday where tons people would gather, using the celebration as a diversion,he could easily show up here...To guarantee the prince's safety before then i have secretly changed the source of raw materials for his meal but the former supply will proceed as usual so as not to alert them".

Ren had been listening patiently but he knew where Tyran was getting at,he knew how dangerous what he was planning was not just for him but also the imperial prince.

"Dark would't use just any poison that can be easily extracted,he will use something potent, deadly and uncommon that even the healers would be unable to extract before it kills its victim...and knowing the prince is unable to detoxify and purify his blood, some thing that kills even quicker than a viper's venom but that's where you come in".

Ren sighed.

Exchange Transfusion allows the caster to drain the blood from every cell in his victim, exchanging it with the same quantity with his.In less than half a second it is absorbed, before his cells seeps it in,he exchanges the entire blood of the prince with his blood in an instant which he would detoxify.

A dangerous ancient blood technique that existed only in scripts, forged and written by wise sorcerers of ancient times but no one dared to attempt it,not even it's creators.

Ren had read about it centuries ago and memorized the spell but such books no longer existed in the imperial library.

Since the emperor was also one of the rare blood technique users in existence he assumed Tyran had done his research in the hidden imperial archives at sorcerer tower.

The last thing Ren thought the emperor would do was toying with his son's life.

In the worst case scenario if the technique failed Tyran would loose both the crown prince and it's caster. If he was a split second late the prince's organs would take the impact. He could also transfuse his blood and not get any back in return then he would die from blood shortage. He had lived for centuries but unlike the imperial crown prince he wasnt immortal,a spell like that was the same as stabbing a knife in his chest.

"Too risky".he muttered before looking away.

Tyran could sense his concern for the imperial prince but this wasn't something he was backing away from.

"I intend to test the fates to see if I have made the right decision keeping him alive,if he would love,he would live if he would die he would die and so will I".

"Urrrrrrrggggggggaaahhh!!"

Ren pounced on him grabbing both sides of his cloak in anger,he shut his eyes as the grip tightened on his cloak,he could smell the general's rage from up close as he grunted in his face.

"You know better than anyone I can't leave with the guilt of killing my own son".

"You're insane!"Ren yelled in his face, exposing a sharp set of canines, his eyes beaming with piercing furry.

Tyran reopened his eyes, his stern gaze steady as ever.

"I always knew you were stupid but not this stupid, how dare you endanger your life and that of your seed for such trivial a matter!—"

"Because I trust you won't fail...I implore you to take this as a request as from a friend not an order...knowing you won't take such order"

Ren forcefully let go of his cloak, causing him to stagger backwards before backing him.

"At what end?"

"Revenge".

"If so then let me have your revenge for you,let my claws soak in their blood!".

"Then who are they whose blood your claws would soak...where the corpses are that is where the vultures gather, this is the only way I can pull them out"

Ren eyed him over his shoulders quietly, what would Tyran do if he told him he knew these people he was risking his son's life to fish out, what if he told him he was once one of them, would Tyran ever forgive him?....If he had gotten rid of them earlier or exposed them the Emperor would never risk the life his son to do so".

Ren turned away and bit his lips till they bleed he stopped when he noticed his eyes were wet,was he,was he crying?....he touched his eyes and stared at the liquid.

Something was happening to him,as a result of his creation from the ill emotions in existence and corpses of dead Semonios from centuries past he was born with only ill emotions, like anger, hatred and spite,he was born into existence without such just feelings, what had suddenly gotten to him, this bitter-sweet feeling was this what they call sadness, compassion and regret?

How come it felt so good and bad at the same time?

Eversince he met the imperial prince something about him had changed, was he being influenced by the prince's Aura of purity or being drawn to it... Now that he thought of it,his attraction towards the emperor was supposed to be one of loyalty but it was something deeper now,and what about the imperial prince....is that lo...love?

Why does matters concerning the emperor appear to enrage him.

Whichever it was, how come he felt so good about these awkward ill sensation they call feelings, how come he felt so good tearing up like a weakling, how could he let himself stoop so low, these feelings, whatever they were he won't accept them.

Ren made the tears dry up and balled up a tight fist.

"Do what you want"he muttered.

"I would do it myself but your magic level far surpasses mine only you can guarantee it's success General...Exchange Transfusion will leave the reciever unconscious for a day, Dark will never accept the prince is dead till he sees his corpse and that's where Carolene comes in to make a deal to hand over the prince's body....I expect the flies to gather around sour meat and that is where we take them down".

"I will do as you ask"

Ren's tone had become carefree, one devoid of concern but it didn't change anything, those feelings were embedded within him where he could not reach them as a result,he must succeed at no cost but his own life.

"I trust you..."Tyran called his name in his most gentle tone."Ren!"

Those words struck a part of his heart but Ren didn't answer for a moment,he back him as Tyran's voice resounded in his head.

I won't fail...Ren told himself but didn't voice the words out,

I never did.
