Chapter 1 - Awaken

The 45th Era, Year 211, November 9th, late at night at 10:40 PM.

Japan, Tokyo, Arakawa Ward.

Ever since it was first developed 577 years ago, its overall environment had pretty much remained a relatively ordinary working-class district.

Affordable housing, relatively average public safety, mediocre economy, and even the residents themselves were just ordinary folks, rarely producing anything remotely resembling nobility or elite authority.

In short.

It was practically a major hub for ordinary 9-to-5 workers.

The biggest perk was that transportation was relatively convenient.

No matter which bustling downtown area one needed to commute to, it wasn't considered too far.

Furthermore, coming home late at night, one didn't have to worry too much about getting mugged at knifepoint along the way.

Right at this moment.

Under the illumination of the moonlight.

Inside a rather old and cheap-looking apartment building.

A young man, looking roughly sixteen or seventeen years old, was meticulously reviewing his personal diary.

He was dressed very plainly.

His black trousers clearly looked like cheap convenience store goods.

The yellowish top he wore was even somewhat faded from countless washes.

His overall outfit could essentially be summed up in two words: destitute.

Yet, none of this detracted from his outward appearance; possessing an extraordinarily handsome face, even dressed in poverty, he still looked striking.

At this moment.

As he looked somewhat contentedly at the diary before him, earnestly appreciating its deeply sincere contents.

In a flash.

He couldn't help but nod vigorously right then and there.

"Very good, extremely healthy."

"Not only do I harbor grand ambitions!"

"Just imagining it gets me a little excited..."

[ Nishigami Yari ].

This was his name in this lifetime.

As a [ Reincarnator ].

One sudden day in his previous life, while walking down the street, Nishigami Yari had abruptly felt a sense of the world collapsing around him, and then everything went black.

Following that.

By the time he fully regained consciousness, he had already been living here for about a decade.

Living under the identity of an abandoned orphan from childhood.

Furthermore, he was the kind of person whose brain wasn't entirely right, occasionally blurting out some delirious nonsense that outsiders couldn't understand.

In this regard.

The moment he completely woke up, or rather, awakened his past-life wisdom, understood his past life, and broke through the cognitive barrier, was precisely today.

It was... a truly marvelous sensation.

In the morning.

After waking up.

He already felt as if he had understood something.

Yet he was still somewhat dazed.

Instinctively grasping only some profound, arcane truths.

And as time passed, right up until the evening hours.

He finally came to comprehend the entirety of both his past and present lives.

His brain, which had remained somewhat blank and spaced-out year-round, suddenly became clearer than ever before.

At the same time.

He could also distinctly sense the difference within himself.

Half a month ago, a certain trait had begun to gradually manifest on his body, emerging at an extremely rapid pace.

At a speed far surpassing ordinary comprehension...

That was a trait known in this world as an [ Awakened ], a [ Chosen One ], a [ Born Aristocrat ]...

A trait belonging to a superhuman.

As for Nishigami Yari.

Back in his past life, perhaps that original world did possess some kind of supernatural power.

But he had never come into contact with it, nor had he ever clearly heard of it.

At most, there were only some fabricated rumors and legends.

Yet in this lifetime.

The existence of supernatural power was, without a doubt, an overwhelmingly clear and undeniable fact!

Right from the earliest recorded history of mankind, it had been explicitly documented and revered as a divine might that ordinary mortals could never defy.

Moreover, this power, commonly referred to in the modern era as that of an [ Awakener ], was by no means a secret.

Throughout history, it had profoundly and utterly influenced the entire course of human civilization's progress.

Including, but not limited to, both leading human civilization forward and destroying it entirely.

Speaking of how historical records were structured in this world.

The so-called [ Era ].

That unit of history placed above [ Year ], [ Month ], and [ Day ].

Actually referred to the occurrence of some colossal upheaval in the past.

A massive upheaval profound enough to impact the entire trajectory of human civilization!

Every time humanity survived such a colossal upheaval.

The historical era-name would transition into the next [ Era ] by the following year.

And that kind of massive upheaval generally boiled down to a single event.

A global catastrophe engulfing people worldwide, a super-scale war, the [ World War ].

Consequently.

As of the [ 45th Era ] where Nishigami Yari currently resided.

The entire world had already witnessed at least 45 man-made upheavals on the scale of a World War.

At the very least!!

According to what Nishigami Yari knew.

Various historical records vaguely hinted that in an even more distant past, there actually existed a vastly longer history, an era so remote it was referred to as hyper-ancient history.

And the dividing line separating that sketchy, hyper-ancient history and recorded history, which marked the very beginning of the [ 1st Era ], was a catastrophic event that almost completely severed the historical lineage of human civilization.

The [ Sinking of the Atlantis Continent, the Cradle of Human Civilization ]!

From the various textbooks Nishigami Yari studied in this lifetime, the recorded myths and legends all described the [ Atlantis Continent ] as the wealthiest and most colossal landmass on the entire planet, shining like a brilliant pearl among the seven continents of that era.

Its sinking not only led to the destruction of the vast majority of hyper-ancient human civilization and a catastrophic technological regression, leaving only a fortunate few who escaped death to migrate to distant continents.

It also triggered global climatic feedback and environmental shifts.

Such as rising sea levels and successive storms, allowing the furious oceanic floods to swallow massive swathes of land across the remaining six continents.

Even so.

Presently, the total surface area of land on this world's Earth still spanned approximately 3.5 billion square kilometers.

More than twenty times larger than his previous life.

And these landmasses merely accounted for a mere 17 percent of this planet's total surface area.

Even with a global modern population exceeding 40 billion living upon them, vast amounts of undeveloped and unexplored regions remained, completely sufficient to accommodate even more people.

Thus, one could faintly imagine just how colossal [ Atlantis ] must have been back then as the largest continent on the entire globe!

As for how [ Atlantis ] actually sank?

That brought us back to the fundamental question...

In what manner did the Awakeners influence the trajectory of human history?

Rumor had it that [ Atlantis ] was beaten and sunk by a cabal of Awakeners, falling under that extreme category of influence where the manifestation was violently aggressive, and the consequences were profoundly destructive...

The sinking of the [ Atlantis Continent ].

For the entirety of human civilization, it not only caused a catastrophe of epic proportions, triggering a massive fragmentation of knowledge and a drastic population collapse...

It also symbolized human civilization stepping out of hyper-ancient history, opening the chapter of ancient history, the [ 1st Era ].

Furthermore, throughout this entire process, the impact wrought by the Awakeners continued unabated.

Over the countless years of the subsequent [ Eras ].

Within the historical progression of those total [ Forty-five Eras ], roughly [ Thirty-eight Eras ] were entirely new chapters of history unfurled by massive upheavals caused by individual Awakeners.

Logically speaking, Awakeners had instigated at least thirty-eight World War-tier colossal upheavals...

And by the way.

The remaining seven times, when traced back to their root causes, were still inextricably linked to Awakeners...

To this day.

Even excluding unverified events like the submerged [ Atlantis Continent ].

The clearly recorded battle feats of Awakeners included piercing through continental shelves, creating super-tsunamis, establishing a global Grand Unified Empire, physically flying beyond the planet's atmosphere to explore the starry skies, and slaughtering over a hundred billion ancient humans to destroy a fallen civilization, thereby triggering a massive technological regression...

Across every era, they served as [ Aristocrats ], [ Leaders ], [ Deities ], [ Rulers ], [ Destroyers ]...

Therefore.

Precisely because of this.

Their immense power and dominance were simply impossible to conceal.

Even ordinary people, when looking up at the night sky over five million kilometers away at the moon, could faintly perceive various slash marks marring its surface.

Those slash marks, or rather massive fissures, were the lingering traces left behind by certain Awakeners when turning the page to a brand-new chapter of history.

Throughout the hundred thousand years of recorded human history in this world.

Awakeners had always occupied the absolute apex of human hierarchy!

Even in the modern era, it remained largely the same.

It was just that due to various ideological shifts, the disparity in status was no longer as drastically polarized or blatantly overt as it once was.

Precisely for this reason.

When Nishigami Yari gradually awakened his own power half a month ago.

He understood clearly that once things were confirmed.

Even if he were merely an Awakener of the lowest tier of potential, it would still be more than enough for him to realize his own ambitions.

Beyond that.

During this past half-month.

As his traits progressively awakened, the memories of his current and past lives constantly overlapped and complemented each other, culminating today in the complete awakening of his past-life wisdom.

For the past ten-odd years prior to this.

Because memories from his past life were chaotic and bled into his mind in this lifetime.

He would occasionally find scenes from his past life flashing before his eyes.

Or perhaps catch himself blurting out a few phrases in the language of his past life.

Against the macro-environment of this world, those phrases originating from his past life undoubtedly sounded somewhat disjointed and bizarre.

Take English, for instance.

The English of his past life bore a massive difference from the English of this world.

One could only say the letters were mostly the same, but once formed into sentences, they had nothing to do with each other.

Hence, Nishigami Yari's habit of occasionally blurting out phrases in his past-life language very easily led people to think that the kid was talking nonsense, and the kind of nonsense whose meaning ordinary people couldn't comprehend at all.

Coupled with the fact that at times, for no apparent reason, he would see and hear numerous hallucinations.

Walking on flat ground yet seeing himself as walking down a flight of stairs.

Walking down the street yet hearing BGM straight out of the animal kingdom...

All sorts of these abnormal conditions directly branded him in the eyes of many as someone who, despite his stunning looks, clearly had a screw loose.

Even the director of the orphanage who had taken him in could only shake her head and sigh.

Exclaiming that if not for his sporadic mental instability, Nishigami Yari would have long since been adopted.

As a side note.

His name, Nishigami Yari, actually had a very simple origin. The director of the orphanage had found him near the shrine to the west of her home. Furthermore, seeing that he looked like a flawless, exquisitely carved jade doll yet had been inexplicably abandoned, making him truly pitiful, the director simply bestowed upon him the name [ Nishigami Yari ], a name that sounded somewhat feminine yet could still be used by males, and carried a meaning that was very concise and straightforward.

Of course...

Later on, as Nishigami Yari gradually grew up and displayed his occasionally unhinged words and actions, the director had a sudden realization, figuring out why he had been abandoned in the first place.

She surmised that his parents must have detected his brain abnormalities right at birth...

Even Nishigami Yari himself used to think that way.

Which more or less gave him a slight sense of inferiority, causing him to constantly reject adoption.

Regarding this matter.

Now, aside from spitting out a "Damn it!", Nishigami Yari really had nothing else to say.

At this moment.

Having straightened out his thoughts.

Nishigami Yari closed his diary.

Then, with a casual pull.

Dozens of thick pages were ripped straight out, folded over and over again, torn back and forth...

Before long, he ruthlessly shredded them into tiny fragments, casually tossing them into the trash bin nearby.

After all, what kind of decent person would actually keep a diary?

No one, absolutely no one.

Having finished this little gesture.

He clenched his fists tightly.

And couldn't help but sigh with emotion:

"Honestly... I must have several tons of strength by now, right...?"

Tear apart dozens of pages of a diary bare-handed, an ordinary person from his past life could actually pull that off.

However, tearing them into halves, quarters, eighths, sixteenths... stacking them together, and still ripping through the thick bundle as effortlessly as a single sheet of paper, that completely exceeded the scope of what an ordinary human could achieve.

With that said.

He cast his gaze toward the desk in front of him.

An old, battered wooden desk roughly 5 centimeters thick.

This was one of the complimentary furnishings included in his cheap rented apartment.

He pressed his left hand flat against the surface of the desk, his 5 fingers exerting a slight amount of force.

Amidst a soft CRACKING sound.

His slender 5 fingers left distinct impressions right on the tabletop.

As if it had been struck or bludgeoned by someone using a tool.

Furthermore, as Nishigami Yari continuously increased his strength, his fingers kept sinking further downward, causing the desktop to suffer continuous damage.

In the end.

Without expending any real effort, Nishigami Yari clawed a chunk of wood straight out of the solid wooden table with his bare hands, gripping it tightly in his palm.

Leaving the entire desk with a direct, bored-through hole.

Moreover, he felt a certain sensation deep within his heart.

That was, as long as he was willing, he could effortlessly punch straight through the walls of his apartment...

Thinking of this.

He extended his other hand and brought it together with the palm holding the desk debris, trapping the wood fragments and splinters right in the middle.

Then, his left and right hands began to rapidly rub against each other.

2 seconds later.

Amidst the high-speed friction.

Thick smoke began to billow from the wood fragments that were being repeatedly rubbed by his palms.

As Nishigami Yari unclasped his hands.

Before long.

A flame began to slowly rise from amidst the wood chips.

Right in the palm of his hand.

Yet he didn't feel any burning sensation whatsoever.

Even his skin remained entirely free of any injury.

Witnessing this scene.

Nishigami Yari's face, illuminated by the flickering firelight, immediately broke into a smile.

'Having just awakened, my strength, speed, and defense all completely surpass those of ordinary mortals...'

'Truly not bad at all...'

As someone who was entirely on his own in his past life.

Right now, he already harbored exceptionally rich expectations for his future life in this lifetime.

With a casual squeeze.

Holding the burning wood fragments in his hand after extinguishing the flame.

Having briefly tested his current strength, Nishigami Yari quickly felt a faint sense of doubt and curiosity slowly rising within his heart.

'I wonder what tier of potential I belong to among Awakeners...'

Although the existence of Awakeners had long been familiar to ordinary people.

Detailed and specific intelligence still remained a secret that ordinary folks couldn't casually touch upon.

For ordinary people, only relatively shallow and popularized information was ever widely circulated.

For instance, Awakeners were categorized into several entirely different tiers of strength, which naturally meant that the strength and potential among Awakeners were distinctly stratified.

Among them, the lowest tier of Awakeners was referred to as the [ Nascent Awakening Stage ].

The literal meaning was simply that they had just begun to awaken, akin to the stage of a newly born infant.

Next was the [ Mature Stage ].

Signifying that the Awakeners' various bodily functions had fully awakened, much like a normally developed adult...

Furthermore.

Nishigami Yari had not yet fully tested the exact limits of his own power.

Therefore.

Lacking complete intelligence or any comparable targets to benchmark against, he couldn't help but feel a bit curious about just what level his aptitude actually ranked among Awakeners.

Moreover, he was also somewhat curious about what high-tier Awakeners were really like.

However.

Come to think of it.

His aptitude among Awakeners surely wouldn't be too terrible...

Because based on what he knew, low-tier Awakeners still belonged to the category where contemporary modern weaponry could inflict effective damage upon them.

And judging by his current state, having just awakened.

Once he fully completed his awakening.

He probably wouldn't fall too far behind.

By then.

Aside from those high-yield strategic toys, he should be able to shrug off or evade all sorts of conventional weaponry.

In his view.

If his aptitude turned out to be exceptional.

Then in this lifetime, he would basically have secured a genius-tier protagonist script.

Later on, he could completely let loose, or even figure out a way to establish his own faction and reign supreme over a territory.

After all.

Many of his predecessors had single-handedly orchestrated dozens of World Wars.

With his own stellar aptitude, safely farming in obscurity until he grew strong enough to carve out a domain where he could run amok completely unchecked, thinking about it, that was a perfectly reasonable trajectory, and nothing too outlandish at all.

If his aptitude happened to be mediocre or relatively poor...

Then reigning supreme would obviously become a bit difficult.

Finding some deep mountain seclusion to hole up and play king of the hill was certainly an option.

Though completely unnecessary.

Instead of wasting free time trying to break through a hard-capped ceiling.

He might as well leverage his identity as an Awakener, coupled with his favorable background conditions and striking outward appearance, to latch onto some powerful regional faction and live a comfortable, freeloader lifestyle.

For instance, simply becoming a kept-man son-in-law in some major conglomerate, wouldn't that just be wonderful?

After all, the status of an Awakener was an exceptionally useful tool!

Merely registering with the government right after awakening would grant an unconditional monthly state subsidy equivalent to thirty times the average national salary.

And if he were to sign up to work for a major faction, an even greater array of high salaries and generous allowances would be waiting for him.

They'd be gifting cars and houses within minutes!

Take Nishigami Yari right now.

Putting everything else aside.

Even if he made the absolute dumbest, most foolish choice and went to lay bricks, his output would easily match that of dozens of men.

Calculated based on Japan's average worker's salary of 250,000 yen.

That already amounted to a starting annual salary of over 10 million yen.

Moreover, many ancient noble families historically harbored the tradition of recruiting Awakeners into their own factions to optimize their bloodlines...

Given this situation.

Nishigami Yari's background as an orphan was simply the embodiment of a heaven-sent chosen son in the eyes of those major families!!

A spotless lineage that could be thoroughly investigated with zero baggage!

Pull him over, and he'd instantly become one of your own people!!

This complete package configuration could be considered an absolute checkmate for all factions, a walking, mobile super care package!!

He was merely slightly inferior to those cultivated since childhood.

Therefore.

Any major family looking at Nishigami Yari would surely speak in sweet, honeyed tones; even if his aptitude among Awakeners turned out to be mediocre, they would still exclaim that their side genuinely needed such a rare talent, offering top-tier treatment!!

To put it bluntly.

In the global market for kept-men sons-in-law.

Nishigami Yari's rarity was unquestionable!!

Throughout this entire affair.

The only minor issue was whether Nishigami Yari could swallow his pride and lower himself to become a kept-man son-in-law.

And the answer... was already certain!

Unfettered by trivial details, how could he possibly be the kind of guy to give up a life of living off a woman and waiting for death over some petty pride and face?

Let alone having the children take the bride's surname after marrying in.

As long as the terms were right, he wouldn't mind changing his own surname to match the bride's either!!

After all, his name was chosen at random anyway; he could change it however he liked.

It held not a single cent of ancestral legacy or profound meaning.

It didn't matter.

He was set!

Besides, what was there to fear about marrying into a family?

Nothing more than the fear of lacking status afterward.

Living off the bride's family and using their resources normally made it quite difficult to claim any domestic authority.

But he was an Awakener!

Any faction whatsoever would gladly sponsor an Awakener!

Even joining a government agency would instantly secure him a managerial tier position, an Awakener who could just sit in an office playing video games every day while collecting a paycheck!!

Did he need to fear any of that?

Even if he literally married into some major clan, he would at least count as a stakeholder holding equity.

His say might not necessarily be overwhelmingly high.

But more or less, he'd definitely still have some.

He didn't have to worry at all about anyone giving him the cold shoulder; a parasite's life was stable and wonderful!!

Thinking of this.

Nishigami Yari couldn't help but let his imagination wander into rather unrelated territory.

'Honestly... optimizing bloodlines and all that, I completely don't mind. I wonder if those major families have many single, beautiful maidens... There probably are quite a few, seeing as they're major families after all... If I marry in, would they mind if I took a few more female relatives of the bride... When it comes to the matter of bloodline optimization, I feel like I might be able to bear even greater responsibilities, and helping out the bride's family is basically my bounden duty, right...?'

Contemplating matters so profound.

Nishigami Yari, fully prepared to be a kept man, pondered the monumental responsibilities he might have to shoulder in the future.

His hunched waist.

Involuntarily straightened right up.

He felt that his future was truly full of hope!!

Looking at it from any angle, he had a bright future ahead of him, so he naturally had to stand tall!!

Truly all roads led to Rome, and this kind of life script was simply fantastic!!

In other words, as long as your mindset doesn't collapse, solutions will always outweigh difficulties!!

As for concealing his identity, completely hiding his strength, and living out his days as an ordinary person?

Nishigami Yari had never even considered such a thing.

After all, he wasn't an idiot looking to get needlessly beaten down.

Much less the kind of classic moron who gets bestowed with supreme power only to shout: "No, I just want to live a simple life!!"

My power is meant for me to enjoy life...

Suffering through hardship was fine.

But suffering through hardship blindly for no reason?

That was simply sheer stupidity.

Right at this moment.

Just as Nishigami Yari was pondering what kind of life script he had drawn and which route he should take, he abruptly heard a faint sound.

[ DING ~ ]

"?"

In just a split second.

Hearing that crisp, instantly familiar chime echoing inside his head.

A miraculous premonition immediately surfaced in his heart.

At the same time, he instinctively guessed at what was happening.

[ The Life Winner System has been activated: Thank you for using! ]

In this fleeting moment.

Faced with the sudden pop-up window and reminder sound appearing in his mind.

He instantly transitioned from astonishment to a profound, deep realization that the life script he held wasn't some genius route or trash route at all, but rather the System Route...

"Whoa, this is getting kind of cool ~"

Nishigami Yari instinctively hesitated, falling into a second of deep thought.

Then.

When he focused his attention on the System pop-up in his mind, he instinctively understood how this gadget worked.

It was as if the entity had automatically transmitted a bit of operational know-how straight into his mind.

[ Access System Interface: Yes / No ]

Following his thought.

[ Yes ] was selected.

Immediately, a panel materialized before his eyes.

[ System Type: Life Winner System —— Deluxe Supreme Customized Edition (Origin: Crimson Heaven, Fallen Omnic Council, Devil Realm Secret Heaven, Serial Number: Department of Technical Development No. 1, 666,666th Supreme Confidential Dossier) ]

[ Character Profile Interface: Expandable ]

[ Basic Settings Interface: Expandable ]

[ Customer Service Hotline: Connectable ]

"Well, isn't that just wildly impressive..."

While marveling at this, Nishigami Yari couldn't help but scratch his head:

"Not only does it have a place of manufacture and an ID number, but there's even a customer service hotline?"

Casually tapping open the [ Basic Settings Interface ], he immediately spotted a multitude of options packed inside.

[ Intelligent AI: Disabled, Type customizable ]

[ System Interface BGM: Disabled, Tracks customizable ]

[ System Interface Background Art and Icon Customization ]

"..."

"The operational interface has an absurdly high degree of freedom."

"Damn, it even has BGM?"

These kinds of high-freedom options made Nishigami Yari briefly feel as though he were tinkering with a brand-new computer.

However, in the end, his gaze still drifted over to the [ Customer Service Hotline ].

No other choice, this gadget gave him a rather uncanny sense of déjà vu.

After pondering for a moment.

He chose to connect to the customer service hotline.

Following that, he felt as if he had suddenly been transported into a region resembling a starry cosmos.

Right before him, a black telephone in the middle of a call abruptly materialized.

Roughly grasping what was going on, he reached out and picked it up.

A greeting voice was instantly transmitted from the other end of the black telephone.

"Hello there, esteemed user, how may I assist you?"

It was clearly a voice with a somewhat mechanical texture, yet it unmistakably exuded a strong sense of fawning flattery.

"..."

"I just want to ask, how did this System come to be?"

While asking the question.

Nishigami Yari couldn't help but think that in most stories, the origin of a cheat was usually something revealed much later, or even near the very climax.

Here I am, just getting started though...

The response from the other side came remarkably fast; the moment Nishigami Yari finished speaking, the voice on the other end replied:

"The custom product you are using is typically shipped directly to the client. As for how the client ultimately delivered the item to you, we are not privy to that information."

Damn it.

This style of answering was agonizingly familiar...

Ah, I remember now, this is basically the classic corporate buck-passing style of response.

"... Fine then."

Subsequently, Nishigami Yari asked a few more trivial questions.

Such as whether this gadget required him to pay any maintenance costs or service fees.

The answer, naturally, was no.

As the user of a deluxe supreme customized product, he was even counted as a super VIP client on the other end, entitled to enjoy lifetime after-sales service.

Including, but not limited to, System updates and System patches.

Just hearing that sounded pretty ok.

And when faced with Nishigami Yari's question regarding the identity of the person who custom-ordered this gadget.

The voice on the other end of the line bluntly stated that the individual was known as the [ Crimson King ].

Rumor had it that he was a truly awesome guy!

Before even finishing the name, the representative launched into a sycophantic tirade, spewing glowing adjectives for a solid three minutes straight.

Furthermore, regarding all of Nishigami Yari's inquiries, they practically answered everything asked.

Utterly cooperative with an exceptionally pleasant attitude.

After quite a while.

"Wishing you a pleasant life!"

When Nishigami Yari hung up amidst the other party's blessings, he once again couldn't help falling into silence.

Several question marks kept flashing incessantly inside his head.

However.

After a round of questioning.

Although he still didn't fully grasp the actual situation, such as failing to understand why the guy who tossed this gadget to him did so in the first place.

He still clearly knew that, broadly speaking, he had struck gold.

This kind of scenario where someone else hands over a fully loaded wallet and tells you to max it out however you please.

To be honest.

After pondering for a few seconds, Nishigami Yari quickly and deeply arrived at a conclusion.

Everything was in hand anyway.

And he wasn't taking any losses.

He didn't seem to have any reason to obsess over it...

As the saying goes, if you can't figure it out, stop thinking about it, just do it!!

When facing the unknown, there's no need to be afraid; we must bravely experiment!!

If things really go wrong, worst case scenario, he'd just lay flat right on the spot!!

As long as my rate of lying flat is fast enough, any plots and schemes won't have a damn thing to do with me!!

Alright, he was still completely secure ~

Thinking of this.

Nishigami Yari instantly felt at ease ~

"System!!"

"Open up my character profile and let me check out what you can do, buddy!!"

Even though he didn't need to speak out loud, he still couldn't resist shouting a couple of lines right then and there.

The next moment.

As soon as his voice trailed off.

The character interface was instantly displayed before his eyes in a rapid blur.

Even.

Accompanied by a booming intro track playing in the background!

"Welcome to experiencing the simple mode, nay, the utterly effortless, joyful life route ~"

"Life Winner System —— Deluxe Supreme Customized Edition, sincerely providing you with professional service ~"

In short, it was utterly professional!

[ Learning Point: 1 ] ( Grants 1 point daily, allowing the user's consciousness to instantly enter a designated learning space to concentrate wholeheartedly on intense study for 7 days, while the real world outside advances by a mere split second. )

[ Daily Mood Value Gachapon Draw Opportunity: 1 ] ( Grants one draw opportunity daily. The pool of rewards spans various items that the user does not detest and which possess genuine utility. )

In short.

The interface wasn't overly complicated.

Once Nishigami Yari focused his attention on any given option, its function would be automatically understood.

If the [ Inherent Talents ] referred to his own innate abilities, which couldn't be removed or toggled and remained effective at all times,

Then the [ Bonus Talents ] referred to talents acquired through the System, which could be toggled on or off at will, acting somewhat like customizable peripheral components.

As for the System inventory...

That required no explanation.

Any System items he acquired from the System in the future, regardless of size, could be unconditionally stored within it.

The internal System storage space was the exact same.

Everyone understood.

It was essentially a growth-type spatial equipment!

A classic functional staple.

You might not need to use it, but you couldn't afford not to have it!

Meanwhile, the Learning Point and daily gachapon draw opportunity were rather interesting.

Both of these automatically incremented by 1 every day, serving as free daily perks.

The former would be a fantastic help for Nishigami Yari.

Because his strength was growing at such a rapid pace, he realized he was already struggling a bit to control it, easily damaging things if he wasn't careful.

Even his original phone had its screen cracked that very morning when he squeezed it too hard.

He no longer dared to touch it casually.

Terrified that he might accidentally make it explode.

This resulted in him not even being able to order takeout properly.

Which meant that today, having stayed indoors all day, he had only eaten a single meal.

The opportunity to study for 7 days instantly.

Presumably, it would also allow him to better adapt to his constantly surging strength.

At the very least...

It should keep him from accidentally smashing everything in sight, right?

Or perhaps, lowering the requirement even further?

So he wouldn't accidentally kill or cripple someone the moment he lost focus?

A guy with the strength to lift a car with one hand wandering around while failing to control his strength, that mental image was a bit too wild...

It was practically no different from a steamroller crushing everything randomly in its path.

Hence, he currently didn't dare to step outside at all.

Regarding this aspect.

The education Nishigami Yari received in this lifetime had also covered it.

Awakeners, upon just awakening, should make an effort not to wander around, nor should they engage in close contact with family members.

Otherwise, it was very easy to cause accidental incidents.

The best course of action was to directly call and notify the authorities.

By then.

Special staff would be dispatched to deliver food and drinks along with emotional check-ins, accompanied by a physical examination and registration of details.

Naturally.

That sort of process would also inevitably result in a large batch of staff members pestering and trying to recruit you into their respective departments.

If things went poorly.

You might even end up on the news and similar platforms.

If the government department were to further communicate with the Awakener's friends and family, conducting ideological outreach on them, and ultimately having those friends and family members join in to persuade the Awakener...

With that entire combination package deployed.

Normally speaking.

An Awakener had a massive probability of failing to withstand the onslaught...

And would instantly find themselves coerced into a position, drafted right on the spot.

To be honest.

That sort of outcome wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

After all, official benefits were actually quite generous.

Moreover, friends and family often got to tag along and secure some minor official post, all landing jobs right on the spot.

However... That being said, your personal freedom would ultimately be a notch lower.

Therefore, taking all factors into account, that route was more suited for Awakeners with families to support.

For a solitary lone wolf like Nishigami Yari.

He didn't have any friends or family that needed to be brought along into a career; as long as he was well-fed and clothed, that was enough, and there was zero need for him to wade into the muddy waters of official recruitment.

Not to mention he still harbored grand ambitions of finding a wealthy, beautiful patron lady.

If he could easily latch onto a wealthy woman and live off her, why bother getting a job?

Completely unnecessary.

Consequently.

Even while confirming his identity as an Awakener, Nishigami Yari had no intention of reporting it, preferring to starve through a couple of meals instead.

Compared to the function of Learning Points, the System's [ Daily Mood Value Gachapon Draw Opportunity ] was similarly immensely useful.

Based on the information Nishigami Yari received, this gachapon draw came with absolutely no hidden costs, nor were there any restrictions on the pool of rewards.

Everything pulled from it was guaranteed to be something the user didn't detest and which possessed genuine utility.

However, just how useful or favored it would be...

Was rather hard to say.

Whether the items pulled from this feature were good or bad largely depended on Nishigami Yari's mood that day.

The better Nishigami Yari's mood was on that day, the higher his chances of pulling good items would be.

Conversely, the worse his mood on that day, the lower the probability of pulling good items.

Hence.

This feature was fittingly named the [ Daily Mood Value Gachapon Draw Opportunity ].

The user's mood would trigger distinct upward or downward fluctuations in probability.

Though even if his mood were terrible, there was still a probability of pulling good items...

Furthermore.

Based on the feedback Nishigami Yari received.

He could also, to a certain extent, designate the specific type of item he wanted.

The more he desired a certain category of System items, the higher his probability of pulling an item of that category.

Not only could it be considered an intention-locked gachapon pool.

It could outright be called a mild, universal wish-granting machine.

Daily usage count automatically incremented by 1.

Whatever you wanted, just focus your thoughts on it firmly!

The better your mood that day.

The higher the success probability!

Right now.

Looking at that single draw opportunity.

Nishigami Yari, embracing a trial mindset without much hesitation, directly chose to use it.

'Give me something I can use right now...'

Then he saw the gachapon chat interface pop up in his mind.

At the top, a slot-machine-like device featuring 666 rotating reels was spinning into action.

At the same time.

A classic, upbeat gachapon jingle echoed through his mind.

As the music played, every single reel rolled rapidly, spinning at a speed so dizzying he couldn't make anything out.

Moreover.

A red button appeared in his vision.

Based on the feedback information.

Nishigami Yari understood that this was the stop-lock.

Once he pressed it.

All 666 internal reels, each concealing different items, would grind to a halt.

At that point, he would simply need to randomly select one of them to open.

Depending on his personal thoughts and mood variations, the types of items contained within those 666 reels during each spin would vary slightly.

For instance, the proportion of items he actually needed among the various System items depended purely on how steadfast his intent was.

[ Stop ]!

All the reels came to an abrupt halt.

Faced with identical-looking options.

Nishigami Yari didn't bother observing too closely.

Because they had all morphed to look exactly the same...

He casually picked one from the middle.

Accompanied by his selection.

The next moment.

Every single gachapon reel except for his chosen target instantly vanished.

Meanwhile, that chosen gachapon reel floated right in front of Nishigami Yari.

Automatically revealing the item hidden inside.

A crystal card gleaming with a faint, violet-blue luster.

Inscribed upon it were numerous patterns and annotations.
