Chapter 1 - Prologue

*Adam POV*

*#Today, in front of all my friends, my boyfriend is going to propose to me#*

That was the text sent to me by the girl who claimed to be my husband's girlfriend.

She's already sent me a lot of "proof" of their relationship.

Underwear he left behind, gifts, and photos of them together. Proof that they have something going on.

*#Before you say yes, make sure he's already divorced from his wife first. Because maybe the best position he can give you is fiancée. The truth is, you're just being fooled into thinking he'll leave his wife for you. But what he really wants is your womb.#*

That was my reply.

Because until now, she and everyone else still thinks my husband's wife is a woman.

"Good morning, Miss Eve. What hairstyle would you like today?"

"Slick side part." I answered.

"Are you sure, Miss Eve?" the hairstylist asked.

"When have I _not_ been sure about the haircut I want?" I said, raising an eyebrow.

To please my husband's mother, I followed what they wanted. I became a woman in front of everyone. For the sake of the Gomes family's reputation.

But in the end, what they care about more than the family name is getting a grandchild.

I could actually give my husband a child if I just bit him. That would complete our bond.

But I don't want to trap him. Because once I mark him, it's for life. The bite mark will only disappear if one of us dies.

That's different from a mate bond that can be nullified by saying *"I rejected you as my mate."*

"Miss Eve, you actually look handsome with that hairstyle. The person in front of me looks like a totally different person, even though they look similar to the one who walked in earlier." she flattered me.

I grabbed her chin and pulled her face closer to mine. I noticed her cheeks turn red.

I smiled, then brushed her hair aside and tucked it behind her ear.

"You're pretty too. You're just 2 years too late." She blushed even harder.

"Miss Eve~" she whined cutely.

"Hahaha." I laughed, and she laughed too.

"Alright, alright. I won't tease you anymore. But am I really that handsome? Am I more handsome than my husband?"

"Of course. But Miss Eve, I don't mean to pry... but with that look, you don't stand a chance against Mia."

"So you know her." I crossed my arms.

"Not really. She was my classmate in high school, before her family won the lottery."

"What else?"

"She's been chasing after Sir Emanuel for a long time. But Sir never paid attention to her." she immediately defended him.

"Even before you and Sir met and got married, she was always bragging to everyone in the mall that she was Sir's fiancée. Since Sir Emanuel didn't care about her, a lot of people believed her. Especially when she spread the rumor that you got pregnant by Sir, so their wedding didn't push through."

"I've been Manuel's boyfriend since second year high school. How shameless of her to lie." I said, annoyed.

"Miss Eve, are you lying to me? Because you really look like__"

She didn't get to finish. I gave her a glare.

"O.M.G." She covered her mouth with both hands.

There's a photo hanging at the entrance of Manuel's office in the mall. A photo of us from when we were still in high school. We were playing truth or dare.

My dare was to wear a dress until the game was over.

The hairstyle I have now is the same hairstyle I had back then.

*'No one can take my man away.'*

I swore to myself.
