Runo hovered in the sky as giant blasters materialized around her, firing relentlessly. Each blast detonated midair, producing explosions so violent they shattered mountains and tore through the wasteland below.
Her opponent—an angel—moved like a streak of light.
She flew at intense speeds, weaving between explosions, slicing through Runo's attacks with her sword as if they were nothing. Every clash of energy triggered shockwaves that pulverized the terrain beneath them.
Runo clenched her teeth and summoned three massive circular devices behind her. The constructs whirred to life, unleashing an endless storm of beams and artillery.
Yet the angel continued forward.
Her sword flashed again and again, blocking, deflecting, and cleaving through the barrage while darting through the air at blinding speed and skills.
Runo grimaced.
"I'm running out of energy…"
Her breathing grew heavier as she fought to maintain balance.
"The amount of energy I have determines the weapons I can summon—and how destructive they are. But at this rate… I'll tire out.".
The angel raised her sword.
"Divine Spears."
Brilliant spears of pure energy formed around her and launched forward in rapid succession.
Runo clicked her tongue in irritation and summoned two katana's, gripping them tightly as she spun in air and sliced through the incoming attacks. Despite their speed and power, she barely managed to keep up—each impact sending tremors through her arms.
The angel's voice echoed, cold and mechanical.
"Activating: Nuke Wiper. Threat has shown a great amount of power. Elimination required."
She pointed her sword at Runo.
Energy gathered at the blade's tip—violent, unstable, flaring outward like an unhinged lightning storm. The sky darkened as the attack started to form, the land below filled with vallies, hill and mountains started to shake.
Runo's eyes widened.
"Tch—what now?!"
She immediately flew backward at full speed.
"If I don't stop that attack, I'm dead! Which means… I have to shut it down!"
Two plasma cannons materialized beside her, firing relentlessly. The angel calmly slapped the plasma away, never interrupting her charge.
Runo snapped.
"DON'T SCREW WITH ME!!", she growled.
The angel spoke again.
"Preparations complete. Ultimate attack: Inverted Destroyer."
A colossal beam erupted from her sword.
The attack erased everything in its path simply by moving—forests, mountains, hills—all annihilated before impact.
Runo couldn't react in time "SHIT!", she exclaimed.
The beam struck her directly.
A catastrophic explosion engulfed the battlefield, tearing the land apart and leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.
When the smoke finally cleared, the angel hovered above the ruins.
Below her lay Runo—crashed into the ground, motionless.
"Target defeated. Still presumed alive. Disposal required."
Runo groaned.
Blood ran down her forehead. Her arms were burned, skin torn open, fingers charred black. Slowly—painfully—she forced herself to stand.
"So this is how it ends, huh…"
She laughed weakly "Kahaha!".
"Guess that's war for ya! Only one side gets to walk away.".
Her eyes hardened as she stood up.
"…Since it's explosions we're making...", she raised her head with a devious smirk "I'll take you out with a bang."
She raised her head
"Legalize all nuclear bombs. Now drop—"
Her voice echoed across the wasteland.
"Nuclear Demise: Continental Wiper."
The sky split open.
A gigantic beam of light descended from above as massive mechanical components assembled midair. Piece by piece, they locked together—forming a nuclear weapon so enormous it dwarfed entire cities.
The angel reacted instantly.
"Threat detected. Extreme danger. Elimination priority raised."
She lunged forward at full speed.
Runo grinned—bloodied, unhinged, fearless.
"This is my ultimate trump card. Continental Wiper, stronger than the most powerful bombs on this planet. Make sure you savor it. After all…"
Her eyes lit up with rage.
"You started this fight."
The angel raised her sword to strike—
"FALL."
The bomb dropped.
The detonation was instantaneous.
A world-shaking explosion erupted, tearing through the land and triggering a massive earthquake as mountains and lands got eviscerated. The sky was filled with a catastrophic explosion.
When the smoke faded, the angel lay broken on the ground—body scorched, limbs destroyed, form crumbling into ash.
Runo staggered forward.
"Sorry for going that far… I promised to save you."
She exhaled shakily.
"You can rest now. It's over. Go to sleep."
The angel smiled faintly as she faded.
"…I was once a guardian angel of a millennia stone. I died protecting it… and awoke again as a puppet."
Her voice softened.
"Thank you… for freeing me from this curse."
Her form vanished completely.
Runo's legs finally gave out.
She collapsed onto the ground, eyes closing as exhaustion claimed her.
"…Goddammit," she muttered faintly.
"You're most definitely welcome."
