Chapter 258 - Of luxury and the storm.

March 16, 2005.

Most of the time, once again before an audience, Scarlett was taking her position at the microphone, fidgeting with her fingers as she tried to grip it firmly. Billy played the guitar with calm composure, unbothered by the silence of the crowd. Many people understood the situation—the drummer barely knew anything about big tours.

-It seems like today's going to be one of those days,- Billy sighed to himself. The band's energy didn't seem in sync today; something was off. Maybe it was the accumulated exhaustion, or maybe they simply hadn't connected with the project. Still, that wasn't the way to treat the band. It lacked magnetism. Billy frowned, his fingers releasing a powerful chord, stirring something deep within his heart—his wish for people to sing along, and when they did, to share the authentic nature of music.

His eyes locked on Scarlett as he moved toward her, step by step. Billy's strong presence seemed to eclipse the girl's small frame—it was a new silhouette, towering, broad, almost manifest in its realization.

Her eyes were like an iris.

-What are you daring to do?- Billy said.

-What?- the girl questioned, her green eyes turning almost yellow under the doubt. Her nose twitched as if it itched; she shifted from side to side—what could she do? Since childhood, challenges had always come disguised as something soft, complementary. The support of her parents, the company of those who shaped her life—all of it had made her a woman of home, of hearth, one who sought companionship. But Billy's intensity bordered on mockery—that challenging gaze.

-Prisoner,- she muttered.

-Start,- Billy replied, his voice burning through her chest, leaving her almost breathless. How ironic life could be.

-Let's sing,- she answered, as the guitar shifted from an aggressive rock rhythm to a softer rock tone without losing its intensity. She looked at the drummer, who quickly joined in, and soon the rest of the instruments came alive—almost as fast as Scarlett's sigh breaking the heavy silence. When it comes to music, only a true force can awaken what they call the state between the mind and the unconscious.

The first step was cautious, almost a whisper.

She responded swiftly. (You search your Heart)

🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

And you search your heart

And you search your heart

And you search your

I just wanna tell you

I don't know why

If you find the answer

I'll be inside

Arranging time

Unfinished, Billy now tried to guide the guitar toward a friendlier sound. The guitar was the instrument people always noticed first, followed by the drums and bass. A good musician blended perfectly between guitar and drums—trained ears could tell in an instant.

It was a sign of control. Chaos, on the other hand, was different. What he sought was to connect with the audience.

🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

You won't find another dummy wait for you

So don't hate the one who lives for you

Don't blame him for your trouble

And you search your heart

And you search your heart

I don't need the answer

I just don't know

If you'd find it one day

I know that your strength is gone

And you are shattered

🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

Don't make me for I live for you (live for you)

Don't make me do things you want to

Don't blame me for your trouble

Once you know, once your over the top of the hill

Your whole life ain't no supermarket store

And you know this

And it shows

And it shows

Yeah yeah yeah yeha

🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵

So don't blame the boy who is there for you

Don't make him do things you want to

Don't blame him for your trouble

Don't hate him for your trouble

Don't blame him for your ooh

And you search your heart

And you search your heart

And you search your

Scarlett was beyond crazy; adrenaline drove her to kiss with a frenzy that was almost a fervent reason to lose her mind and give what they call a life worthy of a person. What was happening inside her that her mind couldn't control the feeling of behaving differently with Billy, while her mind spun through so many scenarios about the breakup, the obsession, and the incongruent presence in her life. A breeding ground, power for acting, a desire to reflect all that was shifting in her life through her work, how painful it can be when something compromises the essence of a person.

-I think that...-

-Just shut up and keep going. Even if the world ends tomorrow. -Billy responded, absorbing her, taking so much from her, and at the same time, there was a part of her brain she didn't know existed, and it made her doubt her life from the way the world brought excitement.

-You're a complete fool. -she whispered, pulling herself back.

Billy took off his shirt while marking her body with light bites, hard, possessive, almost made by a rogue, biting her all over from neck to hips, tasting her sex. He used his fingers, pressing her stomach while making what they called a tender love. He massaged her buttocks, and a jolt of electricity surged from her entire soul, her lips swollen, and everything she felt was a mix of thousands of endorphins; even the slightest sigh took her to heaven, and Billy knew that.

Every sensation was like thousands of nerve endings firing, each one igniting her entire body.

-I...-The release caused her to contract, expel, jump, and reach what they call an imaginable limit from addiction. Her mind dreamed, loved, and reveled in this moment; Billy was made to make her feel sex, not love.

A wave of heat brought an inexplicable release, which he gladly used to release all the tension she had from days of singing and touring, where unknown or known people were all of a certain style, tiring her soul and tainting her heart's wear.

That wear was eased when everything Billy filled Scarlett with was the limit of fulfillment.

Her hips moved up and down as if she were the victim of a tickle attack; she danced, her heart pounding a thousand beats per minute, slowing down as Billy approached her and kissed her neck, soothing her spasms.

-If you let me, I will surely hate you my whole life, idiot. -Scarlett answered.

Billy's pearly face was sweaty as he greeted the girl while nodding, though such an act was not an affirmative gesture. Just the critique of someone who lived on strong emotions and knew the jolt of a woman in love, something that gave him a sense of escape and travel, of complete forgetfulness.

-We have a party to attend.- He answered with certainty and steadiness, almost aware of the fulfillment that intimidated him. Attachment is always what intimidates.

-Almost aware. -Scarlett replied.

-Just give me a moment, enough time to regain control of my legs. -
