Before the line Murphy drew on the battlefield, the river of blood flowed. The bodies of the slain Wolf People piled up so much that they blocked the advance of the subsequent troops. The Wolf People in the rear had to throw their comrades' bodies into the deep valley beside the shattered mountain to continue forward. Murphy, along with the Clan Guard, held their ground until the early hours. After the Nords and Goldenrod People retreated, Murphy slowly withdrew with the vampires into the valley.
By this time, the wounded and civilians in the valley had already evacuated through the tunnels. On this night, with fierce battles raging in and outside of the valley, even the manpower-unafraid Wolf People couldn't allocate more forces for pursuit of those retreating towards Baphomet Canyon amidst attacks from all directions.
Huggesen quickly came to his senses. He realized the Transia People's massive counterattack wasn't truly aimed at crushing the Wolf People.
