Wen Yu's own desire to return to Cathay wasn't absolute. Kuangliu's desire might have been slightly stronger. However, without Wen Yu, or more accurately, without Star, it would be difficult for Kuangliu to run back to Cathay. The journey would take him across wilds filled with mutant beasts. Speed wasn't the issue; avoiding the beasts was the real problem.
As a divine beast, Star could potentially cross over half the Earth. Though difficult, it wasn't an unimaginable feat.
What the duo should do next depended on the outcome of Kuangliu's communication with Lin Haifeng. Of course, this process would require several steps to relay the communication, which would inevitably waste some time.
Meanwhile, Wen Yu was completely engrossed in the small booklet Jake had presented.
