Yu Zhen risked his life, seeking the return of the Dragon Clan. This failed move directly led to the largest contender's exit from the Demon Emperor's struggle.
Yuan Xi's tenure as Demon Emperor cannot be deemed unsuccessful.
After all, under his leadership, the Demon clan won the Wuling Blood War, swept the Five Evils Basin, and nearly broke through The Gate of All Demons! Though ultimately failing at the last moment, it was the most glorious victory since the New Realm.
But the Monster Realm was inherently insufficient; the Celestial Prison was essentially a massive cage.
The Demon clan was trapped here, and without breaking the cage, no matter the struggle, it merely prolonged the inevitable demise.
Though the Human and Demon clans never ceased their daily battles, the Demon clan never retreated.
