The noise of the café seemed to fade into the background until all Jiang Yi could see was Bai Meilin standing in front of him, her fingertips still resting lightly against the faded scar on his abdomen, her beautiful eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Then her lower lip trembled,"I..." she began softly.
Her voice was still naturally quiet, but it no longer carried the reluctance it had before in the city "I missed you, Jiang Yi."
The words struck him harder than any weapon ever had.His expression froze, not because he doubted what he had heard. But, because for several seconds his mind simply refused to process it.
Bai Meilin lowered her eyes and a faint blush colored her cheeks.
"I know my brother kept me hidden so they couldn't fing me…so you couldn't find me," she continued, her voice barely above a whisper. "He was worried about me."
A small smile appeared on her face."He worries too much sometimes."
