Edward stood straight, lightning crackling across his body even without the active use of any spells.
Meanwhile, Orion stood a hundred meters away from him, his face slightly pale and his eyes flickering with wariness.
He couldn't understand how the blue-eyed youth before him had such fluid command over the lightning element. Even that last attack… the force behind it was so overwhelming that, for a split second, he thought he wouldn't be able to defend against it.
But thankfully, the youth's powers seemed oddly volatile. And so Orion quickly realized that his opponent must have only recently advanced. Or it just didn't make sense for a Mana Core Magus — the arcane peak of this world — to have such amateur control over his spell.
Once he realized that fact, he gradually calmed down. With his mind now stable, his eyes narrowed as he gazed at Edward.
"So you're with the Dark King?" he asked, his tone laced with slight apprehension.
