After spending the night at the cave recuperating, Adam and Luca made haste the following day.
The [Blood Compass] continued as long as two conditions were met: the target remained alive, and the target did not stray far beyond the compass's effective range.
Adam feared that while he and Luca rested for the night, the goat monster, Carou, would have traveled a great distance, effectively making the [Blood Compass] useless.
Fortunately, that did not happen.
'I can only assume that the monster rested at night to deal with its injuries,' Luca said through the communication artifact as the pair leapt from one branch to another, following the compass.
Adam nodded solemnly, not quite satisfied with how things were going.
Luca noticed his grave expression and couldn't help but say, 'This is good news, Constantine. Cheer up a little.'
Adam sighed. He turned to the towering hulk of a man and said with a bitter smile, 'Any time things start to go my way, I get increasingly suspicious.'
