After his injury, Jason had showed a tendency to dribble to embarass his opponents, a danger inducing style of play and he had been warned about the repercussions it could cause.
Of course Jason didn't care and he did it anyway, but due to the battle going on between him and Lucas Moura, Jason had unknowingly reverted back to his usual style of play.
He had acted like he wasn't bothered by the competition, but he had gone back to his style of play that had showed results, not bothering to experiment and cutting down on non-essential dribbling because what he wanted was results.
This was no time to be trying to embarass his opponents and then have no stats other than dribbles completed to show for it.
However after what he had just faced from the Southampton players and the referee's dismissiveness, all he wanted to do was get back at them now.
Since he wasn't a violent person, he wasn't going to get into physical battles with his opponents just so he could get his own back.
