Inside the guild, in an isolated room, Kayden scratched his head and muttered,
"Ah, what a headache… what a headache."
"At least you still have a head for that, right? I almost lost mine," Edward said, tapping a finger against his temple. "And I didn't even get an explanation. I was just dragged here and now I'm forced to listen to you complain."
Nindia lay silently in Edward's lap, eyes closed, her ears twitching as she listened carefully. She wasn't the only one paying attention—Noctua was watching as well, but from inside the library. The moment she sensed Kayden, she decided not to take any risks. Even the faintest chance of being detected wasn't worth it.
Kayden let out a long sigh, then tapped his finger against the bridge of his nose and raised his gaze to Edward.
"We've been here for less than a minute, and you know how serious this is. Let me process it first."
