Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 - Half naked

Hui Lang gazed up at the man's strikingly handsome face.

Why did I even try to save him? he thought bitterly. I could have escaped while everyone was distracted. Maybe I could've contacted one of my friends... Why? Why did I do something so stupid?

He had never been an impulsive person. He didn't make decisions on a whim.

But strangely, whenever this stupid angel was in danger, he couldn't help losing his mind.

Why was that...?

Once again, he looked up at Tian.

Am I charmed by his face?

The very thought made his entire piglet body tremble violently.

Tian gently patted the piglet's head.

"Are you cold? Wait."

Without hesitation, Tian pulled off his oversized T-shirt and wrapped Hui Lang up like a pig-shaped blanket burrito.

Eyes widening, Hui Lang let out a shocked oink.

OI! What are you doing?! Why are you half naked?!

He immediately struggled against the fabric prison, trying to free himself. Unfortunately, his tiny body made escape impossible. The stupid angel had wrapped him far too tightly.

Idiot! You can't be naked in a shop! They might arrest you for being an exhibitionist!

He oinked furiously.

Of course, all that came out was a series of useless pig noises.

With a sigh, he looked away.

Then his eyes instantly widened in horror.

Right beside his face was a pink, supple nipple.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

As the angel hugged him tightly, the offending body part rubbed against his face.

Oh my god... Why is this happening to me...? Just kill me, God. Just kill me...

Suddenly Tian flinched and held his chest.

"Huh? Your fur tickled me. Hehe... it actually feels nice."

As he spoke, he continued rubbing against the pig's body.

"I guess the human body is much more sensitive than I expected."

The piglet remained completely still.

Deadly still.

God.

Take me now.

I've suffered enough.

A faint pink flush spread across his face. Piglets were already pink, but somehow he looked even pinker than before.

Tian tilted his head.

"Are you sick? Do pigs get sick? Do you grow up to be even pinker?"

Mumbling to himself, he placed the wrapped piglet on the ground, loosely tied the shirt around him again, and returned to work while humming softly.

The cold wind made him shiver slightly, but he didn't seem bothered by it.

A few moments later, the bell above the door chimed.

A customer walked in.

It was a young girl staring at her phone. Without looking up, she wandered over to a shelf, grabbed a bag of chips, and headed toward the counter.

"Let me ring that up for you~"

Tian cheerfully took the chips and scanned them.

The girl, who had been busy chatting on her phone, suddenly noticed a pair of pale hands holding her purchase.

Slowly, she raised her head.

A sharp gasp escaped her lips before she even realized it.

The man behind the counter was absolutely gorgeous.

His pale face was delicate and youthful. Soft red lips contrasted beautifully against fair skin. But his body...

Good lord.

Slim, toned, and ridiculously attractive.

He wasn't particularly muscular, but somehow that only made him look even better.

As if sensing her stare, the young man looked up and smiled.

"That'll be twenty-five yuan."

The girl simply gaped at him.

Surprised, Tian touched his face.

"Do I have something on my face?"

"N-No! Just... n-nothing. Nothing at all."

She quickly scanned the payment code and paid.

A soft snap suddenly sounded.

Tian glanced at her curiously.

"Bye! I'll come again!"

Shouting the words, she ran out of the store while clutching her phone tightly.

Tian watched the girl sprint down the street like she had just robbed a bank.

He tilted his head.

"Did she forget her chips?"

Hui Lang nearly blacked out from rage.

THAT IS WHAT YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT?!

SHE TOOK A PHOTO OF YOU HALF NAKED!

BY TONIGHT YOU'RE GOING TO BE TRENDING ON THE INTERNET UNDER THE TITLE:

MYSTERIOUS HOT SHOP CLERK DISCOVERED IN LOCAL CONVENIENCE STORE

YOU ABSOLUTE MORON!

"Humans are really weird..." Mumbling to himself, the angel returned to work.

Meanwhile, Hui Lang was absolutely horrified.

Rolling frantically across the floor, he wriggled until the T-shirt wrapped around him finally loosened.

He grabbed the fabric with his teeth and dragged it toward Tian as fast as possible.

Fucking wear your shirt!

He repeatedly nudged the man's leg while oinking furiously.

Naturally, the stupid angel understood nothing.

"Oh? Did that come undone? Little Bacon must be cold."

Cooing affectionately, Tian wrapped him up once more.

Into an even tighter burrito.

Hui Lang's eyes became completely lifeless.

It's so fucking bad being trapped in this body...

At that point, he simply gave up trying to dress the idiot.

He flopped onto the slightly dirty floor and closed his eyes.

Soon sleep overtook him.

The next thing he knew, he was completely unconscious.

Tian gazed down at the small piglet curled up peacefully on the floor.

A bright smile spread across his face.

Who knew raising a little thing could be so fun? No wonder humans love raising cats and dogs. My little Bacon is better than those pets for sure.

He continued cleaning the counter before suddenly pausing.

But he's supposed to be my food, right...?

The thought made him blink.

Then why am I thinking of him as my pet?

He glanced down at the sleeping piglet.

He's my dinner. Yeah... I shouldn't treat him like a pet. Otherwise, I might not be able to eat him when the time comes.

Still humming happily, he continued working.

A few hours later, the entire store was spotless.

Every shelf gleamed.

Snacks and supplies were neatly arranged in rows, each one properly labeled and stocked.

Grandpa Chao walked in and immediately paused when he noticed Tian's lack of clothing.

"Where's your shirt, young man? Aren't you cold?"

The old man quickly removed his scarf and handed it over.

"Come by my house later. I still have some of my younger son's clothes that might fit you."

"But I have a shirt."

Tian pointed at the piglet.

"He's wearing it."

Grandpa Chao stared.

"Well, I can't have you running around half-naked, can I?"

Tian awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah, I guess humans don't do that."

The old man gave him a strange look.

"No. No, they don't."

He pointed toward the door.

"Quickly wrap yourself up and follow me."

"Okay~"

Tian happily scooped up the sleeping piglet and followed after him.

The old man's trembling hand slowly locked the store behind them.

Meanwhile, Tian watched carefully.

After all, if he was going to work here, he needed to learn how everything functioned.

The old man slowly climbed the nearby staircase.

Tian looked ahead toward the top floor.

There was a small house above the shop, with clothing hanging outside to dry.

"Is that your house? It's nice. You live right upstairs~"

"Yeah." The old man patted his knees with a grimace. "But these stairs make things difficult. Especially during the winter."

Tian looked quietly at the frail old human.

He knew humans were fragile.

They grew old.

They withered.

They died.

It was simply part of the cycle of life.

Yet seeing the old man standing right in front of him made the reality feel much more tangible.

Tian was a Love Angel but here were also Angels of Death. Those angels dealt with death and everything related to it.

It must be a difficult job... watching humans die.

The somber thought made him unexpectedly sad.

"Here we are."

Grandpa Chao's voice pulled him from his thoughts.

Tian smiled and followed him inside.

The house was cluttered.

Old takeaway containers, cups, and piles of clothing littered the floor.

The old man casually nudged some of the mess aside before entering the bedroom.

Curiously, the closet inside was immaculate.

Everything was neatly folded and perfectly organized.

The old man rummaged through it before pulling out a plaid shirt.

"Here. This should fit you."

The shirt smelled clean, fresh with detergent, and completely wrinkle-free.

Despite the state of the house, every piece of clothing inside that closet had been carefully maintained.

It was obvious the old man treasured whoever those clothes had belonged to.

"Where's your grandson?" Tian asked casually while buttoning up the shirt.

"Is he studying somewhere else?"

The old man's movements stopped.

For a moment, the room became completely silent.

Then he quietly answered.

"No. He's dead."

Tian froze. "Oh." After a brief pause, he spoke again. "If he was a good person, then he's probably in Heaven's department waiting to be reborn. Even bad people can eventually reform their souls and be reborn."

He smiled gently.

"So your grandson is probably living with a new family now."

The old man slowly turned around.

"You believe that?" His voice trembled. "He... he was a good kid. He helped anyone he could. He..."

"I know so." Tian's firm response stopped him. "I bet he's happily spending time with his new family."

The old man smiled softly.

Tears shimmered in his eyes.

"I hope so too."

His voice cracked.

"I really hope so."

After a moment, he gathered several more shirts and shoved them into Tian's arms.

"Take these too. And don't walk around naked. It's bad for my store's reputation." He quickly wiped his eyes.

Tian grinned.

"Okay~"
