Chapter 4959 - Chapter 4022: MU: Super Body Major Event (65)

After listening to Constantine's narration, Shiller was not surprised. It might seem counterintuitive, but in most other universes, among the brothers Loki and Thor, Loki is more emotional compared to his brother. Although he seems to always be pursuing benefits, he is not purely profit-driven and likes to do things that may be useless but can vent his emotions.

This is also the fundamental reason for Loki's failures in most universes—he lets the intertwined emotions of love and hate in his heart control his mind, leading to mistakes in decision-making or execution.

People often believe that those who had shadows in their childhood and feel unloved are more likely to shut themselves off and become indifferent, willing to abandon everything for the sake of profit. But this is not the case. People who feel unloved spend their lives trying to prove they are loved, always trying to prove they can control something. Sometimes they don't realize it, but this may have already become the underlying logic of all their actions.

The strong emotional control required to remain indifferent and firmly profit-oriented can only be built in an environment full of care. Those who lack attention and care are precisely deficient in this area. Their focus on doing something is to prove themselves, not on achieving the outcome itself.

Conversely, the more love one receives and the more complete their personality, the better they can maintain objectivity and calmness when pursuing benefits. Because they know, regardless of success or failure, someone will love them, and they don't need to prove anything. With confidence comes less risk of being bewildered by temporary losses.

Loki and Thor are brothers just like this. Loki appears smarter, like someone who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, while Thor seems emotional and reckless; otherwise, Odin wouldn't have sent him to Earth.

But when it comes to big matters, they perform completely opposite. Loki begins to show emotional hatred, leading to many unwise decisions, while Thor, even in extremely adverse situations of losing his divine power and weapons, comes to his senses, realizes his mission, and takes on his responsibilities.

But this doesn't mean that Loki actually lacks love and Thor doesn't. It's more like their understanding of emotions is completely different, and this comprehension is a complex subject, inseparable from the environment and upbringing. Different backgrounds, Odin's choices, and Asgard's atmosphere together resulted in such outcomes.

However, this refers to the situation in most other universes with Loki and Thor; the universe where Shiller is is quite different. Although a few decades are just a blink of an eye for the God Clan, the gods in their youth have minds as active as humans, and the speed of shaping their personalities is not slower than that of humans.

When Loki truly realizes what he has, he starts to see that he is also being cared for and loved, and his personality begins to stabilize. He then inevitably possesses stronger emotional control, no longer needing to prove anything and instead purely pursuing the realization of his value.

In such a case, there is no need to attack Constantine out of spite. Although such an occurrence at the Holy Sanctuary might affect Earth and Asgard and may stall progress in the coming months or even a year, leading to more mess to clean up, so what?

Loki knows that The Avengers will not hold her accountable, and God King Thor will care even less. In their eyes, such matters simply don't count as mistakes, much less Loki's mistakes. Since there is no error, there is no need to find someone to take the fall. Even if Constantine were brought back, there would be no wrath to extinguish. So rather than attacking Constantine, it's better to find a way to cooperate with him and bring back more energy.

And just as Shiller expected, when Loki returned to Earth and explained the situation to Strange, Strange thought for a moment and said: "I have had some dealings with Constantine. His greatest strength lies in his magic talent, which is probably the strongest on that side of Earth, which is why so many devils covet him. However, he is very adept at solving problems using non-magic means. You might find it hard to understand how rare this talent is."

"I can imagine," Loki said, "When facing existences like the Demon God, the human race is very powerless. Even mages must be very careful when dealing with a Demon God like Mephisto. He can afford to fail ten thousand times, but humans can only fail once.

"In this situation, the pressure to survive can drive anyone who deals with devils insane. Humans will do everything they can to gain power to relieve pressure, using every possible method. Magic is undoubtedly the most powerful and convenient among them. In this situation, not using magic is unimaginable."

"Constantine isn't facing just one or two devils; he's almost offended all the mysterious existences in the cosmos," Strange continued, "Even so, when he can avoid using magic, he does so as much as possible. And what's even more terrifying is, his non-magic tricks almost always work."

"And he also has a very chaotic personal life," Loki said, curling her lips in disbelief, "Dodging devils left and right and yet still finding time for a wide range of romantic entanglements shows just how remarkable he is."

Strange sighed and said, "Those who collaborate with Constantine usually don't end well. I advise you to stay away from him."

"I don't like hearing that." An unfamiliar voice suddenly appeared in the office of The Sanctum. Strange abruptly turned to look at Loki.

A small piece of paper suddenly fell from Loki's body, and with a whoosh, a flame burst forth, revealing Constantine's figure in the office. With a cigarette dangling from his lips, he said, "The magic defense network is not bad, but it's ineffective against inanimate objects without energy fluctuations. Let's talk details of cooperation."

"Bullshit," Strange couldn't help but give Constantine a punch, "You have countless ways to enter the magic defense network through normal channels, yet you chose the most infuriating way."

Loki looked down at herself, unable to understand how Constantine managed to place that small piece of paper on her. She had divine power protecting her, and Constantine hadn't even gotten close to her.

Indeed, he has some skills, Loki thought, hugging her arms. This is not just any ordinary scoundrel; a heavy punch is necessary. As soon as I find his true form, I'll let him experience what Mjölnir is all about.

Wait a minute, maybe I don't even need to search myself. Loki's eyes shifted. Half an hour later, she appeared in the hall of the Fairy Palace, where Thor had just assembled his army.

"Good evening, Your Majesty."

Thor glanced at her briefly but said nothing, with an expression that seemed to say, "I'll just quietly watch your performance."

"I'm mainly here to explain the recent issues at the Holy Sanctuary," Loki coughed twice, then said, "To put it simply, there's a con artist who has duped quite a few of our members, causing considerable losses. As a result, there may be some Demon Gods lingering outside the Nine Major Kingdoms recently."

Thor furrowed his brows and stood upright from his desk, saying, "Con artist? You've run into peers? To actually take a piece of meat from your hands, this con artist is pretty impressive."

Loki couldn't help but roll her eyes, saying, "Peers? We're talking finance!"

"Got it," Thor waved his hand, "So you've been running outside lately, just to find this con artist. Did you find him?"

"Found him, but there's not much I can do," Loki shook her head and said, "John Constantine, do you know him?"

Thor immediately widened his eyes, dropping the pen in his hand, and swiftly rushed in front of Loki, sizing him up thoroughly, then said, "Constantine? That notorious mage from the neighboring world?! You went to look for him?!!"

"I didn't intentionally go looking for him; I went for the con artist. Turns out, he's the con artist," Loki casually spread her hands, saying, "You wouldn't believe how long he stared at me. He even put a magic paper on me, entering the Magical Defense Network together with me, it scared Steven quite a bit..."

With a loud crack, there was a flash of daylight-like lightning outside. Thor's face had darkened to the color of a pot bottom. Loki, in a spot out of Thor's sight, curled her lips into a smile, seems like Constantine is going to be in trouble soon.

But what she didn't know was, when water is too clear there are no fish, but when people are too despicable they're invincible.

When the Divine King's lightning strike came down, Shiller's first reaction was to run, Constantine's first response was to turn back to see what had struck him. To be precise, he felt the presence of Thunder God Thor, and between running and dying, he decisively chose the third path—turning back for banter.

Constantine turned his head to see a brawny man in a robe, with features seemingly chiseled by axe and knife, a completely classical Northern European visage, his eyes deeply set between prominently elevated brow bones and a nose, lips tightly closed, like an image straight out of mythology books.

And unlike other images of Thunder God Thor, the Thor who had become Divine King took more care in his appearance. Not only did he grow a beard like Odin, but his hair and beard were impeccably groomed, and instead of Viking Armor, he wore the robe of the Emperor of Asgard, adding an extra three points of sanctity and majesty to his mighty demeanor.

So when Thor landed, the first thing he heard was the sound of Constantine slurping. It wasn't obvious with the loud thunder, but when the thunder subsided, Constantine was almost about to pounce in front of him.

Thor took a step back to dodge, as a crack of lightning struck down, only hitting a paper figure. After a flash of fire, only ashes remained. Constantine appeared nearby again, smiling and waving at him.

"Hey, buddy, what's going on with your cosmos? Are you guys some fashion show organizers? Compared to Superheroes, selling magazines really is a quicker way to make money, right? I've got an even faster way to make money, want to hear it?"

Another crack of lightning, but clearly this wasn't the real body either. Thor snorted coldly, his eyes beginning to emit a white light, divine power continuously radiating, encompassing the entire planet.

Constantine suddenly changed his expression, cursed, and shouted in a heightened voice, "How could Thor..."

The next second, along with the dazzling Divine Light Power appearing in front of Constantine was Thor's fist the size of a sandbag.
